  1. I am three weeks post-op and am having a hard time finding protein drinks that don't leave a horrible taste in my mouth. It started after surgery and i was diagnosed with thrush and a yeast infection, i thought that after that cleared the taste would go away, but it hasn't. I have tried multiple types of drinks, isopure, slim-fast low carb, a couple different flavors from supplement superstores, and unflavored any whey, but they all have the same after taste. Does anyone have any ideas or helpful hints to get rid of this taste or new ideas of things i can try? Any advice would be really helpful! Thank you!
  2. Thank you so much for the tip! I am so tired of the same nasty protien drinks and they leave a horrible taste in my mouth! Can't wait to try this!
  3. I was banded on Nov 27 and plan to return to work on Dec 13. My doctor feels that you need a few weeks to acclimate to the new way of eating and making sure that you know how to get in your calories and protiens. Plus that first week is HARD. I am not very far out and still struggle with finding things that i can tolerate to eat and getting all of my protein in. Plus i was just able to start sleeping in my bed on tuesday night, for a week i slept in the recliner because it was to painful to lay flat and the pulling feeling from the port was unnerving to me. If you can take a few weeks i would highly reccomend doing it, if not for the diet factor then to peace of mind and healing. Good luck with your journey!
  4. I have not tried chicken yet, but tried scrambled eggs today and it did not end well. I didn't think that i over ate but about 20 minutes later it turned ugly. Kind of makes me nervous to try chicken hearing all the problems that people have had. So far eggs and noodles are not my friends.
  5. Congrats on you awesome loss! That is amazing. I am one week out and feel like i haven't lost anything at all. I had my follow up yesterday and had lost 5lbs. I am super frustrated. Everyone i talk to says, "oh you are still swollen", or "oh i am sure it is just the retained IV fluids", but i am buying it. I sat in the office yesterday and just cried, i was so dissappointed. Between the horrible gas pains, thrush (which i was totally not prepared for), and what i consider poor weight loss, it has been a rough last few days. I just joined this site, and am hoping to find some support in people who know what i am going through, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
