  1. The night was OK. I only took pain medication one time. My tummy feels like I did 2000 scrunches without stopping and with stretching before hand. Also I didn't know that with all sleeve surgeries they will put a draining tube. It drains blood and intusions? I'm not sure what that means. When I came out anastasia I was in pain Alot! But then I am given pain medication demeral every 4 hours and Darvocet every 6. It makes drowsy. I have walked about 4 times. I have urinated about 6 times. No Bm yet and no gas, but burping. I don't have much gas pain in the shoulders. I'm glad bc it was really bad with the Lapland. I will go home this morning???? so ready for a shower I feel ????????????????????:-/ I. Will keep u all updated.

  2. Ok ladies and gentlemen. I have made it. So far so good but pain has been pretty bad and I am able to sip on Water and ice to I keep coming in and out of napping because of the pain medication and now I am sipping on chicken broth as the SIP Goes Down a burp comes up my throat hurts from the tube. It is a little hard to walk. And I have a drainage thing in the side of my stomach the doctor says it's to drain adhesions and blood? Does anyone have any questions why was is fresh in my mind about the process so far

  3. I have butterflies in my butt. I go in tomorrow. I'm so nervous. I cleaned my whole house did all my laundry and today I'm going to pack my bag. :@ freaking out a little. I have the band in now and it was a complete failure not due to anything I did but it has to come out I will be so grateful when it is out it is made my life a living hell the last year. So I'm a little scared that this is going to fail to but I know its just my mind.

  4. Hi everyone! Happy holidays. I am due to have my surgery on December 29th.

I would like to know suggestion of things I should bring to the hospital and also what I should have at my house for the recovery time. I'm trying to make this process easy and be prepared. Please help. I'm trying not to have any shoulda coulda wouldn't lol. Thanks

  5. I am actually having the band removed on December 29th by the doctor who put the band in over in Miami at the same time he will be doing the gastric sleeve. All of my follow up and support will be with Dr Rahab which is in Dr bass is office. I cannot wait to get this band out. I'm glad you did not get the band. I paid for my gastric surgery out of pocket and has been a complete waste of money. A matter of fact, they may be doing a recall on the band I have had a couple of lawyers contact me already. Some type of civil suit that is going around. I'm very excited to get the Gastric Sleeve done. And I know with the adoptive patient program at Dr bass is office will be great for me. So I'm sure I will meet you in the upcoming year.

  6. Can you be my buddy? You live near and already have experience with this gastric surgery. I already have problems with Constipation. What do you recommend that I take stool softeners before the surgery last time I had a hysterectomy I got so constipated it ended me up in the ER with my urethra cut off and I could not urinate. Sorry to be so disgusting. That was also a major surgery. I don't ever want to have to go through that again!

  7. My surgery is scheduled on December 29th I am having a lap band to sleeve conversion. It's good to see someone thats having a surgery around the same time could you share with me what you are doing for the pre surgery? My surgeon does not have me on a liquid diet or anything like that before my surgery. I did not have to be on a liquid diet for the band either. I noticed that everyone is on some type of a diet. What is the reasoning behind it and why the heck am I not on one?

  8. Hi everyone. I'm converting my band to a sleeve on December 29th 2014. I would like to find someone who has also had a conversion done to share their experience strength and hope with me. I live in Florida however, it is not necessary to live in the same state. I am a little nervous about taking the band off and converting to a gastric sleeve all in one surgery. They have not asked me to go on any type of liquid diet. But from what I can see most people do so maybe I should. I'm not sure what the reasoning is behind the liquid diet they did not have me do that for my band either. I paid out of pocket for my band and here again and paying out of pocket for my sleeve. I'm very frustrated that my band has slipped and I am having the sleeve done with much hesitation. Please send some help my way.
