    Reaching Personal Goals?

I think when trying to get to goal some people still do the "diet" thing. They are very careful about what they eat and workout often. But once they are at goal, they'll have some dessert or an extra glass of wine. Or maybe they don't go to the gym everyday. They're no longer at a calorie deficit every day so they stop losing. For myself, I've counted calories every single day for over 10 months. But I've still had empty calories at times that would make my doctor frown at me. Occasionally I've had that second glass of wine or some dessert while out celebrating a special day. And my exercise regime is hit or miss. BUT I know me, I know what's realistic for me. And that's how I plan to live my life. And I've lost over 90 lbs. I have no idea at what weight ill stop at. BMI charts say 125. Guess I'll figure out when I get there.

Second fill I think I am too tight

To help you out until Monday: Drink something warm Take some Tylenol Eat mushies, if first bite bothers you drink something warm Take very very very small bites If you feel pressure don't take another bite, wait even get up and walk around And personally I wait it out after I get a fill as long as I can get liquids down. I will still take too big of a bite or a second bite too soon. This will cause some pressure or even a little pain. But that's my fault, not the band.

    Puree yogurt?

If it has fruit pieces you might want to or just don't eat them. Since you're just starting mushies it's best to be careful. For myself, the first few days I would only have something the texture you might feed to a six month old baby. Then I moved on to things that were still mushie but some chewing was required such as tuna fish and eggs. Remember to keep your bites small.

    Losing weight

You can take some Tylenol and put ice on your port. And exercise doesn't have to hurt to be worth doing. Just walking is exercise. This will be a long process. I've given myself two years to get to goal. That may seem like a long time but I needed to lose ~150 lbs and that amount just wasn't going to go away overnight. So please think about your situation and set realistic goals. This is a life style change. It's about being healthy. Not the number on the scale. Best if luck!

    Glue

My doctor said to let it come off on its own. Not to pull it even if had started coming off. Said it could trim the edges as they lifted up if they bothered me but not to rush it. I have scars but I'm light skinned and scar easily.
  6. This is truly just my opinion but you seem to be eating often and it might be more calories than you realize. The band is about satiety. It's common to go about four hours between meals. You did a great job of detailing everything but didn't mention calories. Losing weight requires fewer calories consumed than burned.

    caloric intake

Have those extra calories come from protein. Thats what your body needs if you're exercising more. And really you might just add an after workout shake and be pretty close to getting the calories in.

    Fitbit

I just noticed the Force is not waterproof like the Flex. I wonder why.
  9. For the first week I just don't think it's possible to truly be comfortable. I took my pain meds and then practically made a nest with pillows. Which every way I might have turned there was a soft pillow to rest on. Also try being active during the day. Just a lil bit will help you sleep better.

Ok. Adding on... I'm stealing my teenage son's clothes. Yeah I'm a girl. But just this week I needed a hoodie one morning. Grabbed one of mine (3x) and it just swallowed me so I took one of his that he doesn't wear (L) and it's a bit big. And then we been cleaning out closets and such this week and he brings me a stack of athletic shorts. I've always worn men's athletic shorts (2X) as I find women's are not long enough nor heavy enough. And I fit into some mediums he no longer can wear. Yay for me as I don't need to go buy any workout shorts now. I was starting to look a bit scary when walking the dogs as all my workout/sweats were many sizes too large.

This site is free. If it takes a lil longer, oh well. I'd rather that it work right than be rushed and become a cluster.

    liquid stage

I was allowed dairy during the liquid stage so I would add a tablespoon or two of whole cream to the broths that I was allowed. Didn't make them thick but added a richness. And I was having such small amount the calories didn't add up.
  14. I've lost a lil more than 90 lbs in 10 months. I log everything I eat and keep my calories at ~1000/day. I walk 3-5 miles at least 3 times a week with my dogs. I'm going to start some weight lifting soon to tone. It's great that you've lost weight but I do agree with the other post. It seems like you should have lost more. Perhaps it's time to go in and talk with your doctor? How much do you want to lose? Set a goal and start working towards it. And it's perfectly fine if that goal is just 5 lbs. Sometimes if we look at the total amount that needs to be lost we can get overwhelmed. Smaller amounts can seem more manageable. For me, it was the first 30 lbs, then to reach 199. Now I have my sights set on 175. Then I just want to be "overweight" and not obese by BMI charts. And then I hope to reach a healthy BMI. I knew this was going to be a long journey. For me I fully expect it to take almost two years.

    need breakfast ideas

Just remember you can eat whatever whenever. Just because it's in the morning that doesn't mean you HAVE to eat something that's considered a breakfast food. Just eat protein as your doctor requires.
  16. Are you having a bad day? If so I hope it gets better.

    quinoa recipes??

I substitute it for grits in shrimp and grits. Also any casserole dish that uses rice I substitute it.
  18. Legally you don't have to say anything. But since you've been open in the past, hernia might be the way to go. As for the paperwork, talk with your surgeon and the staff to see what it might say.

    Playing Dress Up

I've gotten into the habit of going into my closet on Sunday evenings and trying on clothes. I'm actively loosing weight so I never know what's going to fit. And when I wasn't doing it weekly I missed out on wearing some things. So today I'm standing in front of the mirror wearing a formal dress (have an event in early December) and my son comes in and says "aren't you a little old to be playing dress up?" Which I promptly reply - NOPE. Anyone else play dress up?

Sitting in the recliner with my feet pulled up into the seat. Shopping in regular size area even if it's 16/18s. Walking the dogs and they get tired first. Getting carded when going into a casino. I'm getting close to being 40 and I'm the only one of the group that they carded. I called my friend's husband dad the rest of the evening as he has sons that are 23 & 25. Lol.
  23. Just my idea- Calculate your BMR (diff from BMI). This is the number of calories your body burns at rest. Then add the amount of calories you burn exercising. Really do some research on this and remember to subtract the amount of calories you would have burned during that time period if you weren't exercising. It's very easy to overestimate calories burned during exercise. Once you have this total subtract the amount of calories you consume. As you prolly know 500 calories less a day will equal a pound lost in a week. This is why the last 20-25 pounds can go soooo slowly especially for women that aren't very tall. Our bodies just don't burn as much as a 6' guy. You might replace a day or two of jogging with weight training as muscle does burn more calories than fat even at rest. I've got about 50 more pounds to lose and still doing well but I'm already preparing myself for those last 20 lbs. I just have a feeling they'll be harder to lose than 100 pounds. Best of luck!
