  1. First off are u still suppose to be on shakes? Have they not let u move on to something different? Anyway what flavor have u tried? If u like sweet I have found that adding in 1 tbsp of sf ff butterscotch pudding and a small amount of peanut butter mixed with a chocolate shakes helps a lot. Or making a peanut butter chocolate one or a peanut butter banana chocolate shake. Hope that gives u a few options to try!
  2. It will get better. I did a lot of walking around the house and the heating pad. I even continued to take pain meds if it got bad. Good luck!
  3. The unflavored also gives me problems. Idk. I get to start with creamy soups today so I'm hoping I will be able to find enough substitutes of natural protein cause they seem to sit well with me better. I had a very small spoonful of refried beams and cottage cheese and didn't have any problems at all. So I'm going to try and blend those into soups! :-) thanks
  4. Well that's good glad it alleviating itself! I'm on day 8 now. Get to start creamy soups. I did try a small spoonful of refried beans and cottage cheese yesterday. They both seemed to go down fine. I took a very long time chewing them though. Haha
  5. Ok thanks. I will try anything at this point. I only had today left until I start creamy stuff tomorrow.
  6. Ok so for the past 3 days I still haven't been able to get one full meal down due to what I assume is horrible gas pain. I was banded on 12/13. I've been up walking around being active. It takes a good 3-4 hours before it subsides then I finally get hungry again and try all over. I once again get about 1/4-1/2 cup of protein shake drank before that feeling comes back again. I can't even get down water afterwards. I don't want to get dehydrated and I know I need my nutrients as well but I'm at a loss. What am I doing wrong? Please help!!!
  7. That's great! Hope that its getting u closer to where u need to be for sure! I'm def not looking forward to my first full. Maybe I will get lucky and not have to have one. Lol
  8. I still have the symptoms and its been a week. It's mostly just when I wake up or after I drink anything with Protein in it. Not usually after Water.
  9. I haven't been able to find any adult except liquid Tylenol. I just got the children's. I only take 20ml which is 400mg. It last a while. I actually for mine at the dollar store this time cause I didn't want to go to Walmart just for that. It was like 4 bucks. Hth
  10. To add I've also heard if u lose it at a slow steady pace and work out that the elasticity will be better so therefore less loose skin. It's hard to know for sure though. The loses skin I def way better than the health problems u might develop from being obese!
  11. Yw. The pain from the surgery isn't too bad except where the port is which is on the left side. The incision pain isn't bad at all. It's the gas pain that's worse.
  12. I don't really have any before except to find the protein shakes u like. I found one that I actually really like and can tolerate. I use chocolate protein powder with ff milk add in a tsp of peanut butter and 1 tbsp of sf ff butterscotch pudding powder. It's called a butterfinger shake. I'm a sweets person so this def helps me. I'm post op day 7 and am finishing up my shake today. It def helped the shake go down smoother. As far as for afterwards.... Make sure u things are within your reach. Have a pillow to be able to hold against your tummy if u have to cough. Invest in a heating pad and liquid ibuprofen for when u don't need the actual pain meds. Be prepared for lots of possible discomfort from gas pain which can occur anywhere. I never took the gas x strips cause the hearing pad did the trick do me but It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have those handy too!
  13. Yeah I completely understand. It very uncomfortable. It's also def worse in the mornings. I have found that since I'm not taking the pain meds anymore that taking liquid ibuprofen has helped. I take it twice daily while I'm awake. Like once when I first get up then again right before I go to work at 3. I assume this is what's helping thur the day cause it reduces inflammation!
  14. Merry Xmas to u too! I'm still a newbie but I feel like this forum will def help me keep my sanity! Haha
  15. Yes very normal. I'm post op day 7 and I still feel like that with certain liquids. It's al the swelling just try to take small sips.
  16. Oh wow that's crazy! When is your surgery date? I guess every surgeon is different and it might have to do with your bmi. Who knows? Yes unfortunately very normal. You're hungry and that's probably why. Not sure why it makes u feel like that but mine always does when I'm hungry. Maybe the constant twisting is upsetting it? Try some hot tea with honey and/or lemon. See if that eases the nausea! Hope that feeling goes away!
  17. Yeah unfortunately that's normal. Do u not get a meal? Mine was 2 shakes and then a normal dinner. Just curious?
  18. I just bought the 100% premium protein which is way the doc office recommended from SAMs. It's only powder. I mix it with ff milk and some peanut butter and butterscotch pudding. It's delicious!
  19. I was just ready a thread a couple of days ago except most of them only went on liquids for a couple of days instead of the full 5 and it seemed to help from what I read! I can't remember where I read it though sorry! Hope it works for you!
  20. Ok. That's what I thought! My middle name is Nicole. First name is maegan btw which is what I do go by lol! How are u doing on everything? Where are u at on your diet?
  21. A heating pad has helped me a whole lot with the gas pain. Mine was sitting in my neck and upper back. Some shoulder and even in the collarbone. The heating pad def helped me they it. I finally am hungry today. My diet says to have 3 Protein shakes and then 2 of a certain list of items which include sf pudding Jello yogurt or yogurt smoothie and applesauce. I figured as long as I stick to that consistency and make sure I'm getting enough protein I should be good. That's a good IDE about putting beef broth in the tomato soup! I did tomato soup with Protein powder. I don't seem I be able I get much down. It's too frothy. Hard to explain!
  22. I haven't had that problem Yet but I'm sure your muscles are just twitching from the trauma. Try using a pillow against your incision when u do sneeze. I mean I know sneezing is random but if can hold something agains u hen u feel one coming on!
