  1. You look great! If you don't mind me asking, where/when did you start?
  2. How are you doing on the Dukan diet? I shared the link with my sister and she is thinking about trying it out.
  3. Thanks Blondie! It feels great Banjo! I feel the difference. How are you progressing? Everything ok with you?
  4. I am really not trying to be mean with this question but I have to ask: is there a hint of jealousy? I only told two friends about my surgery for a reason. One friend in particular I know would not have been supportive. If you have tried to express your frustrations, true friends will be understanding and willing to make adjustments. Is there a support group in your area? Maybe, until you can eat again, you need to surround yourself with people who know what you are going thought. If you need to chat, inbox me. You have a community of people of understand right here.
  5. 50 ponds down and out of the 300s. YAY!!!
  6. I am sorry you are dealing with this now at time where you would really want your friends to be supportive. I only told two of my friends and we adjusted plans because of my pre/post op diet. They didn't want to eat in front if me either so we did other things that didn't involve food. We have worked out together, window shopped, and went dancing. Why don't you plan an activity for you all to do together.
  7. I am so excited today. I can officially report that I have loss 50 pounds and I am out of the 300s!!! I am so happy I can hardly contain myself. I am trying to upload a before pic (pink shirt- family vacation last fall) and the after pic (black shirt- Mardi Gras, had to crop because it was Mardi Gras- I don't want to offend anyone LOL). I am so thankful to have somewhere to go to share not only my concerns but my joys. Not to many people know about my surgery. My hubby is working out/ and eating better and put on a shirt today he has not worn in almost a year. He has lost almost 30 pounds. Even my dog has lost 1.5 pounds. A family that works out together gets healthy together! YAY!
  8. Thanks for the responses ladies. I have been shopping my closet (ranges from 24-28) so I won't really be shopping for a while... Maybe just a little. It's more of the wanting this so bad, I guess. I started a little over 350 so I know what you mean, Mis. I see a lot of the before pictures of people and I think to myself, "man you were small." Now that I haven't mindset that I want to so this I am ready for things to start happening. I just have to keep telling myself- its a marathon, not a sprint.
  9. Hello All!!!! Just checking in with my December Band-Its. Hope everyone is doing well in their journey. I have had one fill at 1.5cc and my dr wanted to wait to give me another one. My first "mini goal" was 50 pounds total loss and I am 3 pounds away. YAY! I have had moments of weakness but I keep telling myself that this is a marathon - not a sprint. We can do this buddies!
  10. Please don't take this the wrong way. I am 47 pounds down since the start of my journey (banded Dec. 19) and I am very pleased with my progress. In watching some videos on YouTube and reading some responses on here I am seeing how people are dropping dress sizes left and right even with as low as 30 pounds loss. I am ready to lose a dress size or two! LOL I can still wear my same size. Don't get me wrong, everything is baggy, I just don't think I can justify shopping just yet. We are all different from our doctors to our journeys to our body types and weight falls off differently for different people. I am just itching to buy a new outfit in a smaller size.
  11. Hey DAWalsh, I completely agree with Tango. No one is perfect. There is no need in beating yourself up about these things. We are all in the same boat. I can understand getting upset because we all want this so bad but aside from making yourself feel like crap, what are you gaining. I know I don't do everything correctly. I don't get nearly the exercise I should but I am still at 49 pounds loss total. That in itself is a huge victory for me. Two more pounds and I will be under 300. We all have weaknesses and we are going to have good and bad days. It's just human nature. Please don't beat yourself up because the mental part of this is very important. I am not sure if you are an emotional eater but I know being upset or depressed can lead you to more slip ups. Tango, my husband has switched to straight days too so I know exactly what you are going through. He is being somewhat helpful but not much. LOL
  12. You guys are truly inspirational!
  13. I referred to having a placebo in an older post. I know exactly how you feel.
  14. I only received primer (air) during surgery. He removed the air and put in 1.5.
  15. Ok. It's not just me. That makes me feel better. He scheduled me for a follow up in two months. We will see how this goes.
  16. I received my first fill a week ago and my surgeon only put in 1.5 cc. It seems like everyone else received higher than that on the first round of fills.
  17. Congrats to you!!!! Keep up the great work!
  18. Anyone from Louisiana part of the Head's Up program through OGB? I am a part of the program and I would love to share/keep up with you who are on this journey with me.
  19. I am in Baton Rouge. There is not too many active Louisiana people from what I can tell.
  20. My journey began in Oct. 2012 (banded Dec. 19th). Since then I have last 40 pounds. I will celebrate after this next ten pounds because not only will I be at 50 pounds loss but I will be out of the 300s. I am motivating myself to see that goal like never before. Six months ago I would have said it was a lost cause. But now I am more thrilled than ever. I changed my picture today to this pic I found on Bandster's blog. CHANGE! I can see it happening now. I am excited not only for me but for all of us. WE can do this!
