    3 weeks post op

I am on the same week as you guys, banded 12/28. I do pretty well with getting protein. Have protein shake in the a.m., large unsweet ice tea keeps me drinking, then lunch is fish and veggies this week, and dinner has been eggs and veggies. I do have a craving every day around 3 pm, so I have sf/ff pudding or a yogurt. I love my coffee and this sometimes kills my sweet tooth.. my favorite sweetner is stevia or the new sweetner by splenda made from monkfruit... My new love is also almond milk/ unsweetened/ vanilla... it is awesome! I stay away from alot of dairy and this makes a difference. I don't ever feel hungry, but my stomach growls and whines... so I make sure I eat even when I don't think about it. I go for a fill on 2/1... I am looking forward to next week with grilled chicken and more veggies. I remember to chew like 20 -30 times, and can actually feel the food pass through my band...
  2. I too have decreased my meds by half. I didn't have diabetes, but metabolic syndrome and was taking 2000mg Metformin daily, along with Crestor 5 mg, and a whole host of other meds. I am only taking 500 mg of Metformin by mouth and waiting for a new script for liquid metformin. I won't know aobut how long I should have to be on meds until new labs are done.

First fill.... So glad its over

I go in for my first fill on 2/1/13.. I can feel my band, but can't feel my port.. I know where it is at because of the bruising after surgery.

    The 1st 6 weeks..

Very much so... same issues and I am 3 1/2 weeks out... enjoying the mushies.. especially fish everyday and veggies... tonight was scrambled eggs and mushy grits... couldn't find any oatmeal in the pantry... I am looking forward to making some soups this weekend, especially french onion soup

    Medications..

I took alot of meds prior to surgery.. I am working on re-integration now @ 1 week post op. I used to be able to take 8 pills at once, now I am crushing most and taking one at a time over a 1 hour period. I have to follow up soon and perhaps some of my meds won't be necessary. I think all things in moderation and don't rush is my motto for now. Nothing I am on is life threatening, and the most important meds I am taking already. Thoughts?
  6. Greetings all!! I was banded on 12/28/12 and am 1 week post op tomorrow... I am excited about noticiable changes already and am hopeful for future. I am new to the forum and hope to be able to share some fun things in the future.
