  1. Doing some research and notice that more than half their lunch and dinner Entrees are full of carbs and sodium. Also their Desserts are full of sugar. How can a person lose weight like this? Im not saying they are bad, I just want to know you guys opinions. Did you guys try this before your band and what were your experiences? Did some of you try this with the band? What were your experiences?
  2. 2muchfun I love your advice. Its so real and straight to the point.
  3. Thanks guys! I just told her that we're not doing it and to have a seat! I can make use of that money elsewhere. She hasnt gotton the surgery yet. She waiting on approval. Right now shes using Jenny Craig. What do you guys think about that? When she gets the band can she continue to eat breakfast lunch and dinner from Jenny craig?
  4. No weight loss in the last couple weeks. Thanks for the advice Lapbandster, I will switch up my routine. This may be the problem. My body is getting to used to the same routine. I usually spend 45 min on the eliptical then I do my other exercises. Then the next day I usually spend 45 min on the tredmill and my other exercises. I alternate those two routines. Is my body that smart to know that its not really much of a change. I been thinking of adding an aerobic routine at home. There are plenty on my Comcast Cable On demand. So I will add that to the mix. I have literally been an exercising machine! Eating right, limiting the carbs because of the PCOS and absolutely no sugar. No beef or Pork because I cant tolerate it anyway. I hope I get over this slump this week.
  5. HELP! GET ME OVER THIS HORRIBLE SLUMP! Will adding more cardio help me to get pass this dead end? What are your suggestions?
  6. My bff wants me to go get a body wrap with her. Has any of you guys tried this? If so, what were your experiences. (She buys everything from Groupon! Lol)
  7. Ok no weight loss in 2 weeks. Im scared because Ive been working out harder than before. Have I reached my plateau? Ok I do have PCOS and I know with this their will be many ups and downs. Plus my journey is fairly new. But Im kind of nervous now. What things can I do to get over this hump? Also what things can I do to get rid of this mid section. My legs and arms are down to where I want them but this midsection isnt going any where. I told my trainer this and she says thats what usually happens first. I dont want to be walking around shaped weirdly. If you have or dont have pcos can you tell me the things you did to loose your midsection. Thank you!
  8. No cycle for me yet. My friends say im crazy but Im prepared and anticipating the day!
  9. Im wishing you the best of luck on your journey. Some people get the surgery for other reasons, none is more important than the other. But this right here is a challenge. GOOD LUCK!
  10. Ok I lost nothing last week. So far I been told my WL has been good. In the back of my mind I always think about my PCOS. I have to work double time to get the weight off and triple to keep it off. Have any of you, had this issue with your PCOS?
  11. WOW @ashcap. My surgery bill was 41000 her in Chicago. Good thing I was covered 100% and no copayment for the first 4 months for fills. I received the bill in the mail and said to myself this cost more than having a c-section. My c-section was 33000 4yrs ago. WOW.
  12. Yes I was approved pretty fast by my Blue Cross Blue Shield ***. Yes ***. Im very greatful.
  13. OMG! I was on full liquids for 2 weeks after surgery then puree. I didnt hit solids til week 7. By the way, GOOD JOB FOR WALKING. You will recover faster. Dont forget to get some rest, because your body will need it. #Banded4Life!!!!!!
  14. I live in the north west part of chicago and is looking for a dedicated work out buddy if interested, please inbox or instant message me. Thanks!!!
  15. Yes @Morelgirl the mental part is the hardest. In the beginning of my journey to this band, I couldnt figure out why my insurance made it a requirement to see a psych. Well now I know why. They even gave me 2 referrals for 30/90 days after surgery. Just to make sure Im on the right path and not beating my self up about the fluctuations. Youre doing great, so dont worry. We are all here for you! #Banded4Life!
  16. Hi my name is Quinn Banded Feb 5, 2013. Been heavy since 1998, Jr year in high school. I dont know what happen, I didnt realize the MAJOR weight gain til friends started to make jokes. My highest weight was 283 and I wasnt even that heavy 4 years ago while pregnant I was 250. Major health problems starting with PCOS leading to taking metformin and high blood pressure medicine and then using the CPAP Machine. I didnt feel like I could date because one day I would have to fall asleep around that person. So embarassing. My current weight is now 255. I work out 2 days with my trainer, 3 total days now at a boot camp class. I am seeing some results but got discourage once I GOT hungry. So after my second fill of 7.2 cc. I am not pretty restricted. You guys are now my lapband family so I FEEL ok with telling you all this stuff. This is a judgment free zone. THANK YOU!!!!
  17. Yea my surgeon didnt do a fill for 6 weeks as well. I ate lots and lots of sugar free jello that last week. Once you get that first fill you will notice the difference.
  18. Here's I chart i used once I had surgery. Keep it because its helpful. http://health.rush.edu/healthinformation/graphics/pdf/en/19999.pdf Also after surgery ask your doc if he has a sample meal plan booklet. My doctor did and I USE it often. CONGRATS!!
  19. Thanks guys. I decided to pick up a 6:30 am bootcamp class that my trainer offers. 15.00 so you cant beat that. This weeks totals aren't final, but I'm down 3 and yes I can definitely feel the restrictions. I go back for a check up in 1 month. . PS Here's something I use to help me reach my goal in addition to measuring every drop of food I put in my mouth and logging in on my chart. Yes, I am very serious. http://health.rush.edu/healthinformation/graphics/pdf/en/19999.pdf
  20. @toomuchfun, thank you for that info and insight. This is why I registered for positive support from people who are going through the same thing. Thanks again
  21. Atkins is really good. Goodluck with your full liquids. It becomes a breeze after 1 week. Your mind catches up with your body after a few trials and error. #Heres to good health!
  22. What reason are you taking it? I was taking it for PCOS and I was able to stop that and the high blood pressure pills 1 month after surgery. I was so thank ful.
  23. @2 much fun, I work out 4 days a week. I guess its all about trial and error. @Bobbie its hard not to compare. I have to stay focused. I have a goal to reach, so Im on it. The doc just raised my restriction and I have a doc appt in a month. So we will see. I can see some results but I realize it takes time and stressing is not going to make the process go any faster. Thanks guys. #Banded 2/5
  24. I didnt tell the people at my job. I didn't want the headache. I did tell my family and some questioned me about why and do I know how dangerous it was. I told them to do some more research then get back to me. Other than that I keep this quote in mind "In life there will always be pessimist and nay-sayers, but never allow your destiny to be tainted or diverted by them. The only influence your enemies should sometimes have on your life is that of motivation" #V. Carter. Hope this helps.
  25. Just had a second fill today. I have a total of 7.2cc in me now. The doctor says im really restricted now. We will see. I have been losing 2.5 pounds a week. He said that was good but I was expecting more. I feel like Im losing weight slowly than all the other stories Im reading. But I realize everyone is different. . Im working hard at the gym with my trainer, so I will tell her we need to beef it up. What are your experiences?
