Anyone in Surprise or using True Results?

That's awesome! Mine has gone super fast since insurance won't pay for it. I had my consult and exam on one day and that's it. I have an EGD on Monday the 4th, preop stuff on the 5th and surgery on the 7th. The whole process from consult to surgery is only 2 weeks! Amazing how fast stuff goes without dealing with insurance approvals.

    March 2013 Surgery Dates?

My diet isn't nearly as strict as I'm seeing on here. It's a 2 week diet. I was a couple days late starting due to finances. But I'm supposed to do 2 protein shakes and a dinner with the whole 4oz protein, etc. I have cheated a couple times but it was eating extra protein. I'm down about 5 lbs in the past 3 days. I have switched it up and I have actually been eating the "meal" at lunch time instead of dinner. That fits my hunger pattern better.

    March 2013 Surgery Dates?

No not so far. Could be low blood sugar. That's one of the symptoms. I'd call the dr and let them know. They may let you add some extra protein. If its bad now and the office is closed, eat some extra protein anyway. It will bring up your sugar and keep it steady. You could then call tomorrow.
  4. I have a friend who tried that cold laser lipo thing and said that it didn't work for her. A body wrap may help depending on how much skin there is. Just make sure it's not one of the water weight ones. Those just dehydrate you and don't really work or last. I'm a bit biased though. I sell body wraps on the side. Lol.

    Social group forums...

Yes thanks! And I think part of the problem was that I was using my phone. I went on with my desktop and was able to access some.
  7. I'm having my surgery on March 7th. I know the basics about the post op diet but does anyone have any recommendations of items that I should have on hand? Anything that you found to be most comforting, etc? Thanks!!!

    Any post op recommendations?

Thanks guys! Luckily, I have a Protein mix that I like. I work for a direct sales company as a side job and I love the one that we have. I've been using those for my preop diet so I will continue with those when needed. And I have a good blender and plenty of pillows. But I'm glad that you guys mentioned the heating pad and gas ex! Just added those to my shopping list.

Excitement turning to worry : (

I am having it some with True Results in Phoenix. I was declined for Care Credit but true results is going to finance me for their portion. That takes care of just over $5000 of it. I will have to work out the rest when I get the bills.

Excitement turning to worry : (

I'm worried too. My insurance doesn't cover bariatric surgery. We are repairing a hiatal hernia too so the surgery it's self will be covered. I will still have to pay for the banding, my deductible and my share after insurance. They quoted me $8,000. Totally sucks but I WILL make it work! I have been wanting to do this surgery for years and am finally focusing on me to do it.
  11. The 2 that stick out to me: 1st- In elementary school, I was pretty chunky. Not super obese like now but heavy. I remember a kid saying something stupid to me like "I didn't know that whales could sit in chairs". I can't remember if I said anything to him but I do know that I cried at home that evening. 2nd- my ex husband and I met while we were both on shape and in the military. Over our marriage, a knee injury, depression, laziness, horrible marriage stress, his porn issues and gaining too much weight during a pregnancy all took their toll. When we were having a fight shortly before we split up, he told me that I "smell like a fat person sometimes". I bawled at that. I am a nurse. I have taken care of overweight people and know that certain areas can get a bit rank if not washed often and well. But because of that knowledge, I have always been a bit paranoid about my hygiene and I sure as h**l know that I was fine.
  12. I'm new on here too. My surgery is planned for March 7th.

    March 2013 Surgery Dates?

Good luck Cindy! I'm the same day with True Results Phoenix.
  15. I told a select number of people. Close friends, family, etc. I'm not embarrassed to tell people about the surgery but my concern is only related to work. My consult to surgery was so short that I didn't want to cause issues with having to take time off. I told them it was outpatient surgery to have a hernia repaired (which is true since they are repairing my hiatal hernia at the same time).

    Seriously Embarrassed !

These are cracking me up! I haven't broken anything (knock on wood!) but I have had plenty of experience being embarrassed about having to swish my fat arse into random chairs. Lol.

    March 2013 Surgery Dates?

Thanks! I just started the preop diet today. 2 Protein shakes and a small dinner. Gonna be fun. Lol!! I was supposed to start Friday but had to wait until I could get the shake mix. Mine is just to shrink the liver size before surgery.

    How Long Can PRE-OP Be??

My insurance doesn't cover any bariatric surgeries. I am having a hiatal hernia repaired at the same time that I'm banded so that will help cover some of the surgery cost. But since there are no insurance loopholes, I actually only have a 2 week wait. Had my consult on the 21st and my surgery is on the 7th.
