  1. I agree - sounds like you are doing great!
  2. Awe-to-the-some!!!!
  3. I haven't been banded yet - I am sure many on here will have good advice for you - likely including walking (even slowly) as much as possible and that calling your doc tomorrow is a good idea. I just wanted you to know I saw your message and I have faith it will get better! Hang in there!
  4. I am intrigued! Is the brand called 'designer whey'? Is there a website?
  5. Love kale chips!! And so much Vitamin A in them!
  6. Yayayayay!!!!
  7. Thanks, Mis73! That all makes a lot of sense.
  8. Hey ladies, I'm expecting my period next week - I will be smack in the middle of my pre op diet. I am nervous about what is generally a major chocolate and salty Snacks craving. Any words of wisdom? Also, does this continue post-banding? I am guessing it might - wisdom there appreciated as well! Thanks!!
  9. Something to look fwd to! My husband will be thrilled. Last night he was pulling out all his top moves but it was Day 2 of pre op diet and an 18 hour day and it was never gonna happen.
  10. Pleased to report I made it thru my final flight.
  11. That is a great NSV! One I look fwd to
  12. Thanks, all - very helpful! I gave up soda a while back and rarely have it - but I do often have an iced coffee every day or two during the summer. Sounds like I should avoid it right before/after surgery but if it doesn't cause reflux I'm probably ok in the long run (keeping it with skim milk and a sweet n low).
  13. I'm day 3. Broth has helped a lot. The feeling of something hot in my belly.
  14. Out of curiosity - do folks know why caffeine is often nixed in pre op diets? I've seen it listed here and am curious.
  15. I am banded on the 11th - almost band twins There is also another thread in the pre-op section with lots of ppl being banded in July (lots of diff diets - mine is close to yours - shakes to get me to 80g Protein plus .5 cup veggies, .5 cup fruit and .5 cup starch). There is also a July Bandsters club (link is further down in the group lists). Lots of places for support!
  16. Waking up today feeling very accomplished - yesterday was Day 2 of pre op diet and also the close of a week long conference I've been at for work. The day started very early and I ended up heading to the airport with ppl way early for my flight - which meant hours at my #1 trigger zone. I bought a book, some raw veggies and a protein shake. I make it the 4 hrs till my flight - then we have 4 hours of delays! I was in the airport for almost 10 hours all told and ended the day just under 900 cals and didn't die!!! I was texting my sister and she said if I showed myself I could survive yesterday I could do pretty much anything
  17. Thanks all! My surgery time is set for 7:30am so hopefully going home will be an option. I'm not having any kind of additional procedure and I do has CIGNA so maybe it is them requiring it. Appreciate the thoughts!
  18. Hi all- Somehow in my mind I had read so many stories of ppl who get their surgery times early in the day and can go home the same day I just assumed I would also be outpatient. I was just told by someone pre-registering me for my surgery that I'm staying overnight. Is this something it's worth advocating against? I'd just as soon be home (and not get surprised with any add'l hospital bills). Thx!
  19. Day 2 pre-op diet. Stuck at an airport. Starving and surrounded by fast food. Bought a protein shake and praying I will just get engrossed in my book.
  20. Closing in on end of Day 1. Bit of a headache (and I know I'm drinking tons of water) and do feel hungry but not overwhelmingly so. I'm at a work conference and tonight was a celebration dinner that was catered. I had to leave early - I found myself irrationally angry at everyone eating their baked chicken around me!
  21. A lot of the pre-mixed protein shakes are lactose free. Also, you can mix powders (like Unjury) with water, almond milk, etc.
