  1. No carbs here either. I'm a carb addict too and haunt any is like opening Pandora's box for me.
  2. Very different. My doc says no straws ever.
  3. I agree. I think it's the body detoxing. I wish it just wouldn't do it all over my face!
  4. Seriously, carbs are evil for me. I don't care how small of a portion of them I eat...they leave me starving and I end up gaining weight. Even fruit has this effect on me...it totally makes me hungry. So I hit the meat, eggs, and veggies (when I have room). I think that's a good part of the reason I don't get hungry between meals even though I don't have a fill.
  5. Yes!!! 101 cheers and what a riot that you hit the 101 mark on Fat Tuesday! You give it a whole new meaning! Congrats CG!!!
  6. I have no idea what's going on with my face! I awe at I'm developing cystic acne. I got myself some Aveda outer peace wash and lotion and that's helping a lot. I'm treating myself to a facial this weekend too. I'm sure it will clear up soon. A lot of trauma going from eating like a pig to liquid shakes pre op to the post op diet. My body is probably all jacked up and confused!
  7. Are they happy tears or tears over the Coors? :-D yuk yuk yuk You are doing it and I love it. Pretty soon you're going to be posting bikini pics!!!
  8. I carry a certain size bottle as well and use an app to record every time I refill it. Crystal light is good. I just bought the Mio fruit punch and thought it was awful so I dumped the bottle and went back to plain water.
  9. Huh. Cards? I've got nothing. Haven't tried ordering off a child's menu yet. I've been ordering appetizers or entrees which I either bring home or send home with my parents.
  10. You know what I love? You are never complaining about being hungry or what you can't eat (except that pesky Coors!). You are just plowing full steam ahead and working it! No whining or pity party for you. You ARE an inspiration...go ahead CG!!!
  11. I haven't been banded long. Since 12/21. I have a 10.5cc band and no fill. I still can't do one cup of food. I have my 3oz of protein and very rarely can I have a side veggie or salad. I have no intention of getting a fill anytime soon. I'm down 45lbs total...23 on pre op and 22 more since 12/21. I am very satisfied on the amounts I'm eating and don't snack. I don't know how long this is going to last but I'm definitely going to roll with it and enjoy it!
  12. I'm just recently banded on 12/21 but full size dinner plates freak me out now! Salad plates only please! :-)
  13. Cracked my toilet seat too. To top it off couldn't get out to buy a replacement for a few days and got goosed several times...it hurts like crazy!
  14. My taste buds have also gone mutant. I even tried to eat a grape earlier and it tasted horribly sweet to me. I'm all about the salt now and find myself liking foods I didn't care for so much before.
  15. I also had the "what in the hell did I just do moment" the next day. Only because I can't believe I just had surgery to place a foreign object in my body. But I dismissed it and figured I was going to work this band/lifestyle like a rock star! Don't sweat it. However, I have to say the walking and the heating pad were my lifesavers!!! I read about that pre-surgery on the boards here and it helped so much. I couldn't find the Gas X strips here because apparently everyone in the suburban Chicago area must have a major gas problem. Couldn't find the strips to save my life, but turns out I was just fine without them.
  16. I was able to sleep on my stomach after about 7 days but i had to be careful. I turn from side to side to stomach. I couldn't do the crawl on all fours method because whenever I leaned over like that it felt like everything was pulling down on my stomach and it was very uncomfortable for me. However I'm sure if I kept my hand over my port or used something else to brace it I'm sure that would have helped. Just didn't think of it then!
  17. I took it day by day. I focused on getting through today and figured I would deal with tomorrow when it got here. You can go this. Get plenty of rest so you have the energy to get through this and know that it's not forever.
  18. I parked it on the couch propped up on pillows with a heating pad for the first 5 days. After that I moved into bed but the sleep wasn't the best because I'm also a side and stomach sleeper. After a week I was able to sleep on my side. Hang in there...all in good time. :-)
  19. I have six. Four of them are like paper cuts. Another is about one inch and a couple inches to the left of that I have a 1-1/2 inch scar where the port is.
  20. Too funny.
  21. What about dancing? Whether at home, a club, or class? House cleaning? Gardening? Shoveling snow? Walking around the store/mall if you like to window shop? Swimming? Those are a few things I do to keep me on my feet. Exercise, unfortunately, isn't my favorite thing either.
  22. Chris - My doc also forbids chewing gum for two reasons: 1) chewing gum causes people to gulp or take in extra air which causes bloating which can stretch the pouch and 2) you can swallow it and it can get stuck. Not sure if those are LuuLuu's doc's reasons, but that's what I was told. :-)
