  1. Hi! I want to share to give encouragement for who is struggling like i did!

I'm not "there" yet, but now that i reached my almost 60%loss i can go slow and i wont mind!

Dear 200lb, i lived with you for a long while of my life, but today i have to "end our relationship"...

    Be happy!

(50lb loss since surgery, 57 since pre op)

  2. Hi everyone!

Im 4months post op lapband, and 7 days post op from having my gallbladder removed.

For the last 2-3 days i'm feeling tighter then before with some foods i eat, and a couple of hours ago i had a HUGE stuck episode with a tiny tiny piece of baby carrot.

It lasted for a good 10minutes with lots of saliva and pbing.. I'm just sore now, like someone punched around my ribs/esophagus.

I'm concerned now that something could've happened during my gallbladder removal and maybe moved my band? Slipped?

Ohhh God! It freaks me out just the thought of needing another surgery!

    Please everyone, help me!

  3. Thanks for letting us know!

I'm also planning to go back trying in September, so if works at first try i will be just like u lol my surgery was in march 2013 ;)

I lost 43lb so far. My goal was to be at 200lb by september but thank God the weight has been comin off quickly, so by september im hoping to be out of the 200 now lol

How much weight did u lost before getting pregnant and how much did u gain during pregnancy?

    thankss

I was banded March 2012 and became pregnany Sept 2012. It is now June 2013 and I have an 8 week old baby girl.

My port 'bothered' me months 7 on, just because my belly was so big. By month 9, my port had turned ( flipped) so it was uncomfortable but not painful. Now, 2 months postpartum my port is loose. I am back down to my pre pregnancy weight, but obviously the port was 'pushed' around with my growing uterus. It still moved. At this point I'm not interested in more surgery to re-attach. I plan to loose more weight ( modified band diet as I'm breastfeeding) as well as re-assess in a year based on my body getting back to it's post pregnancy state. Not sure if I've helped , but port site was not painful. I guess my point is that anything can happen , you just assess as you go on. I'd like to suggest your health for you and eventually having a healthy baby might be worth a little discomfort. It is for me. Best of luck.

  4. OMg! What a difference. Congrats to you. How many pounds were you the day of surgery.. I know some people are getting banded at 5/2 185 pds these days ... You look awesome!

    Thanks ;)

I was 240 the morning of surgery..

    I'm at 215 now!

It has been reallllllyyyy sssllllowwww this last 2 months, most of the weight came off during the first month, but im happy.

I'm having my gallblader removed next month, hopefully that can help me shred a couple of more pounds lol

  5. Hi guys!

I keep wondering if i should eat my greek yogurt before or after a solid food? I'm afraid is going to wash down like liquids does.

Like now, i couldnt eat my omelet (woke up crapy this morning, gagged even to brush my teeth) so after i few bites i dont feel like eating more, maybe a yogurt could make me feel better, but again, i dont to wash what i already ate down..

Should i wait one hour to eat the yogurt?

  6. I had a miscarriage a couple of months ago, (my ttc app still reminds me in what week i am, i didnt have the strength to delete it - so i was supposed to be in the week 31, of pregnancy)

Right after the miscarriage i decided for the lapband and march 21 i had my surgery.

I lost 35lb since then, and my goal was to loose 80-90lb, and then start again, but these last few days im having baby fever again, i dont know what to do ð..

My surgeon gave me the ok to start try at 6 months post surgery, but im thinking about starting in mid June, so if God blesses me, i can surprise my husband in our 4th anniversary July 5th!

I know, im crazy, but i wish this desire would go away, i want to be a mom sooooo badly!

  7. I log everything on MyFitnessPal. There are quite a few banders there that you can follow if you'd like. It's a great tool to use. Feel free to add me txin1

    Best wishes!

Thanks Steph, i already added you ;)

Its funny cause icant see people's log in the app.

Maybe i'm not looking at the right place!?!

  8. I'm going to start then ;)

I'll put the time as i had my second fill last night, and i'm testing it out lol (even though today is only about mushies, tomorrow i go back to solid)

    So far:

7:00 - 1/2cup coffee + 1/2 cup of 2%milk(i usually have soy milk but there wasnt any left)

    7:30 - 1 pouched egg

9:30 - about 1-1/2 cup of fresh papaya

(Now is almost 10, and my stomach is growling lol, i'm going to try to hold on until 10:30 and maybe eat another egg. Damn it, i should've ate 2 eggs at 7:30, but i thought 1 was enough)

  9. Hi y'all!

I'm trying to see what you all have been eating to successfully loose weight.

