Glue: How Long Does It Stay On?

They do recommend trimming the loose edges so they don't snag on your clothes. I had sx on 10-3. I still have glue on 3/5 incisions 1 pulled loose within the first 10 days. The other just yesterday. I have been putting the walmart closure strips on them to try & pull the edges closer together. But, it didnt seem to work. So, I used some medical tape over a bandaid so that the skin isnt pulling apart so much. allons-y

    Richmond, VA sleever

You may have luck at the local support groups. Theres more sleevers in Nova but we are still hard to find in the general population. allons-y
  5. Gasx strips at walgreens are your friend. Never trust a fart. Making your own soups are a good option. Or you can get panera soups like french onion which are low fat & low cal if u skip croutons & cheese topping. I ate so little that I got outback potatoe soup & blended then thinned w/ extra milk. allons-y

    Should I Buy a Vitamix?

You blend such small amounts a bullet type blender w/ the small cups will work better. allons-y
  7. Hey guys, Need a little advice. I am day 5 post op ( full liquids) & am waiting for the "other shoe" to drop. Like its just too good to be true. Please know I'm not bragging I'm seriously worried that somethings wrong. I haven't thrown up- not once. Haven't felt nautious, haven't had gurgling, or pain when drinking. No problems with "surgical gas". I can do my Protein shakes but I don't want them. ( I want glorious creamed soups). I can drink Water. I can fart. Etc... I don't have that feel it go down issue. I feel like did they even do the sleeve? I have pain at incision sites but thats it. I am worried bc I was ready to have all those problems & bc I have none of them I feel like maybe they made me too big on the inside? Anyone else feel no difference on the inside post op? allons-y

    Gastroparesis?

I don't have this but I know there was at least one or two ladies here who did. Use the search feature to find their profiles & then messsge them. Even if they haven't loghed in awhile I've had people get back to me. allons-y

    Is This Normal?

In Richmond theres centers of excellence - I'd call the insurance company nurse line & see if theres any providers locally that they can refer her to. Many insurance companies offer that service for free-they'll even call the dr's office for you & make appointments for you. ( I work in medical field it happens at least once a week, even for the " crappy" insurances) For the record, I was sleeved just over 2 weeks ago & haven't thrown up once. Somethings wrong. Stand strong. Don't give up!!! allons-y

I will regret this for the rest of my life

I'm only 29 & I regret not doing this 10 years ago. I always always knew I'd eventually have wls. For me it was money & insurance not a desire problem. I'm so happy to hopefully get this weight off. Even if I only make down to 150# & not my goal of 115 I'll be happy. I've tried several diets & been miserable forever. allons-y

Does anyone watch Man vs Food?

I used to watch it. I hope the tv networks pay for his medications & eventual wls. I know that they recently changed the focus of the show to him coaching others & not doing the challenges himself. allons-y

    Crunch Snacks?

My plan has saltines on it when you hit pureed. After pureed your free to resume whatever you can tolerate. Kale chips? Edamame? Wasabi peas? Sea weed chips? Those are pretty good options if you read labels & chose wisely. Hope this helps. allons-y

Weight Loss Stall at 2 weeks Post-op

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm down 9#, on my ladies time & haven't lost since week one post op. Dr. Wasn't impressed at 2 week check up I'm doing under 800 cal a day & am on pureed now. Hitting Protein, Water, cal & carb goals so I guess I'll just keep on keeping on and hope for some action. Yes, it does bother me to see people that have bigger numbers post op. I am hoping to average 10# a month loss, so I guess i'm on track. allons-y

    Does shoe size change?

I'm just over 2 weeks & I have toe gap now! There's light between those toes now. So, yes I'd say they smaller. allons-y

    i'm now my dogs bff

We've taken to calling our one dog fattie because hes like dibbs whenever I can't finish something. However, they always get to lick the plates clean. At least after I'm done licking them clean. allons-y
  21. Really good but I popped the stitch on the biggest incision which felt great as it was causing lots of pain which is now gone but as a result I have to be extra careful not to give myself a hernia- so dont strain when pooing- easy up & down w/ bed & chairs. Still have the lift restriction. They glued me w/ dermabond & weren't very precise w/ it. One incision near bellybutton lifted up & the glue came off! My surgeon said its ok but keep it clean & dry. I'm allergic to many adhesives so steri strips aren't an good option for me. They itch like crazy- i lightly scratch around them but only over a t shirt. allons-y
  22. Generally where they place incisions for c-sections is not where they place the incisions for vsg. These are mine. You can't see the covered by my bra but its just below the xyphoid. allons-y

    Biggest loser

They make make-up that'll cover up tattoos/scars etc. I think the ladies & ppl w/ less cheat hair would have more luck covering then the hairy guys. allons-y
