Thanks guys. I decided to pick up a 6:30 am bootcamp class that my trainer offers. 15.00 so you cant beat that. This weeks totals aren't final, but I'm down 3 and yes I can definitely feel the restrictions. I go back for a check up in 1 month. . PS Here's something I use to help me reach my goal in addition to measuring every drop of food I put in my mouth and logging in on my chart. Yes, I am very serious.

    Hi my name is Quinn
Banded Feb 5, 2013. Been heavy since 1998, Jr year in high school. I dont know what happen, I didnt realize the MAJOR weight gain til friends started to make jokes.
My highest weight was 283 and I wasnt even that heavy 4 years ago while pregnant I was 250. Major health problems starting with PCOS leading to taking metformin and high blood pressure medicine and then using the CPAP Machine. I didnt feel like I could date because one day I would have to fall asleep around that person. So embarassing.
My current weight is now 255. I work out 2 days with my trainer, 3 total days now at a boot camp class. I am seeing some results but got discourage once I GOT hungry. So after my second fill of 7.2 cc. I am not pretty restricted.
You guys are now my lapband family so I FEEL ok with telling you all this stuff. This is a judgment free zone. THANK YOU!!!!

My name is Kate. I live in the Philly suburbs.
Rather than post a long paragraph about my journey so far, here are the highlights:

    Banded in 2004, 296 lbs, size 20
1 year later, was at 192, size 14
Stopped losing weight, took 6 months to realize I had a slow leak
Continued getting fills and played with the same 20 - 30 lbs until 2009
2009 had major skin removal - breasts, arms, belt lipectomy (13 lbs of skin removed) 216
Had leaking port replaced in the same surgery
1 year post op, weighed 205, size 12
Was pretty happy and intended on losing the rest "someday" but enjoyed flatness and ability to eat in moderation
    Maintained for 2 years
March 2011, major leak, no restriction
April 2011, tube replaced (up to 210, worked hard NOT to gain, proud of 5 lb net gain)
    Feb 2012, first pregnancy
April 2012, tube disconnected, zero restriction. Bad abdominal pain, nobody able to diagnose.
Gained 65 lbs in 6 months (275 with baby at heaviest) (guess who was tired of fighting food? now add pregnancy hunger...)
Dec 2012, saw lap band surgeon - verified band disconnected, no erosion. Now 255
    Replacement scheduled Feb 2013
Want to get to 150 this time!

I never thought twice about my decision to have the lap-band instead of any other WLS. I knew what to expect and my stomach is not modified beyond natural shape. I like that along with the adjustability factor.
It's all good. Slower weight loss is healthier anyways.

Went to my surgeon for my first visit yesterday, he broke the news to me, my insurances requires a 6 month doctor supervised diet. So in my ride home I call and get a doctors appointment scheduled for today, and my doctor pulled out the tricks, because I went in February for suggestions about the lap band he considers that MONTH 1, and today was considered MONTH 2...soooo 4 MONTHS from now I will be joining the club!
I look forward to this 4 months to try and get my good eating habits in check (small bites, no liquids with meals, ect)
Any advise or thoughts anyone thinks I should know are always welcome, I love all of your opinions!

Congrats on your loss! You are way ahead of the game, when you consider all the other posts you can read on here about how long it takes some to reach your level of weight loss. So many folks complain of "bandster hell" and the months and months they go through to reach where you are. Not that they are all complainers/whiners. Most are being truthful and real. So whats the difference???Sounds like you probably have a doctor that does fills using fluoro, considering that you are 7.2cc's at your second fill AND your doctor says you are "really restricted now". Its amazing how much difference getting to proper restriction makes in our journey. The number one factor, in my opinion. Continue exactly as you are doing, following up with your surgeon and exercising. You too, will be "so happy I can hardly describe it" before long! Best wishes on your continued success!!

You ate doing amazingly well! I am disabled and don't have the pleasure of going to a gym. My exercise is limited due to my disability. Having said that I was banded on 12/28/12. I have lost 34 lbs so far between pre-op and post-op. I have not found that proverbial "sweetspot" so many people talk about. I think I felt like I had a sweetspot while I was healing. I don't feel any restriction per se but just stop eating when I mentally feel I am eating too much.
My surgeon feels that considering my physical limitations that I'm doing well losing a pound per week. I'd love two pounds per week but as long as I have a persistent weight loss I'll take it.
    Keep up your good work'

I didnt tell the people at my job. I didn't want the headache. I did tell my family and some questioned me about why and do I know how dangerous it was. I told them to do some more research then get back to me. Other than that I keep this quote in mind "In life there will always be pessimist and nay-sayers, but never allow your destiny to be tainted or diverted by them. The only influence your enemies should sometimes have on your life is that of motivation" #V. Carter. Hope this helps.

Just had a second fill today. I have a total of 7.2cc in me now. The doctor says im really restricted now. We will see. I have been losing 2.5 pounds a week. He said that was good but I was expecting more.
I feel like Im losing weight slowly than all the other stories Im reading. But I realize everyone is different. . Im working hard at the gym with my trainer, so I will tell her we need to beef it up.
    What are your experiences?

FYI-You have to burn 3500 calories to lose 1 lb of fat. If you keep to a 1000 calorie a day intake, and you burn 1600 with daily activity plus another 400 via exercise, you will burn 1000 more than you consume. 1000 X 7 days= 7000/3500=2 lbs a week.
That's a hefty schedule to keep up with as we all fall off the wagon on occasion and it's hard to work out 7 days a week. I was reading where one forum member, Catfish I think, was doing this so it can be done.
Comparing yourself to others without knowledge of their weight, where they are in their journey and lifestyles won't do you any good. Compare yourself to you, one week or one month ago. You're doing so much better than most.

Hi Im glad to see so many people get their approval. I had my surgery on Feb 5 2013 and everything turned out great. I had a little discomfort afterwards but hey no pain no gain! But at first I was worried because I was losing so much weight on my preop liquid diet. I lost 11 pounds in 10 days then after the surgery I lost 13 more pounds to date. So Im losing very fast. Ive learned so far its all about toning toning toning. The summer is 4 months away and the people who are banding now will look brand new by then.
I pray all goes well for you and your recovery! Congrats, like my friend told me "Welcome to the land of bands!!!!" lol
