My doc also stated that I might be able perhaps have one can of Diego soda a week...if my tummy could take it. I think just hearing that they're still available to me won't make it so bad!

That is very exciting. I can't wait for that moment. I've always been embarrassed to go into stores that may not sell plus size fashions. I went shopping in a regular store once for my Mom and a sales clerk approached me to tell me that they didn't sell anything over 14. My worst nightmare had come true. I left that store in tears. I can't wait to go back to that store...try on thousands of dollars worth of clothes, get them all to the register and rung in and then tell them I've changed my mind and leave! Good for you...celebrate!!!!

This made me feel so much better. I was at my doctor the other day and when I said the word restriction he told me not to use it. He gave me the same information as this article but I haven't heard this as much as I've seen the word restriction. I really enjoyed this article...thanks!

It does seem weird but so worth it. Id hate for the doctor to not care and take a nic out of your liver!! If you're strong then I'll know I can do it too...I take a lot to get motivated too and the people on here are so great.

I asked my doctor about the shoulder pain and he told me that they've made great strides in that area by using humidified air to blow up your stomach. I'm hoping that the discomfort is minor. I had a laporoscopy done about 10 years ago and that shoulder pain sucked!!

Hey misscarrie... I haven't started my preop diet yet but mine is two weeks as well. When I casually asked my doctor what would happen if I cheated he told me he had a patient that cheated and he could tell when he started the surgery. He then told me that he closed her right back up!!! They can tell because they're shrinking your liver...if I woke up from anesthesia to find out that because I cheated he wouldn't do the surgery I would be a mess. You can do it bud...its only two weeks and nothing will taste as good as having the body you've always dreamed of will feel!

That's definitely a thought. I can't decide if I should just go hog wild until my surgery date ( I go to Hawaii soon and literally as soon as I'm home I go on my liquid diet) or if I should start cutting things out now. What are everyone's thoughts on this?

My doctor did tell me no more carbonated drinks. I haven't been banded yet so I'm nervous about giving them up. After hearing about trouble after surgery...I think it will make it a lot easier.

Well said!! You'll do great! I understand about being gunshy too...and have already been ridiculed. I will say this...those people need to learn not to throw stones through glass houses ( as do we all occasionally). Good luck to you...I'm being banded in May!
