  1. How's everyone doing at 4-5 weeks out?! Im loving being on my soft diet. My calories have increaaed from eating around 300-500 to around 600-700. As long as I get all my protein and water in I lose weight steadily. The couple times ive stalled for a few days was because I wasnt quite meeting my protein goals. Ive lost 34.5lbs. Drinking pretty normally...restriction is good. I can eat about half a cup for slowly although most of the time its less. Im just having a hard time not grazing. Hope everyone elaee is doing good!!!
  2. Christy, so sorry you're having issues! I hope they get better very soon! I'm doing pretty good at almost 3 weeks out. I've lost 28lbs! Wahoo! My surgeon keeps his patients on full liquids until 22 days post op. I had what I thought was reflux/heart burn but when I asked him about it yesterday he said it's common to have that pain there and is from the nerve endings healing that were cut off. However, I still think it's a bit of reflux because it was waaaay worse after I blended up some spicy tortilla soup and ate it. lol So I've cut out all the spicy yummy soup that I normally love and it seems to have gotten better. He told me to wait another week to advance to purees/soft which I'm NOT happy about. I loved my premier protein shakes from costco but now I can't stand the protein after taste. It makes me nauseous. I also tried out the unjury unflavored protein and I taste the overwhelming protein grossness no matter what I put it in which makes me want to vomit. I just can't wait to eat meat!!!! I've been averaging around 400calories a day. I havn't gone over 500. I'm lucky to get in 2 protein shakes and then soup with the unjury added in. And lots of water. I'm doing great with keeping protein above 70 and fluids above 64. I'm still VERY sleepy by the afternoon though and have no energy but that'll get better when I start eating real food I hope. Oh, and i'm physically never hungry. I It's all in my head and I could eat 5 cows. lol

    Stall... already?

My body isn't cooperating how I would like it to either. 5 days post op I was the same weight for about 3 days. I'm now almost 2 weeks out and I've been the same weight for the past 3 mornings again. Its frustrating!! However, on days that I'm not "Stalled" I lose almost a lb a day which is pretty nice! I definitely DON'T want to lose that fast forever but a quick jump start is nice...especially when I'm still only eating around 300-500 cals a day (I'm stuck on full liquids until 22 days post op. I just keep reminding myself that as long as I'm getting my Protein in and drinking lots of Water the weight will eventually go away. So I'm trying not to get discouraged over a small few day stall here and there. I'm also trying to mentally prepare for longer stalls. bleh.
  4. I was sleeved 5/20 and finally doing pretty darn good. I was in pain and a big baby for the first 3-4 days. Today was my first day with no pain meds and little discomfort. I'm still on semi-clear liquids...I'm allowed broths, sugar free juice and popsicles, thin Protein shakes...no Jello. Boo. Tomorrow I can add in strained broccoli/cheese, potato, creamy Soups. I don't start my soft/mushies until 22 days post op. I'm counting down the days. I think today was the first day that I got hungry but I few sips of Protein shake filled me up. I'm handling liquids really well too finally. I had to take VERY tiny sips the first few days. I've lost 14 lbs since surgery date. I didn't poop, or even fart for that matter, until 5 days post op. It was lots of gas and complete liquid. I pooped again today and was a little constipated so I'll be adding in my miralax tomorrow. I was really questioning having surgery last week but so glad I did it now that I'm feeling better! I just want to eat some meat. lol
