  1. lilmispcl, I'm so happy for you. I'll be following you. I have my first consultation this week. Oh my goodness I have waited about 6-weeks for this appointment, it seems like a lifetime! I'm hoping to get a surgery scheduled by the end of April or May. Thanks so much for posting your pre-op diet. I haven't had a clue what to eat before the liquid diet. I've been trying to cut back on my eating, but what? I found a good protein drink at Sam's Club but I understand I should be making my own. There's so much to learn. I'm anxious for you and look forward to sharing your successes. Here's to a new you!
  2. Yew, veg oil?! That is nasty! I really prefer plain old ice water or cool water as well.
  3. Ok, this is a milestone for me. I can go several days without a drink of soda. My vice being Dr. Pepper...I don't drink much at a time. Because of migraines but when I get a migraine, sometimes a cold swig of the doc or (rarely) the whole can, will kick the migraine when my arsenal of meds won't. Go figure! We've just been through several days of horrible overcast and some rain. I pushed through a 72-hour migraine with no Dr. Pepper! That's huge for me. I lift my glass of ice water, Cheers!
  4. Definitely feeding off your excitement. A shout out to you for your hard work and many more milestones come!
  5. flrosie~~You are making me laugh, and thanks, I need it. I'm personally in migraine hell. But that's another story... I have loved this site since finding it. I have learned so much from "Bandsters" as I wait to cross the line myself. I feel like I'm in hell as I wait to have my first consult for goodness sakes. I'm so anxious to get this thing started. Even all the negative stuff it seems I will have to encounter along the way. Or shall we say, along our journey. As you have been so fun to read, I shall learn from the answers that other members provide as I follow your thread. Glad to meet you. kkua in So Georgia.
  6. BubblyBandit I'm so sorry they treated you so badly. I have been a WW 3 times. While going to weekly meetings more than once I heard people, usually women speak as you said--so mis-informed on people that go with WLS. We all have our own journey and have no idea what another person has gone through in their shoes. I learned a lot of tools that I know will be of great use once I have a real handle on things after my surgery. I hope you can put that negativity behind you and stay positive. You've done what's right for you. Best Wishes.
  7. I am so very proud of you! You are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing.
  8. Wow your excitement and joy is contagious! I can't wait to join you. I have no idea how long it will take me after my first consult.
  9. Haven't seen any posts on or for GF. Am I going to be alone in this category?
  10. I hadn't thought of a last meal. My initial consultation is just over a month away unless I get in early due to someone's cancellation (sure hope so). I'm gluten free which has its own obstacles. I've been trying to find out how to prepare for this liquid diet. Then the cut in carbs and increase in protein. How much of each?
