  1. I would always call the doctor for pains in your chest that radiate to your back so be sure to do that but I know gas pains also feel that way. Try taking some gas x and using a heat pad on your chest. That helps me.
  2. I know Dr. Neal has some support groups at his office. I will give you the number and you can call. They are very helpful and can likely tell you where other support groups are. The number is 412-3120 or you can go to the web site www.pacsurgical.com. They have some listed. If you email them they get back to you pretty fast. I am new but would like to be support too. Perhaps we can continue to encourage each other. We are retired military.

    Is this stuck????

I am only 6 weeks with my band. When I first started regular food that was not mushy I think I just ate too quickly. I would then feel exactly what you are describing. I knew I had not over eaten so I started to slow way down. I also have really tried to pay attention to what my body feels like when I eat and find that I take a deep breath when I am full. I then stop. It is really hard for me to stop because I feel like I just got started...and it is so good. I just have to keep telling myself I can have more later if I want it. Another thing. I have began just taking a little of my husbands food instead of ordering a plate of my own. This keeps things real for me and if he is really hungry we order an appetizer with it to be brought out at the same time. It is a real learning experience for sure. I wish you lots of luck. Another thing when I first began to eat solid food I ate gas x like crazy. Now it does not get that bad.
  4. Thank you, All of this is really good information. B-52 that describes exactly how I want to feel in fact for the first couple of weeks I did and it was very helpful in weight loss. I have started to do some light exercising but the port prevents me from going full on. It begins to hurt and pull. How long does that last?
  5. Surgery January 11. I only had 1 week pre op diet by choice. All together I am down 16 pounds but now this week my hunger is back. I get my first fill Wednesday.
  6. Really!! The last 4 weeks I felt satisfied with very little food. I guess I am more thinking satisfied rather than full. This week I just feel hungry. I have to figure out a way to get rid of the head hunger. I wonder if hypnosis would help with that?
  7. I am about 5 weeks post op. My appetite is back full force. I will get my first fill on Wednesday. I did well up to this week and now all my willpower has up and left. I sure hope I get a little help from my fill. I am one of those people who just does not feel full like most which is why I opted for the lap band. I liked the idea of feeling full. I have been able to stay under 1200 calories but today I went over. It just feels like failure all over again. I was so disappointed to hear the fill may not help.
