  1. Anyone else November 4th?? I'd love to chat regularly with someone on my exact day ps - our Fall sleevers facebook page is full! But so many more people want to join a FB group, so someone just needs to start up a new one! It's SOOO easy to do! Then post it here and you'll get tons of responses!
  2. Yes!! it's DRAGGING and it sucks!!!!!!
  3. I can't send the email invite again, according to FB! Message me for more info!! I tend to lose things on this thread because I don't always see stuff!!!
  4. The Facebook group is set to "secret" so no one can find it. You need to be invited via email (send me to me through a personal message, easier for me to keep track of it!). If I told you that I sent you an email and you didn't get it, the only way to add you is for me to friend you on FB and then to add you that way (then to unfriend you because I'm crazy about who I have as friends on FB... no hard feelings So, send me a message with your email address or, if that didn't work, your name on FB so I can Friend you! We're going to limit our group to about 30 so it doesn't get all crazy and dramatic... we are at 20 now so if you want in, get back to me It's a GREAT group so far, we have a lot of good discussions about weight/food related stuff and other life stuff too!
  5. My surgeon gave me a surgery date of 11/4 on the first visit! I thought that was strange!!! But it makes me happy because it's a lot easier to plan, having so much time in advance!!!
  6. Boo girl, I did add you. Did you not get the email invite? In spam, maybe?! It won't let me invite you again. If you want, I can add you as my friend on FB and then add you that way?
  7. It's a secret group, so you can't find it. I can invite you if you give me your email address
  8. I invited you both via email! Let me know if it works! Introduce yourselves once you get to the group so everyone can say hello We are going to close the FB group when we get to 30 or so (we're at 18 now).
  9. I think as of now I added everyone! If you didn't get an email invite to the FB page, get back to me
  10. snapdragon, what was the support meeting like??? ps - if any of you want to join a Facebook group JUST for Fall 2015 Sleevers, message me your email address and I'll invite you. it's a secret group, with just people in the same stage!
  11. Thinner-me, it's called Fall 2015 Sleevers back2me1987, my sister is getting sleeved too, and her doctor doesn't require cardio clearance. I had a nuclear stress test and cardiac echo, I don't think those are done to everyone? Cindy, is a pap required?? I have never heard of that one!
  12. I'm glad to see so many Fall surgery buddies! I have had a little glitch, had a shadow on my nuclear stress test from cardilogist. I only had the stress test because I have some chest aches, I don't think they do it routinely? Anyway, now I have to have a cardiac cath on 9/15 to make sure it's nothing. Apparently, it could be a shadow from big boobs - go figure!! Hoping it's nothing so I can schedule my gastro EGD right afterwards and keep my November 4 surgery date!!! Good luck to everyone!!!!! It's going to be a fun Fall/Winter and hopefully a skinny spring
  13. Glad to meet you all!!! November is going to be a GREAT month!!! I can't wait! Well, I can... because I don't want summer to be over!
  14. My surgery is scheduled for November 4. It was scheduled on my first office visit but of course it is pending insurance approval and clearance. I have to have my nut and psych done by Aug 20, my next appointment with surgeon, in order to get insurance approval in time. So far, so good.
  15. We are almost on the exact same schedule!!! I met with my surgeon for the first time on July 13. I see them again on August 20 and by then, I need to have completed one nutritionist appt, one psych evaluation, and have received a letter of medical necessity from my PCP. Then I have until October to get a cardiology clearance, pulmonogy clearance and a gastro clearance including an EGD! It's a CRAZY amount of appointments and I'm going crazy!! But, assuming I get it all done on time and get approval from my health insurance, my surgery is scheduled for November 4! I'm so excited!!! Good luck on your journey!! Hopefully we'll be band buddies very soon!
  16. My surgeon's office scheduled my date on the first visit, which is so odd! I'm November 4th, assuming that I get approved and get all the necessary testing done in time!! I'm happy to see there's some other late Fall surgery friends on here!! Good luck!!
