  1. I was told I would have 3 incisions, one in my belly button and two more small ones. When I got home I realized I have 5 incisions all above my belly button. Anyone else????
  2. I was banded Friday the 22nd, the gas pains are starting to feel better today 5 days post op. Walking did help, I tried Gas x it did not work for me. The gas got trapped around my upper chest area making it extremely hard to breath in, but I just continued on with my breathing exercises, and slept with a heating pad. I made sure to walk each day. Last night I was starting to wonder why I did this but today has been a much better day!! Thank God!

They used steri strips instead of stitches or glue.

    5 incisions??

Ya one of them is a larger one. I have had laparoscopic surgery 4 Times before do when they explained it initially I understood. So wasn't expecting 5 incisions lol

    Banded Thursday

I was banded yesterday (Friday) & I have 5 incision all above my belly button. They all hurt and it hurts most when I breath in. Anyone have this?
  10. I am as well having the hernia repair while being banded. I'm glad I had the hernia otherwise insurance wasn't going to cover it
  11. My surgery date is this Friday the 22nd. I'm using true results Houston. Dr Reilly. The have been great, the only thing after reading on here is I don't feel like the explained post op very well. Like the "green zone", how often for fills, if they use fluro fill etc... but otherwise great so far!

    True Results - Houston

Im scheduled for surgery this Friday March 22nd at True Results in Houston! Im so glad to find other people who have also been banded there! For you folks who are a year or a few months, how has it been? How long did it take to get in the green zone, and how is TRue results on doing fills?
  13. These are great questions! I'm going to call my drs office and ask sone of these! Because my surgery is next week and I wasn't even aware until these boards that they may not fill the band and you may not hit the green zone for months!!
  14. Has anyone done the Advocare shakes for pre/post op liquid diets? I already bought the stuff to do the 24 day challenge with advocare but have opted for the Lapband, and I am starting my pre-op diet tomorrow. But I think minus the pills you are suppose to take I can still do the fiber shakes and the meal replacement shakes. Just wondered if anyone else tried this?
  15. My surgery date is now less than 2 weeks away and Im starting to seriously have anxiety about not eating again?? Im sure this is normal, but it really makes me think about how important food has become in my life. Especially socially, we always eat out with our family and friends, and so this will be such a major change in my life. I already deal with anxiety disorder so this has just amplified my fear. I want this though. I do. This IS normal right??
  16. It Is so true for me I think I'm actually mourning the loss of my food lol! I LOVE pizza! But I guess your right. I have to Love being healthy and skinny more! Has anyone found its harder to cook meals for your family after banding?
  17. I think I worded that wrong, Im not afraid of never eating again, I know I will be able to eat in moderation, maybe Im more afraid of failing, of WANTING to eat more than I should, or actually eating more than I should and screwing things up. I dont really eat to cover up negative feelings, I eat out of boardem! I initially gained the weight because of pregnancy, I was always thin before. I just love food and love to eat! I lost alot of weight and then developed hypothyroidism and gained a bunch of weight back and havent been successful in sticking to any eating plan or diet.

    So nervous/scared

Why are you getting it removed?
  19. hmmmm my pre-op instructions don't say anything about herbal supplements, it just says like nothing for pain like asprin, tylenol or ibuprofen.

    Vacation and the Lap Band

I am due to have lapBand on March 22nd and we are suppose to go on a cruise this summer... I am curious about how other people handled this. I was wondering about having the saline removed for just one week? IDK I guess I will see when the time comes I may not even be that concerned once I have adjusted to life with the band.
  21. Telling people is not an option for me, especially where I work. I work for an alternative medicine center and they are NOT ok with this type of thing. Also some judgmental family that I know would just try to talk me out of it. I may decide to tell some people when its done BUT definitely not the people I work with/for. They are sweet but do every 100% naturally.
  22. FOr people who decided NOT to tell.... I am also not telling, my husband, BFF, and my aunt are the only ones. Everyone else I am telling that I am having hernia repair. The part I am worried about is eating socially? Does anyone notice, I mean how drastically does it change how you eat, chew, swallow etc....
  23. I am scheduled for March 22nd!
