  1. I'm going to look for some! We had lamb and veggies.
  2. That looks beautiful! Is bison tender or do you have to cook it for a long time?
  3. About an ounce and a half of pot roast, three bites of mashed potatoes, two bites of broccoli. Yum.
  4. I juice every day. I use all organic veggies and fruit-- one apple, two celery stalks, one carrot, two or three strawberries, chunk of lemon, handful of lettuce. Makes 6-7 ounces and has about 60 calories and tons of vitamins. I use an old acme juicer that lets some pulp in. I used to be constipated, but that is no longer an issue. I am almost 6 weeks out and down 38 lbs. my nut is very pleased with my results and with the juicing.
  5. Call your doctor right away. I don't think that's what should be happening.
  6. Roasted leg of lamb, a bite of sweet potato, asparagus tips. Yum.
  7. I think it would be too thick with a blender. I really love my juice!
  8. Hi! Last Saturday, at 4 weeks post surgery, I went out to Celebrate a dear friend's birthday at really great restaurant that I loved pre-surgery. I looked at all the appetizer and Soup options and none of them were what I wanted. (And since I eat so little, I only eat what I want that is high in protein). So, I asked the waiter if there was any way I could just get a couple of scallops-- I told him that I had recently had abdominal surgery and was restricted on what I could eat. Of course, he replied--I can get you an "add-on" of scallops. It was delicious-- three beautiful scallops with a sauce on the side. I ate two and gave one to a friend. The cost: $6. I had no little containers to take home and leave in the car or the fridge, I felt like I was a real part of the group and called no attention to myself. I even had a little taste of dessert--just a spoonful. Thinking that maybe this was a fluke and that I couldn't do this anywhere else, I checked with an expert: my son who is a chef at a resort and who has worked in a number of high-end restaurants in the north east. He said that add-ons are routinely done, and that anyone can ask for one. Generally they things such as shrimp, or scallops, or clams or a lobster tail, but that one could ask for an add-on of anything on the menu that could be available in smaller portions. Yahoo! I am excited that I can go out and be able to eat what I need to eat and not have to carry around food. When we go out, it is often before a show or a movie, and to me the idea of carrying leftovers to a show is not so fun.
  9. Wonderful progress! Congrats!!!
  10. I know what you mean. I lost 41 and I don't have to shop yet, but lots of clothes are looking baggy. Yeah!
  11. HW 291 (had thought it was 288 until I checked at last doc visit) DOS 2/28/13 277 CW 250 That would be 41 lbs gone!!!!!!
  12. Sautéed spinach with a poached egg on top sprinkled with bacon crumbs. Yum. Ate most of the egg.
  13. Just had my checkup. 36 lbs gone since Feb 1--my highest weight of 291. Surgery 2/28. I feel fantastic!
  14. 1/8 cup chicken, few bites each of spinach and sweet potato.
  15. Whats that line: " You can never be too rich or too thin." Add that you're working on the rich part!
  16. You'll love it and it will make your cravings go away.
  17. I have eaten it a few times-- just limit to about 3 1/2 ounces and no toppings. It is wonderful and very similar to non-frozen sugar free yogurt.
  18. 3/4 of a chicken parm muffin (egg face blog), two bites of potato and two asparagus tips.
  19. Had a great evening--went to very lovely restaurant with friends to celebrate a birthday. The menu was great--but I just didn't want to deal with ordering a big entree and boxing it up so I asked if I could just get two or three scallops. Yes! They do that. They called it an add on and I got a lovely plate of three scallops with a sauce I could use if needed. I ate one and a half and gave the others to my friend. It was great! And I felt like a normal person. Not bad for five weeks post surgery!
  20. No horror stories from me. I had very little pain after the first few days, and those days the pain was well controlled. Afterwards I was sore but had no trouble drinking my food. The only problem I had was at week four-- my pouch was inflamed (normal) and I needed to take maloox to coat it. Now I am great! Just learning my "I'm full!" Cues. I am down 26 lbs from date of surgery, 36 lbs since I started. Surgery was 2/28/13.
  21. Here you go! I used turkey pepperoni. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2008/03/pizza-bites.html?m=1
  22. Shelly's pizza bites. Yum! I ate two and they were great. Another excellent egg face recipe
