  1. I chose LB for a variety of reasons, first off it was the least invasive. WLS is something that I swore I never would have to do, so when I finally came around to do it, I chose the WLS with the lowest complication rate and the possibility of it being reversible (It also has the slowest loss of the three current surgeries). Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the other surgeries, in fact if for whatever reason I lost my band, I would probably revise to a sleeve. BUT, I could never have gone there in the first place, it was just too radical a choice for me. Now 10 months later, I wish I had made the decision years before, I have dropped 60 pounds and am wearing a size 36" waist, something that I couldn't do as a freshman in high school. I am an avid Road biker, and just picked up my first Mountain bike. I have another 40 to lose, but I'm in no hurry, it will happen if I listen to my band. But if I don't lose another pound, my band has been a success based on the increased quality of life that I enjoy now. As you make your decision, focus on the facts, not just our stories and choose the surgery that you are comfortable with and no matter which one you choose, it is still going to be a heck of a lot of work to be a success.
  2. Sorry, not old enough to remember him personally, I will have to take your work for it.
  3. I personally am more concerned that he is banded (or has hand any other type of WLS), given how finicky my band can be in dealing with stress, I can only imagine how it would be in that position.
  4. I wrestle with emotional eating, using food as a calming agent in high stress situations and with boredom in the evenings.
  5. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/12/sarah-palin-chris-christie_n_4261905.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000009 FYI, I don't care about your political views, I posted this because Christie is a bander and because of Palin's comment. Please don't turn this into a political flamewar, that isn't what this forum is about.

  7. For most of us, I good food scale, measuring cups and spoons are vital to our success. After 8 months, my eyes are still bigger than my what my body needs.
  8. Ditto on what Jean said. Each Dr. fills differently, so the number of times doesn't mean much.
  9. B -52 ever since I saw you recommend this a while back, I do it for a couple of days, a couple of times a month and each time I walk away feeling like I have a brand new band.
  10. Color, lots of Color. Like I tell people, I am only white on the outside, and I am working with my artist to correct that
  11. I was talking to the Artist and it is time to start doing some fill on my half sleeve, and he suggested a flower dissolving into butterfly's like this one. So I will be talking to him in the near future start the planning.
  12. It is a reference to 2 Corinthians 5:17
  13. It really is a workout, I got to the place on my road bike that I wasn't even breathing heavy at all, today I thought I was going to bust a lung trying to make up a hill, using low, low and standing just to get the power to keep moving forward.
  14. Home made refritos (refried beans), with cheese.
  15. I didn't know you where an ice hockey fan.
  16. Since the exercise forum seems to have disappeared (along with all the posts), I'll post this here. I took a day off of work today, to take advantage of the warm weather and take my first real ride on my new mountain bike. All I can say is that 15 mph on a trail, is faster than 45 mph on the road with my road bike. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/401494587 My pup has already learned the difference between my Road and Mountain bikes. She doesn't move a muscle when she sees me prepping my road bike, but wouldn't leave my side when I was getting the Mountain bike ready today. What am I doing wrong??? My Road bike never got this dirty!
  17. Check the date Missy, recent content isn't so recent right now.
  18. So I did the only reasonable thing, I went out today and bought a new bike! http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/bikes/model/talon.29er.2/14841/66268/#overview Just got back from my first trail ride and that was a blast and I think my dog may have a heart attack from trying to keep up with me.
  19. Depends on your Dr., but every 2 weeks was my Dr.'s schedule for fill appointments.
  20. DANG IT CG!!! You told me that if I sent you that video of myself, you would keep it private!!! Now it is going to be all over the Internet, how am I supposed to explain that to my wife?
  21. Well, she wasn't seeing me then, the lights were out and as for doing things that I never thought she would do? I'm pretty sure there are laws against those types of things in Utah.
  22. You have never rubbed me at all, let alone the wrong way. At least I don't remember being rubbed by you, but there was that one time that I drank too much, and woke up I'm that strange motel room working a purple tutu....
  23. My wife, "You have hip bones! I have never felt a man's hip bone before!" Don't worry about when and where this comment took place.
  24. People don't usually realize how what they are saying actually sounds. If I know that heart of the person, I just let it slide, if I feel they are just being an a*****e, I will usually respond with "Well, we can't all be as special and perfect as you"
