The rules I am referring to are what admittedly are their doctor's rules.

solid food Protein sticks with you, allowing you to feel full longer. They tell us not to drink 30 min before and at least 30 min after eating protein first, veggies second. If you are drinking your protein, it does not stay in your pouch as long as solid food does. You may need more fills also. Your doctor's office is a good resource, especially if you are snacking between meals.

So many post with newbies and wannabe's stressing out about if their pre authorization with their insurance will be approved. Ecstatic when approved! Cannot possibly make it through the liquid diet, or possibility of post op pain. Do it any way, then break every rule laid out for success with the band. Really?
Is it because you do not value the wonderful gift of having partial payment from the insurance company, therefore, the band does not hold the same value as it would if you paid 15 thousand out of pocket? Or, do you not value yourself?
Some of the behavior exhibited, makes a mockery of the hard fought battles of folks struggling to loose by following the rules, and when they are successful, the same people who break every rule, wonder why the band isn't working for them, how they are not one of the "lucky" ones.
It's all about you. Decide before you put yourself through all of the above, that you are going to do this, not cheat yourself, and not cheat some of the amazing people on here, who don't know you, and are reaching out to help you be successful.
Sorry for the rant, but it's so upsetting when people break the band rules.

Ok, there are several Clear Liquids. sugar free Jello, clear protien drinks, crystal light, sugar free Popsicle, go on line, I love Amazon for it's diversity of products, secure ordering and delivery. broth, all kinds. You could even open up a can of Soup and strain it. Don't forget about spices. Cinnamon in your tea or coffee etc..
You can do this. Almost all of us had a pre op liquid diet. The first two to three days are tough, it gets easier. A year from now, you will be the one to say this to someone else to pay it forward! Dig down deep girl! Try to see it as a challenge, not an obstacle. Change your internal dialog from I don't think.. To I can do this, just watch me! You are not a quitter!
Try to plan to keep yourself busy, do something you love, a craft, a juicy new book, get up off your bum and move! Keep your mind off of it.
I know you can, as Carolina girl says: if you WANT IT.

Swelling after the surgery makes you feel less hungry, as your body heals you will have an increased appetite. You can live off your body weight for months, so not to worry, just make sure you are staying hydrated. Good luck!

Just ask your doc's office, they probably will do it.

Small Townes do have high turn over on doctors! If you are lucky enough to actually have an m.d.
Good luck! Do the best you can with what you have. You sound motivated, it will work out.

I try to look at situations like this as a blessing. There may be a reason why you are meant to have a delay. Have patience, it will happen when it is supposed to.

I know Sept seems a long way off, maybe you could still go out with your friends. Being poolside does not have to mean bathing suit. Shorts and a T. Have some crystal light, play some games, heck, even pitching quarters, or a super Water blaster on a hot day! Find the kid in you and enjoy your summer! Hang in there, it gets better!
