I had my psychiatric evaluation today. It went well. He said he would not give me a thumbs up or of thumbs down. But that he felt like I was well adjusted and he hopes everything works out for me. He had lots of questions like why didn't I think I could lose the weight without the surgery because I'm doing so good pre op. I guess I'll know something later. I feel pretty good about it. I'll keep you posted!

Just had my psyc eval! I'm glad that's over with!!

I've seen topics where members having surgery in the same month have kinda banded together to offer support and encouragement to one another. I think this is a wonderful idea, and I'd like to see if there's anyone having surgery in March that would like to support one another.
I have a tentative date for the second or third week in March. I have UHC through Georgia Pacific and they use BRS for approvals. I don't expect any delays, nor does my surgeon's office, so she saved me a spot, so to speak, lol.
Tonight I have my psyc eval, and Monday is my information class, I have two more visits, 2/5 and 3/5 of my six month supervised diet, and on March 5th when I leave my PCP's office, I'll take my worksheet to the surgeon and we'll submit to insurance. That's where I'm at!
I'd love to talk with others that are looking at the same time frame as me!!

Clear Liquids are beef or chicken or vegetable broth. Decaf tea or coffee black or with splenda. Water and you can add SF koolaide or crystal light etc. And SF Jello. But usually you get released on full liquids which includes yogurt, strained creamed Soups, Protein Shakes, milk, SF pudding and I am sure others will add to this list
Thanks!! And yes, please add add add! I need to start shopping! Lol!

My doctor said i didn't need a cardiac clearance ... Is that weird?
Not weird! Like pbear said, some docs just have certain requirements, and others base it on your history... it think my surgeon just wants to be safe.

I just had an EKG done and a pulmonary function test, that was it. It was easy did a whole 3 hours of other testing though, I think the worse was the upper GI series. Our surgery dates are 2 days from each other, we should try to keep tabs on each other :0)
For sure!! Thanks for adding me!

Does anyone have UHC and have to go thru BRS for approval. Please tell me all about it. I know my ins covers the surgery I'm just wondering how long approval took for u after they submitted and if u ran into any problems.

Oh no! How long since your surgery and how long have you been bleeding?
Surgery isn't until mid March :\ I have been like this for about three years. This is week four the last time I bled for eight months and now I'm anemic. I've had DNCs and blood transfusions all thanks to my PCOS!!

Penciled in the second week in March!!

I just found out that my surgeon's Clinical Therapist is out of network, and I have to meet my 1K deductible. !!! Ahhh!! I hope to hope hope he'll let me see an in network therapist? I don't want to fork out another grand on top of the other OOP costs I'll incur.. I may have to change surgeons to one with an in network therapist...I really had my heart set on Dr. Mitchell... any suggestions?
