  1. I guess I need to post lol. Almost 5 months out I am down 103 pounds overall (I lost 11 pre surgery). I am very happy with my loss and only another 60 to go until I'm at my goal. It's been hard at times but totally worth it. I'm down to a size 16 from a 24 and I've gone down to a size 40 bra from a 44.

The only thing that stinks is my hair is thinning severely. I know it's only temporary but it's still aggravating.

Keep up the good work everyone!

  2. I had my rny on August 26th. So I can give you a little input on what I'm experiencing. I'm almost 5 weeks out and doing fantastic, went for my one month checkup and I'm down 30 pounds from day of surgery. I find that crazy, 30 lbs in 30 days. But both my nutritionist and doctor are loving my progress.

Coming home from the hospital was scary since I had to have my boyfriend stop every 10 miles due to nausea. But I stopped my pain medications at about 3 days after surgery.

I had only one or two issues since surgery, the first was my own stupid fault, ate too quickly and it was not pleasant. The second was the other day, my Multivitamin decided it did not want to stay down.

Other than that everything's great. I read those stories also and it scared the crud out of me, some still do. But everyone's journey is different. I know it won't help the dreams but maybe it'll ease your mind a little bit.

    Good luck!

  3. This was the first time this has happened. I was scared. One of the wonderful women from my support group talked new through it. Told me to relax, walk and sip Water. It helped so much.

It also helped when she told me that what you tolerated yesterday isn't what you may tolerate today. Makes me rethink everything in my approved list that I've been eating. Nervous about eating now lol

  4. I'm two weeks out from surgery and today I have a funny feeling in my pouch. I ate my normal Breakfast (1 oz scrambled egg and 1oz diced ham). Well here it is about 2 hours later and it feels like I have a rock in my stomach. I don't know what it is but it's uncomfortable and making me nauseous.

I have no idea what to do. I haven't had any problems until this. Souls I call my surgeons office?

  5. I have a crazy problem. At least it sounds crazy to me. Ever since I had my rny on Tuesday I've had an almost stabbing pain in the lower left side of my stomach. There are no incisions there and I'm not sure why it hurts so much. That is the only problem I am having.

Has anyone had this type of problem before? Thanks for the help

  6. My doctor was willing to let me go home the next afternoon following surgery but I did not have anyone who would be able to pick me up. So I stayed until he next morning. So I was in two days. It was great and everyone was amazing at the hospital but I'm happy to be home instead.

PS I also agree about a recliner to sleep in it is easier to get in and out of. Even with having a binder on it still hurts.

  7. I actually had to sleep on the couch last night so I wouldn't roll over in my incisions. I keep getting my pain pill stuck in the back of my throat and have to work getting it out.

The best thing I heard was the other day when my doctor said that if you don't go home 10-15 pounds heavier than when you went in we aren't doing our job properly. Total in all I gained about 10, maybe a little more. But it feels good to finally be on the losers bench.
