  1. If you're that hungry, I would call and talk to your surgeon to see if you can get the OK to start the next stage a bit sooner. I know it's tough, but I don't recommend adding foods (especially this soon out of surgery) without speaking to the dr about it. Remember, this misery doesn't last forever. Just hang in there! You've got this!

    NSV: Size 1...in tights.

    Awesome! Congrats!
  3. Nope! There is nothing wrong with putting yourself first, and taking charge of your health! You need to brush off all the negative comments, and do what's best for YOU!!

    another nsv

    That's a great NSV!!! Congrats!
  5. I have the Allergan lapband. I think they're pretty similar. I didn't have a choice, but I do remember reading about a lower profile port in the realize band. Also, there was a very slight difference in the 'cushion' of the band (where the fill goes for restriction), but I don't remember specifics.

    sleeping after eating

Is there a reason you think your pouch is stretched? I guess I've never heard that you can stretch your pouch by going to bed after eating. I often have a light snack before going to bed, and haven't had any issues.

    55 pounds down!

You look fabulous!! You're doing great!
  8. It does look a swollen in the pic you posted. Unless you're having pain, I'd probably just take it really easy today, and call Monday morning to have it checked out.

Not sure what's going on :(

30lbs in just a few months is pretty amazing! Everyone loses at different paces. If the scale is bringing you down, put it away for awhile. As others have said, try to focus on all the great nonscale things that are happening with your body! I think you're doing great! Just keep doing what you're doing, and the weight will continue to come off.

    Meal size

I measure whatever I can, and always eat off of a small dessert plate. I also really listen to my body, I'm usually satisfied on much less than what's on my plate.

12 more days and it can't come soon enough!

It'll be here in NO time!! I remember feeling like a kid waiting for Christmas morning! Of course, the week prior seemed like the longest week of my life! Now, I'm already just shy of being a year out, and I can't help but think "where did the time go"?! Wishing you much success on your journey! Good luck!

    The Dreaded Loose Skin!

I have horrible loose skin, but I haven't really done any regular exercise. I'd suggest getting into some sort of exercise routine right from the beginning! I wish I had!

With summer and vacations coming up...swimsuits?

I was also going to suggest a Miracle suit! They're more pricey, but so worth it!!

    Any cavemen/paleo diet followers?

Oh, it's so easy! I'd just take an avocado, some chicken breast, finely chopped cucumber, squeezed a bit of juice from both a lemon and a lime...I'd just pulse it in my food processor so everything was to a good 'mushy' texture. Add any other seasonings you'd like! I've even made it with some salsa mixed it.

    Hello! Newbie with Q's :-)

I still eat steak! YUM! I can pretty much eat anything without any issues, as long as I take my time, and remember to chew. haha

    I have my date!

That's great! Congrats, and good luck!
  17. As long as you're following the rules, you're doing fine! I'm not even a year out yet and have lost a significant amount of weight...especially considering they told me to expect only about a 40lb loss the first year. Enjoy it while it's falling off, the weightloss will slow down, I promise!

    Any cavemen/paleo diet followers?

I loved avocado chicken salad when I was on mushy's. I'd squeeze a bit of lemon and lime juice to it, and add some very very finely chopped cucumber! So good!

How often do you get a fill?

I went once a month. I needed 3 before I hit the green zone.

2 years post lap band removal

This is a chance you take with any WLS, not just the band. I would think anyone going into a major surgery like this would know the risks. I also think it's important to research HOW the wls you chose is meant to work, and help assist with weightloss. I truly believe people think that the band will 'stop' you from eating (the tighter the better, 'I shouldn't be able to eat that', etc...), when that's just not the case (not saying this is what happened to you, I'm just speaking in general). It's a whole new lifestyle, and it's learning to work with it. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Wishing you much success, and continued weight loss!

    Red Zone or Band Slippage?

Sounds to me like you're too tight, but I think it's best to get in to see the doc.
  24. I did pretty well! I'm not going to lie, I was nervous! I even told my husband my goal through the holidays was to just maintain my November 1st weight. I've lost 10lbs since then! I just ate pretty much what I wanted, but unlike other years, I was actually mindful about what I was eating and how much. I didn't allow myself the 'oh well, it's the holidays' mentality that would typically have me gaining 10-15lbs. If I wanted a cookie, I had a cookie, but just like everyday, I tracked it in my food log and moved on!
