  1. Thanks Everyone!! Just got home about 40 minutes ago, I was gonna try to respond quicker but my mom ran my phone to the ground with the battery lol. Anyway, I'm doing pretty good and haven't had any issues so far and it feels good to be home and be resting that it for sure. I'm really sore around my port site and really tight overall with all my incisions. Taking sips of Water and I already put down a 20oz water already since I left the surgical center lol. I don't think I have any gas pains thus far but im burping a lot so I hope I don't have to deal with it later this week *fingers crossed*!! But I got on the scale before I left and I weighed 317lbs and I was 339lbs before I started my pre-op diet 2 weeks ago!! Pretty excited and building that confidence up. I can't wait to get healed up and start moving and make myself a healthier person and get in shape!! Thanks for the support!! -Amine
  2. Well I'm on my way to the surgical center as we speak. Can't wait to get this over with and be on the other side!
  3. I haven't been banded yet (Will be on May 21st) but you can do this. You have already changed your ways once and you simply slipped up and starting eating like you did before. I can be the one to tell you I have done this a million times while dieiting. It all comes down to your mental attitude and training your mind about situations you come by on a daily basis. I'm currently on my Pre-Op diet and I know its going to be harder going forward but I'm keeping a great mindset. I know everyone can't do this overnight and it takes time. I know once they put that mask on me before surgery and then I wake up in recovery, its a new beginning and new lifestyle. Don't be discourged and put yourself back on track! You have everyones support on here and everyone involved in your life -Amine
  4. I live upstairs in my roommates house and I have surgery May 21st but I will also be with my parents for a week or so. My doc told me atleast a week or two but I would rather sleep downstairs anyway on my big old couch lol
  5. Whichever surgery you go with there is always going to be risks and some complications. Make sure you do ALOT of research and pick a good surgeon that has experience with either the lap band or the sleeve. I was thinking about the sleeve too but I would rather having something thats reverseable and doesn't require cutting my stomach in half. When you are talking about slippage its mostly caused by the patient not eating/drinking what they should and stretching the pouch that is made with the lap band. Some cases its the surgeon's placement of the band that could cause a slippage (in most cases this doesn't happen). A good friend of mine just had her revision surgery for a slipped band because she wasn't sticking to her doctors guidelines and not living the "banded" life as everyone calls it. I'm not trying to scare ya here but I'm getting banded on May 21st and it took me a year to figure out what surgery I was going to go with. Like I said make sure you research both surgerys as much as you can and pick a really good surgeon for either of the surgerys! -Amine
  6. She should have her personal channel on all of her videos. She has like 400+ videos. You go to her profile /channel and it should be on the side. Something like 220/400. Then just click through until you see her first video

Its a video series 7 days a week with 7 different people that vlog each week and people that watch the videos asks questions related to there lap band. 16. Yeah I have been on past diets for the past 6+ years and have lost weight and kept it off but then I would fall right off the horse and get right back up and do it again. Yeah the support groups I have been to in the past have really been awesome and the people in the group are about 5-10 years older than me but hearing there experiences was really awesome. I really had to pound alot of info into my family's head and alot of my friends so they could understand why I'm doing this and hows it going to benefit me in the future!
  17. Its going pretty good! Haven't really had any issues so far and I have lost ten pounds already! Feels really awesome! I'm just ready to get the surgery over and start my new lifestyle!

  20. I'm taking Baratric Advantage for my Pre-Op diet that I'm currently on. They are very filling and have about 26g of Protein in two scoops (serving size). I bought mine through my doctors office for 50.00 bucks a bag and I got two bags with chocolate and vanilla. They have a webstie you can get on and order or just to check them out (I think they are 60.00 bucks online). My surgeon and dietician recommened them to me at my Pre-Op appointment. I'm also on a low carb high caliorie diet. I have been eating Weight Watcher Smart ones for the past 7 days and they are pretty good! I drink 3 protien shakes and day and they do keep me over till dinner time and they are tasty!! Let me know if you have any questions!! -Amine
  21. Thanks! I appreciate it!
  22. I had no clue this forum was up for May bandsters! My surgery is May 21st!! Well its almost a week away I can't wait! Follow my progress on YouTube: Search for account name AmineTheMachine -Amine
  23. Hey Ginger! I'm doing pretty good so far I'm on Day 4 and not having any issues really. I bought the Baratric Advantage from there office. Its enriched with a lot of good vitamans and such. I think all there bags have 35 servings in them so I bought 2 bags to be sure I had enough! And yes they fill you up and I was suprised! I take atleast 3 a day and then have a WW meal for dinner. I think I have dropped 8 pounds already!!
  24. I'm currently on Day 5 of my Pre-Op diet and my surgery is on May 21st. I started my Pre-Op diet on May 5th instead of May 7th just to get the grip of things. I haven't had any issues since I have started and it feels great. My Pre-Op diet: Breakfast: Baratric Advantage chocolate Protein shake w/1 cup (8oz) of skim milk, 1 table spoon of reduced fat PB and handful of ice blended. Lunch: Baratric Advantage Chocolate Protein Shake w/water in a Blender Bottle. Dinner: Weight Watchers dinner Snack (After work) Baratric Advantage Chocolate Protein shake. I have to have at least 3 or 4 protien shakes a day. My Pre-Op is a high Protein calorie controlled diet. 800-1100 calories per day with 50g-60g carbs 90g-120g of protien. Though I would those this out there since everyone is comparing -Amine
