So, just in case, some things to consider... Find out if you can see some of his work first hand, and check the internet for complaints. Is the anesthesia fee included, and what about the or, & hospital stay? One of my friends was given the bargain price of $5000.00, only to get additional bills from the facility and anesthesiologist, bring the price closer to 10 thousand. Also, please take into consideration that these docs come out of school with huge education cost, malpractice insurance, and office start up, equipment and staff. It does not make them out for the money, or BAD people, their overhead is ridiculous. Just sayin' .

You sound on track, 30 pounds, three months. You are still in a healing mode, some even gain during this time, so you can be proud of what you've accomplished. This is a time to begin to learn what your body tells you and learn to work with the band. I had virtually no follow up support from my surgeons office, but if you go back, read old posts, you will find a wealth of information and support here. Personally, until I was adjusted a few times, I did feel hungry until reaching that green zone . Try having water or a hot drink to get you through that feeling. Eat your three meals a day, you may have to start later in the morning. Eat your one cup of food, starting with proteins. You will most likely, get to a point where you rarely feel hunger, and at times, have a difficulty getting in the protein you need to keep the "fat fires" burning. Good luck! Never give up!

Something has irritated your stoma/band area. Could be many things, something stuck, acid reflux, maybe taking aspirin ibuprophen ? Sometimes requires a small unfill, sometimes just cold drinks will help me. At any rate, your doc/ practitioner can help!

Hello Tamara! Usually your doc tells you to go back to shake, purée for a couple of days after a fill . If you are doing that, you may be eating or drinking too fast. Your stoma may be a little irritated after a fill so going slow and easily digested foods should help if it's not too tight. Your doc is the first person to ask. Did he give you a texting phone number?

I have used the bmi scale to help me get a range for weight and height. It may not be accurate, but approximates to keep in mind. Why? Because I, like so many others, don't see my weight accurately. I needed something to aim for without going too thin.

I vote for the one piece or tankini, or dermal blend makes a great water resistant product, followed up with setting powder ... Enjoy your day regardless, have fun with your friends! :-)

PJ Geezer, The office I go to allows me to schedule the next appt at the time of a fill, next week next month etc" then if I don't need it, cancell 24 hrs ahead so they can put another patient in. Maybe yours will do this? Good luck!

There's a balance between the size of the bite, along with the timing. In the early stages of learning what worked for me, I did find using small utensils as well as slowing down, made me more aware of prior bad habits. I had to recognize what I was doing before I could change it.

Same situation with my dad, has never said a word... On the other hand , when well meaning friends and family make these comments, I let them have their say, just nodding or agreeing. Then tell them thank you so much because I do not see myself the way they do. I'm certainly going to think about what they have said, and thank you for your genuine concern. Then do what you and the doc have agreed upon. Really, the more you protest, the more they think you are in denial. Funny, but they do care about you, so accept the love and ignor the rest :-)

Benadryl ... It calms the itch, even though it's not allergy related. The solid pink tablets work best for me. Good luck!

One thing I have noticed, initially, I ate quite quickly, just because my husband is a quick eater. We had a discussion about it, and he has also slowed his pace down, which really takes the pressure off me, to finish and go.. The payoff for slowing down for him, he has lost the three pounds he has been struggling with for as many months. Win/win

I do have to say... Orange juice sounded so great! Having never been cautioned about it, I was not prepared for the burning sensation! Won't be doing that again anytime soon...

My standby all time favorite. Blender is a 16 oz glass. I put about 1-2 inches of cold from the fridge, water in. Add about 4 frozen strawberries. 1/4 c frozen blueberries. 1 large spoon vanilla yogurt, 1 scoop of vanilla "pure protein " whey. Blend & drink. I find it amazing. Also, like others have said, it's not forever. Your taste for things may change after surgery, mine sure did. I am sure, I never knew how amazing hot cream of wheat could taste! Lol. You will do just fine, no need to panic. Best of luck to you!
