Yep, that definitely wouldn't be a good thing!

Eating on a motorcycle would certainly be interesting! Nope you don't have to have meat just protein and watch your carb intake. When I think protein I automatically think meat because I'm such a carnivore and I was trying to think of something you can grab and go. :-)

You said it! I keep wet wipes in there. I'm totally spill prone. I only eat in the car when I absolutely have no other option, otherwise I wait until I am at work and can eat on a level surface! :-)

    Pasta!

Well heck... I couldn't wait to get back to regular foods and I was counting the days but fear won over and I didn't start until my doc said I could. You can make it, the food will still be there and you will have a whole new appreciation for it! Hang in there!

    Ok maybe im thick!

My doc said about 3 ounces of protein like chicken or fish. About the size of a deck of cards. Yes, one cup of chicken would kill me right now. I measure out my meat on a food scale and then I'll have about 1/2 cup of a veggie with it. That holds me for 4-5 hours.

Tuna and cheese snacks are portable. I don't eat until I get to work either. And I am also up at 5am or earlier. Also, what about pre cooking a package of turkey bacon or some turkey or chicken sausage? You can grab and go and even eat in the car if needed. Sounds like you are definitely short on calories and water. But it also sounds like you're on a mission to work on it. If you're willing to do that you can make it happen! Wishing you lots of luck!

    1st week post op weightloss?

Everyone is different so don't let what others lose get you down if you don't lose the same. I was banded 12/21. Lost 23lbs pre op. 7lbs the week after surgery. Nothing the two weeks after and when I got back on solids after that I dropped an additional 9lbs for a total loss of 39lbs so far. Any loss is a great loss!

    :(

Don't even worry!!! You are swollen and stitched and all that. My weight loss didn't pick up until I started solids about 4 weeks post op. You are doing just fine...take it easy, continue to follow your doctors rules and the weight loss will come in time. You need to heal.

    Doin the Pants Dance!

Peaceful - shake it if you got it and especially if it fits in the pants. Rock it girl!!!
  11. Ha! I just came back from one! Banded on 12/21 and today was my first deep tissue post op. no problems whatsoever. I thought I would have an issue with my port and being on my stomach with the pressure. Zip zero nada. No problems or discomfort and believe me my therapist lays into me with some pretty serious pressure. However I did get clearance from my doc to do this. I don't think you should have any problems. :-)

    Mushy stage

I was on liquids one week, mushies second week, soft on the third and moved to solids on the fourth. My doc said long term one cup per meal is what I should have. But I had to progress to that. First week 1/4 cup 5-6 times a day. Second week 1/2 cup 4-5 times per day, etc. they gave me a whole schedule. I was banded 12/21 and am at about 3/4 - 1 cup 3 times per day and that seems to be working for me. No fills yet. Every person and every doc is definitely different. Just follow your doc's orders and good luck!!!

    Pasta!

Ditto Donna - my doc also said steer clear of pasta, rice and bread. Not only because of the high carb count but also because it sometimes gets stuck. At 11 days post op I was on soft foods like tuna and chicken and cooked veggies. I didn't want to chance anything so I went with doc's orders. Your stomach is still healing. Why chance it? Maybe the soup would be the better route? Also I know my taste buds went mutant since having surgery. I used to be a red meat girl and I don't really care for it anymore. I couldn't stand pork but now that's all I've been eating! Who knows? You may not even care for the pasta as much as you used to? :-)

    Southwest Chicago Burbs

I was born and raised on the south side of chicago "east side". My brother still lives in hegewisch. I eventually found my way northwest and currently live near Rockford but once a south sider always a south sider! :-)

    Food post op

Jayde - I was banded 12/21. No issues here either. I could eat anything and I do mean anything. No stuck issues no reflux. However I'm at about 3/4 cup of food and I'm quite comfy. As for me I like it this way so I'm going to try to hold off on getting a fill. I don't want to get stuck or worry about vomiting or reflux. I'm sticking with the high protein and the weight is coming off just fine. So far my will power is holding up and I'm going to take advantage of that while I can. That way I can enjoy everything I'm eating and the fills will be there when and if I need them. I think you are doing ok. From what I've read on these boards the issues don't start to come about until you start getting fills. Enjoy it while you can! :-)

    Not losing anymore :(

You are not alone! I couldn't break 500 cals during mushies and didn't lose a pound then either. Started on solids and the calories went up to 800-1000 and the weight started coming off. Don't worry about it...just keep doing what you are doing!
  17. Missy - you rock! WOOOWWWW!!! Looking great!

    December Bandsters!! How Ya Feeling??

Banded 12/21. Down 39lbs since pre op diet. My appetite still isn't fully back. So far so great! I haven't had any other issues. I'm loving it!

    cold in chicago

Way back in the day we did and yea, you stick like crazy! No way to come off without some damage or warm water!

    cold in chicago

Living in the burbs of Chicago I can say yep it's cold, but not that darn bad. Or maybe I'm just used to it? :-). I think Minnesota has it worse at 35 below zero. Today we are around 20 degrees and back up to 50 next week. But needless to say I won't be trying to stick my tongue on any light poles!

    got another PM, did you?

You guys are totally cracking me up!

    Question???

I never took the gas x. Every store in my vicinity seemed to be out of the strips. I used a heating pad and walking...kept the pain from gas to a bare minimum.
  24. Kathy - I had to use Bariatric Advantage too but I was allowed to add frozen or fresh fruit or peanut butter and even some nuts to it. I liked the chocolate blended with frozen strawberries. Not sure if you are allowed to do this but if yea I highly suggest you try it. Makes them more filling and much tastier!
