    I Finally Threw Up

I throw up when I eat too much, or too fast or when I don't chew well enough. I'm on a balanced diet (i.e. plenty of carbs but mainly from fruits). For health reasons, I try to have grains almost every day. I have rice often but only one ounce at a meal. Every body is different though, some can't tolerate starches or fat or sugar... Etc.
  2. I really love Mylanta gas minis tabs in assorted fruit. Tastes good to me, they are super tiny and work very well.
  3. I thought the same thing before any WLS. I had an appt with my surgeon last week and he told me to eat more. To try to get to 900 cal. I am still eating about 600 cal. It is still mindblowing to me to be honest. I begin each meal like I could eat tons but after a couple of bites, it is over lol. In a few more months, my appetite and capacity will go up anyway so for now I am just riding the wave. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Oh yeah, the only side effect I truly felt after my RNY was a sore throat. After a couple of days, it subsided. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Sounds to me you are on the right path. The first month stalls due to water weight and the body's adjustments are very common. Restriction came a little later for me when I got to solid foods and my body was competed healed. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. WLS is a tool, you have to work with it. I wish WLS was magic and work on it's own but it isn't. I have to work with it. I have to log everything, food, vitamins/minerals, exercise. I have to change up macros all the time, or as TheRealPennyD said intermittent fasting and other change ups to keep losing weight. Do you log what you eat, exercise... Etc.?

    Lemon salt tajin? I

Taijin is awesome. I use it in cottage cheese, on mangoes, on grapefruit... everything lol. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Daily Intake

I drink coffee with almond milk and a scoop of Genepro and 2 tsp of Verisol Collagen Bioactive peptides every morning. After that, the rest of my protein comes from food. My protein intake varies but right now 65g/day is working for me.

    Gaining weight

100% agree with Sunny. I log everything I put in my mouth: food, calories, protein, carbs, fat, even vitamins/minerals. That helps me see whether I need to change something to get my body back to losing weight. I don't trust myself if I don't log everything. 😅
  10. Hi. I guess I should've posted this question in the Revision Forum instead of the Gastric Bypass. So here it is again lol. I had a lap band and then revised to sleeve. Lost over 100 lbs with band and then 40 something more with sleeve. I have to have a revision due to gerd and other complications from my sleeve. Luckily, I did not lose any of my hair on either procedures listed above... And I know losing weight is much slower after each revision so maybe I'll be lucky again this time around. I was wondering if any of you lost your hair after revising from sleeve to bypass. Thank you in advance.
  11. I had a sleeve to bypass due to gerd. It feels exactly like the sleeve but I get full on a couple of ounces. I can eat spicy foods and can tolerate anything up to date. Fruit skins were tough for the first two months.
  12. Took the surgeon, one visit. After he submitted paperwork, it took my insurance about 3 weeks. I messaged you ^^

    Sandwiches and chips

Sandwiches in the future are possible but opt for the healthiest wraps or bread. For fries or "fried" foods, I always use my air fryer. For example, last night I made Mr. Tortilla pico de gallo flavor "chips" to eat with salsa. I used 2 tortilla, cut them up, air fried and ate with fresh salsa, total of 35 cals which included salsa. Sometimes I like putting cheese or another protein source on them.
  14. I have always been thinking about trying online therapy for emotional eating. Anybody have any experiences to share? Positive or negative. Like Cognitive behavioral therapy? Thanks in advance. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. I use my highest weight recorded for starting weight, then surgery weight for what I weighed at the hospital before surgery. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. Had the revision a few days ago. I went from vsg to rny. From day one with the sleeve, I was hungry. I don't know why. From beginning to end, the most I could eat was 10 oz with my sleeve, and I still lost weight but I remember it being a struggle to keep under 1200 cal. So with the RNY, the recovery pain isn't much different than the sleeve. Every pain was doable. I didn't feel nauseous, never threw up when I was in the hospital. I do feel like I did 1000 sit-ups. GasX helped a lot. I felt like I could've walked out of the hospital that evening but I had to stay overnight (due to insurance). I walked out of there at 11 am the next day. It's been 4 days, and I'm not hungry at all. The two days of clear liquid for pre-op was difficult, but now 4 days post-op RNY there is zero hunger. It's a new feeling for me. Some notes for the curious: I had a urinary catheter while asleep. My revision took less than 1.5hrs. I had a serious dry mouth and a sore throat that made me want to eat more ice chips and drink more water, which is good. No nausea, I took Aprepitant 40mg capsule two hours before. That helps with post-op nausea and vomiting. If any of you have any questions, please just ask and I will share my experience.
  17. Unfortunately, yes. I never had reflux before that. That is why my surgeon told me I had to get a revision. Not everyone gets reflux from sleeve but I don't know the percentage who does. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. No. I never experienced that. My first few weeks, moderate to severe constipation. Now at over 2.5 months, normal with slight constipation. Maybe ask your team/surgeon.
  19. I am 61. I just had revision VSG to RNY in August. Easy recovery, feeling very good. Ask any questions. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app

    I need cofffeeeee NOW!

I had no coffee restrictions at anytime.
  21. Yeah, if you don't have any of the other classic symptoms, you probably don't have it anyway. That is terrible they never respond. 😢
  22. Yeah, I don't think everyone gets the same symptoms. I only had it in the beginning. Metallic mouth can be caused by a lot of other things too. Here is the gerd one: https://metaqil.com/gerd-and-metallic-taste/ Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  23. Yes, I would be. I interviewed my surgeon on his ability and how comfortable he was in revision surgery. One can never be too careful. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. Had that when I first got gerd. It is one of the symptoms I believe. Talk to your team if you keep experiencing it. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app
  25. Good advice on this thread already but throwing in something that has helped me. I bought a mini Air fryer and it has really helped me with my cravings for fried food. I have a thing for crispy so I use it for so many things. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app
