  1. Do y'all suggest I eat more calories? My goal is to eat 1200 a day but this week n next week my goal has been 1000 because I hadn't lost any weight for two weeks. After 1/2 a week I already lost a pound n a half. I just didn't know about the whole starvation mode our body would go in to n after speaking with my NUT she said I should b okay as long as I didn't go under 1000 calories.

  2. Is this cals burned "keeping" the lights on + exercise? If so that's pretty normal. I burn around 2200 a day. 1800 metabolism and at least 400 from exercise.

I'm not sure what you mean by "keeping lights on + exsersize. N I'm supposedly burning 1400 calories in exsersize alone. Zumba is a Latin dance, lots of jumping around n constant movement. I come out of the class dripping in sweat. The key is to get a good instructor

  3. I do zumba for 2 hours at the YMCA. No I don't have a tracking device yet so I'm just going by YMCA s tracker according to my weight' date=' height, n intensity. It actually says I burn 780 calories per 60 minutes but I say 700. 700x2=1400. I v e been a lazy a## for about a month since I've been off work but my work is a very active one so once I go back I'll b burning more calories... I won't be counting them tho.[/quote']

That's 2 hours a day on most days

  5. I do not keep track. But my craving for Long John Silver's tells me it is time.

I swear - I eat it and then I start the next day. Without fail. Every.Single.Month.

When I hit 40 - it all became about the salt! LOL

Mmm love the salty Snacks. I've never had a sweet tooth but when TOM is visiting I tend to crave sweets sometimes. Not sure about the restriction since I'm not there yet

  6. So I talked to my nutritionist today n let her know that I have been eating about 1000-1200 calories a day and have been burning about 1400 per day which is more than I consume. My concern was would my body go into starving mode since I'm burning so many calories. She said as long as I don't go under eating 1000 I should b fine but that my doctor recommends consuming at least 1200 calories. She also said I should have a snack before n after workout to hold me through. Just thought I'd share this information with y'all since I had been very curious about this.

  7. Once you find the right exsersize for yourself you will learn to love it also. I love going to my zumba classes. They are sooooo much fun and I burn about 750 calories per class. I even do 2 classes a day (2hours) at times cause I just don't want them to end!

  8. I think the pain meds the doc gave me helped better. But I bought target brand gas x at target n cost about 5bucks. I was s more uncomfortable but the pain for me wasn't bad. The worst for me was the nauseated feeling I had so make sure your doc provides it cause mine didn't. Good luck to you

  9. Why? Did you have lipo-suction and expect to return to work 75 lbs lighter?

All you did was have the band inserted' date=' surgically....I doubt it is "Turned On" yet......took me 4-6 months to get it runnng efficiently....THEN the weight started to melt away, along with exercising, plenty of Water, and Protein....and very little eating!

BTW, 2 years, been at goal for a year, and NO ONE knows I had the surgery, except for the closest family members.....[/quote']

    Thanks, I know right. I wish I had Lipo.< /p>

  10. Honestly I hadn't done much research before I got the band n started looking at utube video n looking up stuff on line but not too much. I thought the band was going to make me feel full. Like when I were to serve myself 1 cup of food I thought I'd only b able to eat like half n b able to say whoooo I'm full n physically can not eat any more. I have now realized that the band is not here to make me full but instead it's supposed to make the food I do have last longer. It's a lot of hard work or has been for me n lots of times I feel like I'm still on a diet. Im having to track my calories, choose healthier foods to eat, n have been working out a lot. I've only got I fill so far so maybe when I get to my goal weight, I won't have to track any more. Choosing healthier foods n working out will have to b a part of my life forever but hopefully with the band, tracking will have just been a tool to help me become healthy.

  11. I too was banded on 1/31/13. Slept in my bed the night of surgery. I am a side sleeper predominantly but since getting the band I've been on my back like a turtle in bed. Lucky for me after the first night I was able to lay flat but even on day 5 it's not comfortable for me to sleep on my sides yet. I can lay on them for a few minutes but then I have to get off them. It's a 50/50 thing on my part I think. Part discomfort (not so much pain) and part mental block telling me hey yahoo...you just had surgery 5 days ago' date=' stop putting that kind of stress on those incisions by laying on your side, do you want to tear one of them open???? So 5-15 minutes later I am back on my back ;)[/quote']

I think it took me about 2 weeks to sleep on my side

  12. I know I don't owe them an explanation n I actually kept telling them that it's a slow lost n that I wasn't going to come back a Barbie doll. Lol. Y'all are right I have lost 23 lbs n feel great. I think I'll get together with them before just to show my face. I'm still gonna stay determined these next 2 weeks. I wanna loose!!! Thank you all for your comments

  13. I feel you:( I have been doing my food journal & staying under 1000 calories per day & can't seem to lose a thing!!! Ugh! I'm trying to stay positive but it is very hard. I have really been struggling.

Yeah I know. I just bumped up my exsersize n went 5 times last week n still lost nothing. This week since I'm not working yet I'm going twice a day. 2 classes of zumba. Wells see what happens

  14. So I've been off of work for about a month now n was banded on January 2nd. I'm embarrassed because before I left lots of peeps New about my surgery. My closer friends kept telling to make sure I come see them (I took 6 weeks off) cause they thought I would drop about 1000000 lbs (lots of weight) before I came back. I told them I would come by but I don't want to cause since I left I only dropped 8 lbs. I go back in two weeks n I want to really loose some more before I go back. I have bumped up my work out schedule to twice a day this week n will do the same next week also. I am also planning to eat 1000 calories a day. My daughter did the math n said "if " I do this everyday then I should loose 4 lbs a week. I did two zumba classes yesterday n Two today also. One zumba class burned me (at my weight, height, n intensity, according to YMCA's) 780 calories for 1 hour. I love the Zumba classes but this may b a little too much.... I'll check in everyday n let y'all know how I do. My weigh in day is on Sunday's n I'm at 219 right now.

  15. i was at my highest weight ever' date=' it was hard for me to walk and it was getting hard going to the bathroom...i felt i was as wide as i was tall..i was in serious trouble...i researched for 6 months all wls and liked the band...it took me some time to find a dr who accepted my insurance..by the time i found one, i was about to give up and then i found out i was going to be a grand mother....i wanted to be able to push the baby around the block...that was my goal..

my band and plication helps me eat less (and i mentally make myself aware of the foods i eat..if i eat, its going to be something good for me and filling and what i want)..my band helps me and that is why i love my band.

why was i banded...so i could save my life

    and for this:

my grandbaby eryn and my air force son wyatt[/quote']

Carolina girl this brought tears to my eyes, it reminds me of why I got my band. I love my family so much n have a great relationship with My kids, siblings, nieces, nephews, brother n sister in laws, n yes even my in laws. Not only do I have a great family but I also married into a great family. What would I ever do without them n what would they ever do without me! I'm not going away because of my weight.

B-52 my band has given me motivation n hope. Hope to have a future full of life vs. The life I had been living. I was taking 2-3 hour naps a day n now just from working out I try taking a nap n can't because I have energy. The band gave me that extra motivation I needed n I know that I have to follow lap band rules or else I'm gonna b in trouble. On WW I could eat whatever I wanted as long as I didn't go over my points. I could eat all my points in one meal if I wanted to with the band I can't. The band keeps me satisfied for hours which is what the band is made to do not to fill me up or change my feelings about food. My 1cup of food lasts for hours. If I didn't have the band n only ate one cup of food I'd b "starving" in an hour. Although our brain isn't banded I know the band has helped me make better, n healthier food choices n almost feels like I have a band around my brain.
