    hidradenitis suppurativa (hs)

Fritzy - yep, I've noticed nothing encouraging out there either. I can go sometimes without any boils but that lasts only about a week or two. I just try to leave them alone. I've also used Hibiclens to wash in the inner thigh and that seems to help me a bit.

    hidradenitis suppurativa (hs)

Had this issue since I was a kid. Mostly on the inner thighs. I also use hot compresses and just try to leave them be until they heal. Painful, embarrassing, you name it. Of course there is no stinking cure and mine seems to flare up mostly during TOM.

Hi! I'm New to this Forum

Ditto here but slow and steady wins the race! I lost 6.5 lbs in March but as long as its not going up I'm totally ok with that!

    Sleeping after surgery

I also slept propped on pillows and a heating pad on my sofa for the first 2-3 days. Then I was able to comfortably lie down in bed, but not on my stomach...took me another week before I was able to do that and a couple of days after that I was able to start sleeping on my side, yes, with the pillow propped up under my stomach to keep it from pulling. You would think that port weighs 10lbs or something with the way the pull felt right after surgery!

    Cravings!!

TexasGal - I'm right there with you. Pre-surgery I liked my sweets, now I can't get enough of salt so I often eat dill pickles or pickle slices because they are sour but super salty too. I just say that my taste buds have gone mutant since surgery, but I don't mind it and, in fact, find it kind of funny at all the things I'm dying for now that I wasn't too keen on before!

    Port Bugs Me

Mine sticks out a bit too but I can't feel it when I am lying on my back. I had surgery 12/21 and it only bugs me once in a while depending on how tightly I'm bent over or twisted on that side like when I shave my legs or bend over to fill the cat food dishes. I just adjust my angle. It was for a good cause so I'm totally ok with it.

My Band is a Large 10cc

Surgery 12/21, 10cc band...no fills and I would say its my sweet spot.

    Crazy question???

Yep first week I didn't go at all. After that I went every couple of days and I'm on fiber gummies. Still not necessarily going every day but definitely much better and don't feel bloated or constipated.

    Postop question

I did too. It wasn't huge but enough to come theology the surgical tape and onto the shirt I was wearing. Mine eased up after a couple if days. Just keep an eye out for infection otherwise I think it's totally normal...or at least my doc told me it was! :-)

    Swollen stomach

Don't panic. My weight loss didn't kick in until week 4 when I went back on solid foods. Everything you are going through us quite normal. Poke around the boards and you will find a bunch if entries just like yours. Rest up and heal. You will be just fine! :-)

    Weird

Yes! It's awesome! I bought a blazer for work and bought it snug. Pulled it out a couple of weeks ago and it's baggy as can be! Sneaks up on ya, doesn't it? :-)
  12. Ditto here. Mushies = screeching halt to the weight loss. Once I was back on solid foods things started picking up again. Don't worry about it at all. Keep on keeping on!
  13. I'm a Reese's peanut butter egg girl myself. I steer clear of all candy aisles at the store!

In the name of Captain Kirk

You guys are killing me with laughter! I was told 2-4 oz 4-6 times a day until I worked up 4 weeks after surgery. But I'm sure you are ok. Just ease back. It's not like you ate solids. Just go with your instructions now since you caught it.

    Day 2 pre op starving

15 days of protein shakes and clear liquids here too. Just get through each day one at a time and hang in there. You can make it!

    Day One of Pre-Op Diet...help?

Keep in mind you are detoxing sugar and caffeine. Get the rest you need. It took me 3-4 fats before my energy picked up again. You can do it!

    Bacon??

Why not? BK and Denny's have bacon I've cream sundaes! I also eat bacon...almost every day. Breakfast is my most substantial meal. I find as the day goes in the less hungry I get. Also since surgery I love everything salty versus the sweets like I used to. However I don't have a fill so it doesn't affect me at all. But I darn well make sure I count those calories! :-)

    Feeling your port

I also felt mine from day 1 and I'm the freak that goes to the people I know "go ahead, you know you want to touch it". Hey, we all have out issues! :-)
  22. Holy crappers! What a difference...you are awesome!

This was not in the brochure

Almost wet myself reading this. Thanks so much for providing a humorous spin to your daily trials! I'm going through some of the same stuff too!
