  1. I have stairs at home- but only 14! It posed no problem, but my energy level was zero. I am more concerned with the work load, kids without special needs can be tiring ! I'm with others who posted, take time for you, you can always go in, if you are feeling great. Good luck special lady! You have a admirable profession.

  2. Well said!

I just had a visit with my doc, if I look at the charts, I should loose another 22 pounds. Doc said, in his opinion, I should not. He said you have to take age, shape, etc into account. Loosing more means possibility of loosing in areas, like the face, that will age me.

And then, the nicest thing he said is you look dynamite. I don't know why, I've truly struggled with my self image, but for the first time, I was ready to believe someone, and just say thank you. It's an interesting ride we are on Chasingadream, and you look like you don't need to chase it any more. Big hugs!

  3. Honestly, this forum has been extremely valuable to me. Thank goodness there are people here who want you to succeed, who will listen, help and yes, even kick your butt! Over and over, I heard stick to the band rules and guidelines, give it a hundred percent effort, do the best that you can, hour by hour, day after day, try not to dwell on the small stuff. If the band is the right tool for you, success will not be far behind. Best of luck and warm wishes!

  4. How fun would it be to visit each others barn and trail ride? Jane- why not start a country girl/ outdoor thread or group? I did start a horse women group at one time, but I think Sharpie and I were the only horse owners at the time. Now we have quite a few. Kindle- apologies for the hijack on the thread..

This summer has been so flipping hot, I don't want to overload my mares with gear and me- I know when they would rather stay in the stall with the fans on, than eat grass, it's HOT!

Last winter (fl), I was sidelined and missed most of the best riding weather. I am impatiently waiting for Oct, when it will be bearable.

My main concern is dehydrating after the band. Prior to being banded, I could slam 21 oz. in a minute, and would still get muscle cramps from over doing it in the saddle. Maybe I'll just try a camel back so I can sip sip sip?

Western rider, a little reining, a little cutting, and lots of trail riding! Learning carriage driving. Every now and then, my friend talks me into riding in an English jumping saddle, but honestly, my weight was a deterrent. Are there any medical professionals here who ride?

  5. Maybe just irritated the stoma, Vitamin, ibuprophen, little stuck Fiber etc. I do occasionally have a what seems random day where I start out as usual, then find I am having Soup or Protein Drink today :-)

All part of listening to what your body is saying. If it goes on more than a day or two, call your docs office- in fact, if it really concerns you- heck don't listen to us, just call or email him/her :-)

  6. Cody's mom.. You will be back in the saddle again soon! I am amazed at the noticeable difference in my balance. Btw, don't feel bad about the mounting block, 1. We are vertically challenged, and two, your horse is not being pulled and saddle/girth twisting! Happy trails ladies!
