I buy basics...like a couple of pairs of black pants and I rotate them. AND I also buy the clothes just a wee bit tight. Although a little uncomfortable to start I know they will be just fine in a couple if weeks and then I wear those until they get a bit too baggy.

6 weeks out and weight loss?

I also have the magic bullet black edition. Got it got my bday pre surgery because I knew I was going to need it. LOVE IT! And it's very portable and small and even though I'm on solids if I need to blend any batter or anything I still use it. I also pulse it a couple of times for a quick chop.

Congrats! You do look great!

Non Band related but important.

Crazy. I was so paranoid about this that I set my cell alarm for every hour and was up walking for 10 minutes. I was sleepy but I knew I needed to move. I was terrified. -
So what time is dinner? :-)

I found a similar recipe for those meatballs that includes some blue cheese and green onions but I have to agree with you that they are super yummy and very filling. I made a batch of 60 and popped them in the freezer. A minute in the microwave and they are good to go. I'm hooked on EmilyBites too!

During my full liquid phase post op I averaged about 300-500 calories per day. I was doing about 2oz of liquid about 5 times a day. But that's all I could fit in and that's just me. It definitely built up and now I also average 800-1000 calories per day. No health or dizziness issues. :-)

Portion Size
Jewelsm1127 replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Again tremendously different. My surgeon and nutritionist days yes there is a pouch and it holds about 4oz. I also have the 1 cup rule. I always weigh any meat I eat. I will also weigh cheese or basically anything dense and heavy. If its a veggie I use a measuring cup but I don't squash anything down (too much) :-). Always go with doctors orders and if they are not clear than pester them with questions until you are sure you understand. You paid them...they are working for you! :-) -
Personal trainer or not?
Jewelsm1127 replied to Blondie638's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I live personal trainers. Can't afford one either. They run about $120 per hour in my neck of the woods. I paid for a few sessions back in the day and then used what he taught me to work out on my own. But I do live when they are around to push you to go the distance. Kind of keeps me from wussing out. But you can definitely work out at home or at a gym on your own. There is also tons of info on the Internet for various exercises if you don't want to invest in a DVD or don't know what to choose. Maybe even try your library and see what they have? -
Not losing-plateau, I don't know, wrong foods, maybe, what do you eat day to day? Help!
Jewelsm1127 replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Donna - I invested in a Cuisinart 'Griddler'. I have the large one. You can use it as an open grill or griddle or use it closed as a grill or panini press. I use it closed to grill burgers. It preheats in a few minutes and I've cooked a huge juicy burger (pre band) in five minutes flat. I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond on sale and with a coupon. I have an outdoor grill but this is great for winter and quick and easy and perfect for just a small meal. Easy to clean up etc. I like it much better than the George Foreman grills. Just thought I'd mention in case you haven't thought of something like that. Or you can even get a stove top grill pan too! -
It Just Stopped!
Jewelsm1127 replied to Spaness2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
SCREEEEECCCHHH!!! That was my weight loss coming to a dead stop when I started on mushies. Same as you...didn't budge. Soft foods? Nope. Didn't move. Two or so weeks of that but I just kept on going. Started up on regular solid food, high protein meats and eggs...woosh...off the weight came again. Don't be bummed. Chin up...the next two weeks will fly by anyway. :-) -
So I ordered 20 boxes. Yep. 20. 10 from my niece and 10 from my BFFs daughter. My BFF was instructed to send them to the troops :-). The boxes I hit from my niece have been distributed to coworkers. I had 1 shortbread Trefoil and 1 lemon Savana Smile cookie. That was more than enough for me. BUT I also know better than to order the Samoas. Seriously? Who in their right mind could resist those?! :-)

How much weight have you lost?
Jewelsm1127 replied to MyCosita's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Banded 12/21. Lost 23lbs on pre op and 25lbs Since being banded for a total of 48lbs. -
Oh and I weighed in at about 256 the day of surgery and I do have belly fat! I think it was just swollen from the incision. Right now you can't see it but you can feel it with a little bit of pressure.
-
My port stuck out like a golf ball at the incision. Its gone down nicely. Also I was bloated beyond all get out from the gas. Slowly but surely everything went back to normal.

I was wishing I could burp post op. I felt like I needed to but no dice. Now I burp here and there but nothing bad. -

My weight loss came to a screeching halt post surgery. As soon as I started back on solid foods it picked up again. -
