  3. Went for my first fill today. I had 5 cc's put in at surgery, and another 2 cc's today. They said the incisions looked great, and took me off of my blood pressure meds!! It feels great to be off of them! I've been on them for 2 years (I was 26!). Next stop C-Pap!
  4. Wow, I had never heard of that. That's crazy! Sorry that you went through that. I wonder why they have never mentioned anything about this.....
  5. I love Atkins protein bars!! They are the best tasting that I've had and have low net carbs (if you watch that). They are perfect to take with you if you are on the go!
  6. Oh ok, now I get it! well the craving of food didn't start for me that early, but it did come around. When do you go to purée foods? My advice is just think about the serious complications that eating this early could cause.. I know the food looks, smells and probably tastes good, but it's simply not worth it. You will be able to have good tasting solid food again, but you just have to wait it out.. Good luck!! Stay strong, no solid food is with hurting yourself over (which it sounds like you understand that very well). Sorry that I don't have any great advice

    Any updates?? Worried about her
  8. Your doc has you on solids this soon?? I was allowed purée foods 24hours post-op but stayed on liquids 3 days because I simply didn't feel like eating... I'd call them first thing tomorrow morning to find out exactly what they want you to be eating. I don't think it's uncommon to have problems eating solids this soon, I'm 4 weeks post op and there's still several foods that I can't/ am not allowed to eat. Good luck!!!
  9. My surgery was 5/6. That picture is old, it was taken two weeks post op. my incisions look great now. I feel great! I'm exercising (walking/jogging 1-3 miles) 6 days a week. Feeling very good, I get my first fill tomorrow (4 weeks post-op). I have no pain from any of my incisions at all.
  10. Yeah, definitely different. Mine simply had gauze Over what was shown. I took it off/changed to shower daily. Feel better!
  11. Bellefontaine is a little over an hour away from me
  12. Hope you guys are feeling good after your surgery! It gets better and better. As far as sleeping on your stomach, I was able to resume sleeping on my stomach 5 days post op. I would take two pillows and put them on my bed from where my waist to chest would be. I would crawl on the bed on all fours, SLOWLY lower myself onto the pillows to when I would be positioned on the pillows. Then when waking up SLOWLY get back on all fours and crawl off of the bed backwards lol. It sounds funny but worked. I've even heard of people doing this since day 1. Good luck!!!
  13. I haven't done that but my surgeon charges $100 for visits/fills to self-pay patients. My first 2 years are free, after that its $100 per office visit regardless if you get a fill or not. Good luck!
  14. It's funny how different doc's are. Less than 15 minutes post surgery they had my eating ice chips and SF Popsicles Lol I was only on liquids for 24 hours. I was allowed to start purée the next day, but I didn't feel like eating and didn't. So I was basically on liquids for 72 hours. I don't have much to add, everyone here has covered it. Good luck!!!
  15. When does your doc allow alcohol? My doc doesn't allow it for 6 months, probably a good thing For me Lol
  16. I'm 4 weeks post-op. lost like crazy on preop/first 2 weeks post op. 27 pounds total in those 4 weeks. In the past two weeks 0. I've been training for a 5k too so I'm walking/jogging 6 days a week, sticking to my diet etc.. I feel your pain, it's frustrating. But, the scale will catch up with our hard work!! Keep it up!!
  17. I'd call your doc. Mine is 14 days post-op. I went swimming yesterday but I'm 4 weeks post op Monday. Your doc could be different though, he could be 2-4-6-8 weeks, it's just hard to tell! Good luck!!
  18. Dayton, Ohio! Go REDS!!
