  4. OK I was asked to get married in June, bridal shower in August, exchanged vows in Sept (4 days after my birthday). My mom made my wedding dress. My aunt made my pillbox hat and veil. I wore brown sandals with a slight heel. My groom wore a brushed brown velvet blazer. He had on tan suede pants with a baby yellow shirt NO TIE. He wore boots that had heels that 3 inches high. We almost had the same hair style. Shoulder length wavy hair. My flowers were bronze mums and daisies. My dad showed up just as I was getting ready to go through the door. As the wedding march was played I stepped through the door and he pulled me back and said "are you sure?" I said "yeah, let's go". I should have listened. LOL!! We were getting ready to leave the reception (at the local hotel in fact the ONLY hotel in town reception hall - it held 30 LOL) and we ran for the car. We were going to the Lake Resort for a honeymoon. So we set out on the road and hear a THUMP THUMP. We pull over expecting to see a flat tire, instead we see a balloon tied to the undercarriage of the fender and a piece of cardboard as well. LOL!!!!
  5. Here is several pics of my grandkids and one daughter and of me and one of my grandkids last christmas.

Here is a pic of my now gone mother's mom. She was a Flapper in her day. She danced the charleston every chance she got. Let me tell you a story about her. We were leavng the church one sunday and at that time my then hubby was trying to grow a mustache with not much luck. She turns to me and say really LOUD, with the pastor right there. "I have more hair on my pussy than Fred does on his upper lip" I died of embarrassment but when I looked at the pastor he was smiling and laughing. Fred wanted to hide. I busted out laughing and Mammie just grinned from ear to ear. Turned with grace and walked down the steps. LOL!! She was a pistol. I miss her terribly.

Here is another one for you The Quest Unending by: Penni Merrick I want to speak with my ancestors. I want to talk to them. I need to know about their life, I need to know my purpose. Where are you? How can I speak with you? Would you understand? We speak in different ways. Help me break the barriers. There is too much confusion, There is too much muck. Is there no hope? I will free my mind. I will release my guardian animal. He will lead me to my people. I feel my guardian's presence. I hear the quietness I feel the stillness I sense the power I welcome my friend--Timber wolf. With a low growl I hear him say. "Fool, your people are all around you, just look." With that he departs. I'm left more confused Where are they? How can I look? I know not what to look for. I will call again for my friend I feel his presence I will ask "Please guide me old friend." "Why do you ask what you already know?" "I don't know where to look." "Search from within and the answer is clear." "How is this accomplished." "Dreams--Meditations--Believe" "I am more confused." "That is why you will never find your answer." With that he left again. I grow weary, I will rest and search another day. Timber Wolf "I hope another day will come for you my friend."

Thank you Betty. I actually wrote that while in Kerrville Texas Folk Festival listening to the crickets and cicadas and the music at the same time. Thought it was beautiful.

OK here is one I have had published. And is on a spoken word CD. Harmonies of Life! By: Penni Merrick c 2003 Harmonies of life are given as a gift. Cicadas, crickets, echoing and singing, Accompanied by guitars and crackling fire— Each compliments the other. Encouraging the next chord or chirp. The Harmony created goes unnoticed, Except for the unborn child, the innocent, The aged who sees life with dying eyes— All are smiling and hungering for more. The crescendo reaches heaven Where the Creator sings And Hell where the devil smiles. Cicadas, crickets sing for their mates. Guitars sing their songs for approval, Each in perfection. The fires add mysterious applause, Smiles, and asks for an encore. Harmonies of life are gifts. Never taken for granted, but cherished. Listen to the Harmonies!

Esmeralda you are gorgeous and so are your kids. Keep up the good work. Paula you and your hubby make a cute couple. What is it with men, they never smile. LOL!! Lightnsweet - we aren't ignoring you but it might be more helpful if you posted to a whole new thread or to a different thread. I know it is frustrating but it will come.

  17. OK I went to see "Shaun of the Living Dead" a incredibly stupid movie but oh so funny too. I went with my 17 yr old son. LOL!!!
  18. OH MY GOD! I have. I nearly caused an accident. LOL!! I was eating lunch with my 17 yr old son. Things were great. I had a backed potato with blackened chicken. No biggie right? Well I left the restaurant and was feeling fine then it hit. The tight feeling and the pain and the slim and and and. You guys know what I mean. The deer in headlights phenomonon. I turn onto the street heading home from the restaurant and it starts to get better. SO I think to myself it must have went on through. SO I swallow the slime. EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! And sooooooo a mistake. That caused the pain to start all over again and the slime was worse and so was the tight feeling. My darling son was asking if I was OK. I just shook my head and pulled into the first street, opened the door, and let it fly. Bradley the sweet kid rubbed my back and asked if he could do anything. I laughed and said make sure we don't get rearended. My ass of the huge lincoln I drive was in the busy street still. LOL!!! Luckily we did not get hit. But that is the bad part. I am now at the point I NEED a tissue, hell I need a damn towel to blow my dripping nose. My son finds two Kleenex in the back seat and hands them to me. OK FOR THE FAINT OF HEART DON'T READ THIS NEXT PART. As I blow my nose the Kleenex can't hold it all and you guessed it drips out the bottom onto my shirt. EWWWWWW!!! Bradley who had been a trooper during all this suddenly laughed out loud at me. Then said GEEZ MOM!! LOL!! I laughed so hard but was also embarrassed too. He was good about it all though. I was fine after that. I should have been right. I still don't know why I PB'd. I took my time and ate slow and didn't drink. It just comes up on me sometimes. I just didn't heed the warning signs the pig that I am I wanted to finish the potato and the chicken. YUM YUM!! OK that is my gross story. NEXT!!

I sent you a PM with my address.
  23. Awww Vera and Crystal: I can relate so well to the awful pain and bleeding issues. I had the same thing when I was 8 mths post delivery of my last child. I was at work and passed out from the pain. I was bleeding so bad they thought I had cut myself when I fell. THey rushed me to the ER and wanted to perform exploratory surgery on me. I told them get me stablized and ship me to my GYN. I knew what was wrong. I essentially was 3 months pregnant with a fibroid tumor that was hemorrhaging. I had to have a complete Hysterectomy. I was THRILLED with the results and still am. I was 27 yrs old. I am 44 now. OOPS no I am 25 ok that math doesn't work. LOL!! I was 27 when I had a hysterectomy and there is never a day that goes by that I regret my decision. Take the ovaries Vera, stats have shown in the past that within 3 to 4 years a second surgery is needed to remove them. I knew this and decided to take them. I am not on hormones and feel great. There is a transitional period after your hysterectomy with ovary removal but since you aren't taking them then you should be fine. I was up and helping pack to move within 5 days of my surgery. I had abdominal surgery and my scar is at my hair line. Any questions??
  24. I will shoot for down 10lbs in 10 weeks. Hope I make it. DeLarla you whiny butt come on. Labor Day is my birthday so give me this present. LOL!!
