What ya eating tonight?
sassy14 replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't need the consistently rude and unhelpful comments made by the poster who seems to get her kicks being a bully. Haven't we all suffered enough from bullies? I thought that this was a safe space. I really thought we could learn from each other and part of that is that we would feel safe to post even when we made mistakes. And more than that, sometimes what our doctors and nuts tell us differs greatly. I am allowed to eat things I have seen others aren't. For instance, I can have an orange or a piece of toast or a few sips of wine. I have had a few sips of wine, a bite of toast and a segment of orange. Down 38 lbs in 6 weeks. -

That looks beautiful! Is bison tender or do you have to cook it for a long time? -

I juice every day. I use all organic veggies and fruit-- one apple, two celery stalks, one carrot, two or three strawberries, chunk of lemon, handful of lettuce. Makes 6-7 ounces and has about 60 calories and tons of vitamins. I use an old acme juicer that lets some pulp in. I used to be constipated, but that is no longer an issue. I am almost 6 weeks out and down 38 lbs. my nut is very pleased with my results and with the juicing.

Call your doctor right away. I don't think that's what should be happening.

Roasted leg of lamb, a bite of sweet potato, asparagus tips. Yum. -
I think it would be too thick with a blender. I really love my juice!

Need snappy come back line

Whats that line: " You can never be too rich or too thin." Add that you're working on the rich part! -
You'll love it and it will make your cravings go away.

I have eaten it a few times-- just limit to about 3 1/2 ounces and no toppings. It is wonderful and very similar to non-frozen sugar free yogurt.

Had a great evening--went to very lovely restaurant with friends to celebrate a birthday. The menu was great--but I just didn't want to deal with ordering a big entree and boxing it up so I asked if I could just get two or three scallops. Yes! They do that. They called it an add on and I got a lovely plate of three scallops with a sauce I could use if needed. I ate one and a half and gave the others to my friend. It was great! And I felt like a normal person. Not bad for five weeks post surgery! -
For pre-ops who have heard RNY horror stories...
sassy14 replied to Debbiebydesign's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
No horror stories from me. I had very little pain after the first few days, and those days the pain was well controlled. Afterwards I was sore but had no trouble drinking my food. The only problem I had was at week four-- my pouch was inflamed (normal) and I needed to take maloox to coat it. Now I am great! Just learning my "I'm full!" Cues. I am down 26 lbs from date of surgery, 36 lbs since I started. Surgery was 2/28/13. -
