  1. You are in my prayers today. Keep us posted.
  2. Cindy, I need a cheer leader! We all do, dorky or not. Thanks for all of your kind words. Susan
  3. Good job on your choice for a new life and on your success so far!
  4. I have a similar story. I've gained all the weight back that I lost....80 pounds. We can do this. You get to start February off for us, right?
  5. It isn't easy. I'm doing pre-op shakes as well. I just think about how much easier it will be for the surgeon to see what he has to see, without that little bit of extra weight or a larger liver. I want the surgery as safe as possible. Keep your eye on the prize
  6. Thank you so much for your insight. It's great to have a veteran in the February Group. We're sharing our surgery date, so I'll be needing your expertise and experience to help me through. I'm ready for that field of flowers .
  7. A lot of it is water. But who cares? Weight is weight! Congrats on the loss.
  8. What an awesome story. Congratulations on your loss and your "gain".
  9. Got my medical clearance this morning!
  10. It iS all very exciting and it's very natural to be nervous. I'm a registered nurse and also been through more than my share of surgeries and I'm a little nervous too.
  11. Congratulations! You are an inspiration to us all.
  12. Welcome to the fold. I will keep you in my prayers.
  13. I'm so sorry. My prayers are with you.
  14. Congratulations on the start of your journey.
  15. It took me 20 minutes to find the place to add ticker! This is my first experience with forum boards, so it's a learning process for me.
  16. Kate, thanks so much for the update. I find this site difficult to navigate at times, so I appreciate you administrating this group. Looks like we're sharing our band/re-band day.
  17. It's going to be an exciting month!
  18. Thank you so much for posting these. Personally, I'm still avoiding "before" photos.
  19. Saw my surgeon today for a pre-op visit. I got my insurance approval and date as an added bonus. I'll be banded on February 4th.
  20. I did a medically supervised liquid diet three years ago and found days 3-5 were the worst. It will get better. Just make sure you're getting enough protein.......here to support you.
  21. I still don't have a date yet, but I'm already trying to get in that prep mode. Since I saw the nutritionist, I've been following her guidelines. I've cut out carbonated drinks, cut WAY down on caffeine (I'm a major tea drinker), cut out all sugar and food high in fat, getting 60 grams of protein and faithfully been drinking 8 cups of water a day. I've also started using My Fitness Pal to track my food diary. I've decided on a 1200 Cal intake. This morning after one week of this new behavior, I'mdown 5 pounds! Granted, the weight loss is always greatest in the beginning of any diet, but 5 pounds is 5 pounds. My surgeon does not REQUIRE any pre-op diet, but I thought this might make the transition to post band eating easier. BTW I passed my cardiac stress test yesterday! Last hurdle.....insurance approval.
