  1. So I'm 5 days post op.. Still feeling a lil crummy, still a little bitchy that I can't eat the good food I'm making the kids...but I know that it will pass and this is for the best. So I go in the bathroom for my daily weigh, I look at the scale and I'm determined I broke it. So I call my bf in the bathroom. "babe, come here! I think I broke the scale it's not giving me the right reading!" he comes in there and says if I get on this thing and it says 190 it's not broken..I'm like whatever it has to be it said I lost 5lbs in two days !! Well he gets on there and it says 190 on the dot for him. So that means I've lost 20lbs in 15 days!!! I haven't been this excited in a long time! And then of course he calls me a dork and goes back to his computer as I'm doing the boogy in the bathroom. Just thought id share my moment with all of you. ???

  3. Well i am finally a bandster! I was banded his morning and was told i would get to leave but i will be staying a night in the hospital. Ive been extremely sick to my stomach, unable to tolerate even ice chips, and my heart rate hasbgone from mid 70's to upper 40's. They want to keep an eye on me for at least 24 hours. I know this is painful now but im still hlsd i did thi. I have a horrible case of hiccups any suggestions on thiss?

  4. I do get to sit down a lot but it is still a lot of movement and stretching in my job , just because i can't reach lol. Thankfully though i can take off up to 2 months with my insurance and still get paid for being at home......I just don't want to be out that long. I get stir crazy after being in bed for 2 days after having my gallbladder removed.

  5. Well I first joined this site 4 years ago. I started the process then stopped due to having my third baby and didn't pick back up. On the 15th of November I was diagnosed with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. And my doctor told me I need to lose the weight and keep it off or else my liver would begin to fail after 20 years. Talk about a wake up call! I've got 3 kids and I want to live past 48 years of age. So I contacted my weight loss doctor. They ran my insurance and I still qualified with all my prerequisites done. So, I met with the nutritionist today and I'm waiting on the call to start my 10 day diet and find out my surgery date. I know already that I will be banded sometime in December. I have yo yoed in my diet from 270 to 209 then back up to 260. Which is where I am now. My long term goal is to get to 140 since I'm 28 and 5'3 with a medium build. But I can't wait to start this new journey. My doctor said I could be off work from 2 weeks to a month. What's the average down time after being banded and being able to have full mobility ? I look forward to joining the bandster club and getting back to being healthy and having a good support group.

  6. Well, Hi again! After almost 2 years of debating on lap-bands and trying new diets. I've finally taken the plunge! I go in for my psych evaluation, Physical therapy meeting in 2 weeks and my first group meeting. I've gotten everything out of the way that the insurance has asked for so now to do those and see the nutritionist before i can schedule my surgery. I've come back to this site to look up information again and set myself at ease about the whole procedure. I look forward to speaking with those who have had the surgery and look forward to being new banster!

  7. Well, I'm starting up again. Last year I was pre-approved by my insurance all I lacked was the psych eval and then we found out I was preggers.... So 7 Months after having the baby I'm starting the whole process again. I have to go to the seminar and turn in my paperwork again and try to get approved again with the insurance company. I'm hoping that it will go faster this time since I was approved last year. I am so ready to get the weight of having 3 kids off me ( plus those cheeseburgers I 've eaten over the past 20 years) I have my first Seminar on the 15th of Jan. I'm really hoping to be banded by this time next year if not sooner...
