  1. I am having a band to sleeve revision on October 20th. I am super excited and any advice would be welcome. I had an easy recovery after the lap band surgery but my band slipped after a year and I am now getting the sleeve. Thanks in advance.
  2. I actually have had a barium swallow and a ct scan and they could find nothing wrong at the time After I posted this I went to a new doctor who looked at the ct scan and diagnosed a slipped band. I will be having surgery to repair it or convert to a sleeve soon. Thanks for the info. You are completely right.
  3. Has anyone had any success in alleviating acid reflux after banding. I had it prior and it went away for almost a year and then came back even worse. I am miserable. I have had band adjusted numerous times and it always comes back.
  4. I have done my research online, but was hoping someone on here might have personal experience and could recommend someone.
  5. I am looking for info about surgeons who do the gastric sleeve in or near Bristol, Va. I currently have a Lap Band. Thank you.
  6. Thank you. I used to be able to maneuver the site well when it was Lapbandtalk.
  7. So this will be your 3rd surgery? What caused the slip?
  8. Has anyone started with a lap band and then converted to a sleeve? I have had the worst time with severe acid reflux with my band and have had to remove almost all the fluid. I am hungry all the time consequently. I have had all the X-rays and examinations and am told my band looks fine. I also had a hiatal hernia repaired so that isn't the problem.

  10. I am glad you have recovered. I am hoping I will too. That we all will.
  11. I stopped crossing my legs and mine is about 50 percent better. I put off nerve conduction test and any further tests until I give it some time.

  13. As always, your advice is greatly appreciated Missy! I hope you are doing well.
  14. Thank you. Whatever it is, I will push on through. Life is good!
  15. Thanks to everyone for the input. I am hoping to get back to normal asap.
  16. That gives me hope. I have had blood work to rule out pernicous anemia and an MRI of my back and now they want to do nerve conduction tests and a spinal tap to rule out MS and ALS. Has been exhausting. I still run 5 miles a day but I trip a lot. Lol.
  17. I was banded on January 16, 2013. I have lost 130lbs and have been very overjoyed with my new body. I started having pain down the outside of my left calf about 6 weeks ago. It turned into a numb left foot and a condition called foot drop. I have read several different articles about how this can be inadvertently caused by the weight loss. Mainly because of the loss of cushion around the peroneal nerve and my terrible habit of constantly crossing my legs which can aggravate it. Anyone else had any experience with this? If so, did it go away and how long did it take? What was the course of treatment if any? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Melissa

  19. I had acid reflux for 10 years. I didn't sleep well and I was always miserable. I had a hiatal hernia that was repaired at the time my band was placed and it fixed the problem. I am sorry to hear of your troubles and I hope they find a solution for you quickly.
  20. Amazing pics! You look fabulous!
  21. I really like the Atkins brand of shakes. They are low in sugar and carbs and they have a good flavor. I like mine really cold and you can even whip them in the blender to make them a little frothy.
  22. Awesome pictures!!!! You look fabulous!
  23. Try the Splenda flavor packets in Mocha.
