Beth, as to who mows and blows, well god does...:-)

Cody's mom.. You will be back in the saddle again soon! I am amazed at the noticeable difference in my balance. Btw, don't feel bad about the mounting block, 1. We are vertically challenged, and two, your horse is not being pulled and saddle/girth twisting! Happy trails ladies!

Another saddle bum! Mare or gelding? Age? Tetons... Wy?

Addicted to the Thrill of Shopping
Kitt3000 replied to Mary Jo Rapini's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Have to admit, I am having fun putting new looks together! If I don't love it, not going to buy it- no matter how great the price is. Even my shoes dropped a size, so everything needs to be replaced. Clearing out my old clothes was difficult, like the lady said, if you can afford it, enjoy it, and that depends on your budget. -
Me too! I've started using the Nioxin 3 part system, it is slowing it down

Good job!

Making big, life decisions

Yep, you can't put the "pause" button or "rewind" on life. Happiness starts by being in the moment, here, right now. The gift truly is in the present. Write your own script today. :-) -

Wow! What a wonderful job! You look fantastic! And you have your whole new thin life ahead of you! WTG! -
Hi Haley, I know how frustrating a lack of support can be, but, if you don't feel like you are getting enough at their office, you've started here, by taking the care for yourself into your own hands! It's time to buckle down! It doesn't matter how many fills you have had, it's the amount needed for a properly adjusted band- and there is no magic number- it's a different amount for each one of us. Next, it's measuring the amount of food you are allowed to eat. We have no idea if you can eat more or less than each of us, but the general consensus seems to be 1 cup of food. Protein first, and if you have room and still not satisfied, eat your vegetables. Be mindful of eating small bites and slow down. Drink your Water, as often as you can, between meals. Try to limit or eliminate Snacks, properly filled, you can go 4+ hours between meals. Sadly, no one can be there 100% of the time to hold your hand, but, there are some awesome people on this forum to listen and offer support. In the non virtual world, I know one person with the lap band. We even text back and forth, so when you need some encouragement, reach out to the wonderful peeps on this site, someone is sure to extend a virtual hand to help you out. Wishing you much success!

Don't wait too long! The weekend is coming up- think about giving your docs office a call just to get their take on it??

Pretty normal... Your body is healing, your band has not been filled...? Many people, myself included, gained in the first few months. It's not a quick fix, and each one of us heals differently. This is your new lifestyle, so be patient, not only all of your above concerns should resolve, but the weight will start to come off as you learn how to help your band by eating as directed by your doc, exercise etc. if you are doing something and your port site begins to hurt- sounds silly, but stop doing it. Why take the risk of dislodging the sutures holding the port? I think many of us find that staff members who don't have the band, just really can't relate... Good luck! You are gonna do great :-)

Any recent Mitchell area banidsters? Is there a local support group?

Run don't walk- to your docs office ! An un fill may be in order!

I'm not sure which is worse, having a doctor comment on food:weight, or having one hit on you after weight loss. Either one is inappropriate, and unprofessional . But, you're right, never give the rat bastard the satisfaction of knowing they in nerved you!

A picture is worth a thousand words! You must be so proud of yourself, as you should be!!very impressive! Go you☺️ -
Glad you're feeling a little better today. All part of the learning process. Honestly, it that one more bite that gets me. I can't always measure out a restaurant portion - working on it though! Oh, also eating distracted by tv, conversation etc. old habit appear, and I end up eating too fast. Working on that too! Haha! Be kind to yourself and just roll with it baby! Have a great day!

You may be there, and you may not. As long as YOU know you are working within the given guidelines , you can't control (or wish away) the excess weight. This is a lifestyle change. Think about it like this, sometimes roads are straight from point "a" to point "b", sometimes there are curves in the road, lower speed limits and detours, still, you can get from point "a" to point"b". You will get there, so why not enjoy the scenery along the way, stop at a rest stop, check out the scenic overlook and historical markers? :-)

It sounds like you are on the right track. :-)

Over easy med eggs, thick cream of wheat, oatmeal, egg salad, tuna.. Some things that pop into mind..

I fly all the time also, and I actually do notice. I take it easy the day of flight and the day after. It's one of those times to say, do what your band says, don't fight it! :-) it will win ! Lol!

Your body, so I am told, needs fats but good ones, to burn storage. When you use fats, try to use olive oil, avocados , nuts. Personally, once I am past the too tight stage in the morning, I will fry an egg in a dime size olive oil, cook one slice of bacon. Canadian is best for me, I was so presently surprised at how long I stayed full on a small high protein meal!
-
I was told protein first, then veggies if you have room....

When is a stall no longer a stall?

Cowgirl...you are awesome! -
Beginning ? Start standing up and do this leaning into a wall?? Maybe even standing push ups??

I actually gained and lost in the first three months, so I understand your frustration. Just wanted to share with you that what you said (a year from now) things and (I ) will be different and smaller. As long as you know you are on the right track and working with your band, you will get there! Cheer up kiddo!