  17. I already have my date, just because that's how my surgeon's office works. They gave me November 4th, based of course on whether I get approved by my insurance, and finish ALL the appointments with specialists in the correct amount of time. It seems like FOREVER to wait, and I'm hoping to find some November buddies to wait with
  18. Wow, hello fellow May 07 Lapbanders!!! I was one of you! Unfortunately, I had many issues with my band. I did lost 80 pounds (still had 40 to go) but my band broke and I had to have surgery to repair it in 08. Then I started having really strange symptoms in 10/09, at first I thought it was Lyme Disease. Joint pain, mental changes, severe exhaustion... it was terrible and it went on for almost a year. I went to dozens of doctor's appointments and has MRIs of my brain, colonoscopies, all kinds of testing... It was terrible. Then, I found out my lapband broke again in 9/10 and I had it removed. I was sad to see it go but I felt 100% better within 3 days and I'm totally normal again without it. I guess I had a strange silicone reaction that was sort of immune mediated and it made me really sick!!!!! II was doing fine without it but in the past 6 weeks, I have suddenly gained 10- pounds and I feel like I'm eating like I used to before the band. I'm scared because I feel like I'm going to get to 300 pounds again.... I would have revised to something else when I had the band out but I was SO SICK that I just wanted the band GONE and didn't think about what would happen afterwards! Now, I wish I had a sleeve or even a RNY or SOMETHING... So that's my story. Not the greatest but I don't regret my band even with the illness it caused me, and I do kinda miss it!!! Jennifer
  19. That SUCKS!! I'm sorry to hear you're having problems! Since my repair surgery last year, I lost about 30 pounds but I stopped losing in October of last year. Around the holidays I had a lot of stomach pain and I FINALLY went to the doctor (I know, it took forever!!) and he's worried about a slip! I have a fill under fluroscopy scheduled for next month but it's possible that they'll find a slip and I'd need YET ANOTHER SURGERY! ACK! But, I'm down almost 80 pounds for almost 2 years so there is NO WAY they're taking out my band!! Even with these problems, it has changed my life and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!
  20. I was going in for my first fill when it was discovered via fluroscopy (they do all fills that way at my practice) that the tubing ends were disconnected. I had never heard anything like it, but there was another surgery done the same day as mine, right after me, and she had the same thing!! Go figure! Thankfully recovery has been MUCH easier than with the band initially and I have lost 9 pounds this first week!! YAY!! Because I got a fill during the surgery, thank the gods of weight loss!! LOL Interestingly enough, the tubing was poking my just under my ribcage on the right side, and when I told my doctor, he said it wasn't all the way over there but I knew it WAS, and it turns out that it WAS because it was seperated!!! It hurt at times, especially when I hunched over like when I was sitting in the floor with the kids!!! I'm just SO HAPPY that it's OVER!!! :smile2:
  21. My tubing apparently got seperated (I never realized it wasn't just one long piece!) and I have to have a FULL surgery tomorrow (meaning anesthesia, the whole deal) to reattach the tubing. I can't believe it. I'm so stressed and worried and miserable about it... I was just wondering if anyone else had their tubing come apart???
  22. I haven't been around here in a LONG time, but I thought I'd stop by and see how my fellow May 07 bandsters are doing!! I lost 50 pounds by november but the holidays killed me and I gained back 10. I went for my first fill (I could never get it scheduled and then got sick the day I was supposed to go in January) last week and it turns out that my band tubing has disconnected from my port, so I have to have surgery next tuesday to fix it, under anesthesia which really SUCKS! I'm trying really hard NOT to be discouraged but I was really hoping to have lost a LOT more by my one year, and it looks like I'll be lucky to get back under 250 (I'm 254 now, was 244 before thanksgiving) by my one year bandiversary. Kind of disappointing but I thought maybe I'd come back here and jump into the discussion and maybe get reinspired by how GREAT everyone has done, and how great I WILL DO once I get a fill and get my act together!! Just saying hello and jumping back in!! Jenny
  23. I went for my first fill last week and it was discovered that my tubing had disconnected from my port, so I have to have surgery next tuesday to get it reattached. I'm SOOOOOO depressed about it, and I was just wondering how common it is. I can't believe I have to go under anesthesia again, and I was SOOOO hoping for a fill that I desperately need and instead, I have to start over! UGH!!! Just wondering if I"m the only one! Jenny
