  1. I'm headed to the gym for the first time on Friday. I didn't work out before surgery, other than walking to and from the refrigerator. :blushing: I'm not sure what I should do my first time out. I don't want to be dying the next day. LOL. My surgery was 2 weeks ago, do I need to start off slow? I prefer the elliptical over the treadmill (clearly, as I have a treadmill that hasn't seen my booty in years). Should I do any of the machines, or just cardio? Or just walking? Or just sit in the hottub and then say "oh yeah, great workout!"? Help!
  2. How about if I drive in the car next to you? :blushing:
  3. It's made from chickpeas and garlic. It's super yummy. You wouldn't eat a bowl of it or anything, just a little bit on crackers. In the old days I ate it on pita bread.
  4. I don't disagree. I did my research and never found any compelling reason to pick one over the other, so I deferred the decision to the doctor. He actually suggested I get the Realize since I'm a web junkie, but ended up giving me the AP band. Seems to be working, and I haven't died, so at this point I'm ok with his decision. :blushing:
  5. Yay! Glad to hear you made it through unscathed! Welcome to the flip side!
  6. And btw, I'm still new to this. But I've just been ordering soup and then picking off my husband's plate to go with it. I really don't see the need to cause a big scene, and none of our favorite places are going to give me any trouble.
  7. What the hell? They wouldn't let you share a plate? That's insanity!!!!
  8. My doctor asked me if I had a preference or if I wanted him to put the one that 'fit in there best'. Obviously I went with choice B. I don't care if I have the one that is new or trendy or what. I want the one that works best for MY body.
  9. I love my bullet!
  10. Well, you better be "OK" then because if he comes here and posts "not OK" with no details, we're all going to go insane worrying/wondering.
  11. There's a whole forum of 'em! December 07 Bandsters - Lap Band Talk Forum - The largest forum for Lap Band Surgery Discussion and Lap Band Surgery Support Enjoy!
  12. Wow, mine was $400 and included the nutrition classes, psych consult, etc. $5k is nuts!
  13. Woo hooo!! Man, I can't WAIT to join you!
  14. Wow, that's way more vacationy than mine was. Haha.
  15. Well, I'm glad all of THAT is behind you. Sorry about your fat liver, but at least he didn't say it was your butt that was too big? lol It's all better from here
  16. Bumping this up because quite a few recipes have started rolling in, so I think at the very least we will be able to get a PDF file out - which would be FREE! Remember, these don't necessarily have to be lapband specific recipes, although healthy would be good, and not so much bread.
  17. Woo hoo, got my appt! 18. I'm recently banded and plan to continue attending WW. I love the accountability and the people there! I will NOT be telling them I had surgery, though. Thanks for the tip about 20 points. I was wondering how on earth I'd eat 30 points a day and it not be ice cream. LOL
  19. Um.... no. I wouldn't.
  20. If someone wanted to PM me and tell me about major drama, I wouldn't be mad.
  21. I was there, too. And it was debilitating. But, honestly, once I lost the first 20, it didn't seem so impossible. And once I got under 70 to go, I was like "well, ok, I can do this..." Just focus on the first few. Even 5lbs is on the way to 100.
  22. Congrats to you! I grew up in Oakland County
  23. I did tell the kids not to say anything, it's my private business, etc, but being discreet is not one of her strong suits. The kids don't know WHAT surgery I had, I don't think, so at least I'm ahead there.
  24. Valley View is on my side of town, but still out of my jurisdiction. I don't leave Medina. LOL