Please share here what and how much you are eating. (I know every persons amount is different, but just to have an idea).

    Thanks.

  10. I was wondering how much Fluid you got in a 14cc band until you finally felt restriction?

I've been banded almost 8 weeks ago, lost 28lb from pre op to week 2, and since then had lost only 2lb.

I had my first fill 10 days ago (3cc) but nothing changed. I'm still eating what i consider big (not big as before surgery), but i can stay 4-5 hours without eating.. But it i eat small portions i will only make up to 3 hours.. So, thats why i'm probably not loosing :/

I know, i'm living thru band hell (thats whats called right? Lol).. But i want to go back and start to loose weight again!

Tomorrow i'll see my surgeon again, and he may give me another fill!

    (My journey i started at 250lb. I'm 5'6")

  11. I'm in between games so I can type a little bit. I was so scared to start crossfit. I had been working out a lot at a gym and I asked the guy that taught cf if they had a crossfit for dummies! He said it was all for dummies! I ended up trying another crossfit box in my town because the price was right and a parent at my school recommended it. I was scared to death. When you start a good coach will modify for you and usually you only do half the workout or so depending on what it is. I had my band done in late June and I was 276. My CF coach takes measurements every month and I was 230 for my January measurements. I am now 207 but as much as I have been loosing fat I know I have been gaining muscle. I did a body fat test where they submerged you in Water and I came out to be 23.9% body fat which just floored me! I was so sure it was going to be more but I have 156 lbs of lean mass (muscles' date=' organs, bones, etc.) and only 49 lbs of fat on my body. Still quite a bit of fat but I am considered in a "average" range. If I loose 9 more pounds of fat then I will be in the "athletic" range! When I started I was doing 2 days a week for the 1st month, 3 days for the 2nd month, and now I go 5-7 days a week. Sometimes I do the workout twice a day. I am usually sore and exhausted but I am in the best shape of my life. I love stalking my coaches' page to see what my workout tomorrow will be. Youtube was my best friend when I first started because I would look up the workout then go see a video of what in the world that meant! It won't take you long to get the crossfit lingo down. If you would have told me a few months ago I would be able to do a freaking handstand I would have said you were crazy but that is just one skill I have been able to accomplish![/quote']

    Omg! How exciting?

I'm not much of a gym person! I hate walking lol if i jump in the treadmill i rather run, so i can reach my goal quicker lol so i think crossfit is what i need! A crazy quickly workout! (Not that boreness from regular gym)

This place im going to see is a crossfit only space..

Im cant wait to reach my 200lb goal! (I'm 235 as today).. I lost a almost 30lb since banded 6 weeks ago, and my skin is already getting saggy. I need to go crazy on exercise to be where i want to be!

  12. Yes! Yes! Yes!!!!! Did I say Yes! I started Crossfit at 230 in December. I LOVE IT!!!!! Hardest thing I have done in my life but it is worth it. I am stronger' date=' healthier, and happier! Eugh! I want to type you a whole book on this but I have to get to a t-ball game! I will come back tonight and tell you why I am so passionate about it and I post pictures of the results I am getting <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

Trisket! Please share everything withe me lol

I'm going to try my first free class tomorrow, and hopefully start with full force on monday (if i can lol)

    I'm super excited!!

  13. Guys, my friend just mentioned about this gym here in our city that have this great workout called crossfit.

I watched some videos, and i found it very cool, but not sure i can do it weighing 220lb hahaha

    Any thoughts?

  14. The Diet as you describe it sounds a lot like Atkins or South Beach' date=' either one of which is lap band friendly. Just pay extra attention to portion sizes as most diets do lot limit these as much as may be needed for the band. Eat small bites, chew thoroughly and avoid white carbs. You should lose just as much weight just following lap band post surgery diet rules. If you need recipes, many can be be found on this site.[/quote']

Yes, its very similar to those!

Last time i did, i lost about 20lb in 40days, but of course- gained back after lol

So, hopefully the band will help me not gain back lol

    I'll start thursday :)
