  3. Happy New Years Eve!!!! We did it December Bandsters! We have taken that first step toward healthier living. I am glad we all have each other in the 'post-operation' thread - it's kinda like moving your tassel to the opposite side at graduation. I am happy to have people who understand at my fingertips. I know I am not alone in this fight. Here's to a happier, healthier, more prosperous 2013! Have a great day everyone. It's the last one of 2012 so make it count.
  4. I can say I didn't think I could make it through my 15 day liquid diet. That was the first time I had ever attempted going without and a lot of people questioned whether or not I could do it. I made it through that phase and lost ten pounds in the process. Those days showed me that I could do this, I could control my eating habits. Since then I have continued to lose and was banded on dec. 19th. I have lost a total of 33 pounds. I have felt my willpower strengthen in the last few months. Getting passed the first hurdles opened the door for more confidence and control. I was have to say that MY willpower is strengthening as I am using it.
  5. I really enjoyed the sugar free Popsicles! The coolness felt good going down. I know every doctor is different but I can take a picture of my nutrition list and send it to you if you want it.
  6. Good luck! You will be fine. See you on the other side.
  7. I know exactly what you mean. Luckily my hubby is trying to eat better and lose some pounds since I got banded. I am glad he is taking extra caution in what he is eating now.
  8. You came to the right place. Glad everything is going well. I was just banded on the 19th. Keep us posted on your progress.
  9. Are you using the iPhone app? When you are on the list of your friends, there should be an 'add friends' button at the bottom. If you click on add friends using email addresses you can put in the username of the person you are wanting to add as a friend.

  11. It's funny how different the diets are totally different. My nutritionist specifically told me to try to avoid carbs. No potato soup during creamy soup phase. No mashed potatoes or grits during mushies. Even after I am eating regular food- try to avoid carbs! Lol. I thought for sure I could have both of those things.
  12. Congrats on graduating to mushies. I start Tuesday! Happy New Year to me!
  13. I think I am addicted to the scale. I know you should only weigh yourself once a week but I can't help it. My name is Jai and I am addicted to weighing myself. LOL
  14. I start mushies Tuesday too!!!!!! Yay! For us.
  15. Thanks for the responses. I am going to have to do a but of research to see where I should be to be healthy for my height. I am excited about this journey but nervous because aside from childhood, I can't remember looking at myself in the mirror and being smaller than a 20.
  16. I was banded on the 19th and I know what you are going through. Remember, you read about the journey of other people on here but everyBODY is different. There was a reason you chose this path. Maybe jotting it down, along with a couple of goals and placing it somewhere you can see it will help you stay positive. I know it's difficult. I am there now. I have highs and lows but I try to focus on why I did this. If you need to chat, let's chat. You are surrounded by friends here who know what you are going through. Keep that in mind.
  17. Awesome! Congrats! Gotta love the feeling of NSVs.
  18. Good luck!!!! You will be in our prayers! Keep us posted.
  19. Hey December 19th BANDits , can you believe its been a week already!
