  1. With that short of a flight you will be fine. Fri and Sat were by far the toughest days. I was able to return to work on Tuesday and host a luncheon for 45 people. Are you flying out of Love Field bc that is a much smaller airport and has far less walking required than DFW.

    January 25 bandsters!

You've only had 1 fill! Don't give up....clearly you aren't in the green zone!
  3. Sorry, been out of town for work. The post op diet wasn't bad. I think that it was a week of liquids, a week of mushies and then a week of regular food, then 1st fill. The liquids phase was easier than most doctors bc you could have smoothies and some soups. To be honest, you will be so sore that first week that you will not want to eat. After about a week you start to feel like a person again. The green zone means being able to eat about a cup of food and have it satisfy you for up to 5 hours. I'm eating more than that now and get hungry about every 3 hours. I can tell them I'm getting closer to the green zone with each fill. Dr. Marsden is a bit more aggressive than other docs bc he wants to set you up for success as soon as possible.

Not in the green zone yet but I feel like a totally different person from the beginning of January!
  5. I went through True Results in Richardson. My surgery was on Jan 25th and I've been really happy with them! I too was self pay and have not regretted this decision. My aftercare appointments are once every 3 weeks. I've lost about 30 lbs in 2 months so I'm very happy! My doctor is Dr. Marsden.

I had surgery 3 weeks ago to the day and I got my first fill today! I was given 3 cc for my 10 cc band during surgery. Today they gave me an additional 1.2 cc. They told me to come back in 3 weeks for my 2nd fill. My doc seems pretty aggressive but I will do as he instructs. I can't wait to reach the "green zone" where I'm not hungry for 5 hours on a cup of food.

I know the exact feeling that you are having! I've noticed the pain too and called my doctor. They said that it was probably gas so I've done everything to expel the gas. Then a few days ago I noticed that the pain came after I ate. I really think that it's your body saying, whoa, something is different here. My advice would be to eat super slow and very small portions. Since I revamped my eating, the pain is not as strong.

Bday, I too got he pic of the band on me. My doctor was super excited about my liver too b/c it looked perfect! That helped ease the pain during recovery

    January 25 bandsters!

I've had cotton mouth too lately and I've been drinking a ton! I feel back to normal for the most part. I still have a ton of pain in my left shoulder and I can feel large knots. I have been able to move to fish and very well cooked veggies. So far, so good. It's great that people are starting to comment on how I look like I've lost a lot of weight. How are all of you doing? Able to enjoy your family once again?

Weird but my doc said that I could have protein shakes and smoothies since surgery. Weird how all docs are different. Today was my first day on mushies! Sounds kinda sad to say but the KFC instant mashed potatoes that I had were like heaven! Do any of you still have gas pain in your left shoulder? I still do.

So it sounds like we are all kinda in the same boat.....putting the weight on from past pregnancies and not having lost it. Annie, you are so right that this is at least a step closer to see your babies' life milestones.

I so know what you mean about feeling disconnected from your family. My kiddos constantly want to squeeze me or rush me (my 2 boys at least). I feel like I need a shield to keep them at bay . Dinner time is very important to me too and it makes me a little sad that I'm not cooking or eating with them. The good news is that this surgery was cake compared to my 3 C-Sections. How old are your kids Soon2bsmaller? Mine are 9, 4 and 3.

Glad to hear that you all are doing a lot better like me! I agree that there is still some trapped gas in my left shoulder and my port feels sore. I'm not sure if they gave me a fill although the pics of my lapband inside of me look like the balloons are inflated. Blondie, the hiccup sensation is trapped gas. My sweet hubby had a prof massage therapist come to the house to try to relieve me of some of the gas pressure. She recommended rubbing the top of the chest (near collarbone) out to the shoulders. This has helped me a lot! Went to work for a half day and feel pretty good! We are on the mind!!!
