  1. Alright so I don't speak highly of myself often, but I'm proud of myself and I wanna share it with you guys. I have went from 347 in January to 312 pounds this morning. I went from NEVER exercising to working out 4 to 5 times a week 45 minutes to an hour usually in the morning but sometimes in the afternoon too. In 5 weeks my average calorie intake has been about 1200 when it used to be well over 3000. Instead of eating fast food 7 or 8 times a week, I do it maybe once a week and when I do I don't go for the double quarter pounder, I go for a grilled chicken sandwich and yogurt at chick fila. I've been working so hard and all my clothes (that used to be a 5x t shirt and a 30-32 pants size) all fit nice and baggy and I'm actually going to buy a belt this week for the first time since high school. It feels so good to say these things. I go for my second fill on Monday, and I was thinking how nice it would be for us march bandsters to share some of the positives in our lives! We're doing it guys! One pound at a time......

  2. Okay, probably a good question for dr but thought I would run it by you guys. Since surgery I am NEVER thirsty anymore. EVER!! Not after an hour after eating, not after working out. NEVER. Gotta force myself to drink. Anyone else have this issue????

  3. Hi all! Banded 3/11/13. Down around 21-23 lbs. since surgery. First app. for fill' date=' Dr. said I was doing well without one. Go back on 5/2 then maybe get one. Don't really notice any restriction as far as taking bigger bites an eating to quickly so I'm nervous when I do get a first fill, I'm going to be in for a rude awakening. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> I have a W.W. digital scale thats said to be very accurate, but weight varies 2-4 lbs. day to day in mornings. Water retention??<img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> thanks[/quote']

Same thing hear. My thought (and this is just a theory) is that it depends if you have gone to the bathroom or at least had a morning pee. I won't even get on that scale unless I've have my morning pee. Every night before I go to bed I weigh myself and in the morning, I am ALWAYS around 2 pounds lighter.......

  4. Got food stuck for the first time today. I was banded 3/6 and I had my first fill almost 2 weeks ago. I felt no restriction, I mean NONE! But, I have been eating cautious bites just in case. Today I was distracted and took a big bite of salad with cucumber and BAM. Crazy, painful chest/upper stomach pain. Hurt bad and felt like I was gonna puke. Ran and got some Water, and took a couple of sips. The water hurt too and I felt water backing up in my esophagus. And then, like a tiny miracle, it went through just like that. Instant better. At least I think that was stuck food......

  5. @catfish 87: thank you. Thank you. Thank you for encouraging words. I read them over and over. I know I will feel better once I get out of bandster hell (now that I know what this terrible limbo that I'm in is called) and I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your support :)

  6. @catfish 87: so, do you think I should just act like I'm on a diet (that I'm starving on) and not be worried that for 3 weeks straight I lost weight (24 pounds to be exact) and this week I gained almost 2 pounds back? Should I just keep pushing through working out and trying to keep my calories low? My dr said until my first fill at week 6 I should try to keep my calories to around 1000, but I'm getting closer to 1200-1500. Should I try to eat less even though I'm already hungry? Thank you so much for your insight

  7. Okay, is probably a stupid thing to say but I feel like my lapband just like fell off or something. Hungry ALL the time, I can eat big portions again (well no where near as big as before but still good sized) and I'm still 2 weeks away from my first full. I'm working out like crazy and counting calories like a crazy person and gaining weight back I lost initially. Did my band slip or something??!!

  8. For several weeks I was worried that I wasn't taking enough calories cause I could barely eat 3 very tiny meals. Here lately though my hunger is back with. vengeance. I used to take in around 600 calories a day and feel very full. However today I took in over 1600 calories and only stopped eating cause I had taken in so many calories. My surgeon does his first fill 6 weeks post op. any suggestions on how to controls hunger for the next 2 weeks before I lose the 25 pounds I have lost so far???????

  9. Get back in a work out routine? The means I would have had one.... Wich I didn't or I wouldn't have been fat. LOL

    sorry that just struck me funny. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

In any case my dr said about a month.

Lol. I started working out as much as I could while I was waiting for my insurance to approve my lapband. Believe me, I def am not big on exercising! Lol :)

  10. I started mushy foods today and have never looked forward to eating an egg like I have the past few days! I hate Soup now!! Lol. Still feeling a lot of restriction. I had one egg and a small spoonful of refrained Beans and was pretty full. Sometimes my stomach makes this really hard rumble that I think is it growling but then the feeling goes away immediately. Not sure what that is. I'm sorry to anyone I offended that are struggling with eating or constipated. Believe me, I feel for everyone and anyone and all their problems post op. I was telling my personal problems and hoping for answers or suggestions. I most def was not trying to rub it in that I wasn't hungry yet. Sorry guys

  11. as for me 2muchfun summed it up' date=' I do the same, with the exception of broccoli one night I was stuck on a tiny piece of that stuff for 5 hrs, it was horrible and very painful till finally I got on here at 2:30 am and someone on here told me what to do to get it up and I did it and it came flying up and out, thank God! Needless to say I haven't had broccoli since, lol. My stuck episodes lasts anywhere from a few mins to 45 mins at best. Hope you feel better. Take it easy on your band for 24 hrs.[/quote']

What did you do to get it up??

  12. I got banded today. I too was nervous and posted on here that I was scared I was making a drastic choice. I made a "food bucket list" as stupid as that sounds and hit buffets and cake like it was my job. At my last consult before I went on liquids for the diet, I told my surgeon that I was afraid I was making a drastic choice. He told me being 5'4 and 346 pounds was the drastic choice I was making not the surgery. It's normal (my opinion not fact) to feel scared. Look inside your heart and make sure this is what you really want to do because you know you will never loose weight on your own. If u have doubt in your heart still, talk to your surgeon and be honest about the abuse you are putting your body through before a surgery that could and will change your life! Good bless
