  1. NYC, I completely understand what you are going through, my experience is very similar. I scheduled my surgery three days out from being approved. During that three day period I must have had 10 "last meals", I had no self control whatsoever during that pre op time. It does get much better after surgery, especially after you get a few "fills". You are not alone. Great job on your pre op! It's awesome you are feeling empowered now. Good luck with your surgery.

  2. I wish I would have asked what one food is high in Protein, low carb, low in fat, rich in Calcium, low in sodium, low in calorie, high in Iron, savory and not sweet, available at any drive thru, smooth enough to go past my band, able to meet all my Vitamin and mineral needs, that will satisfy my hunger and I'll never get tired of its texture or taste and not total more than 1.5 cups in mass for a daily allowance. It's now my life's Quest to find it and when I do, I'll be a zillionaire!

  3. Candace, I totally feel for you. I get so frustrated at times because I can't use aspirin or Motrin. I wish my surgeon would have spent more time educating me on pain control. Even with Tylenol, I can't swallow the caplets or tablets so I have to take liquid. I can only find it in "children's" strength. Swallowing 6 teaspoons to equal an adult dose. I just can't stand it. I live in a small town and the pharmacies will not order adult strength liquid Tylenol because its expensive and there is not a demand for it. Pain control is one of the only negatives to having the band I have found. I apologize for my rant. Two days and counting till my TOM. Ugh! Hope you feel better soon.

  4. I had two "stuck" episodes within two days. I had a sensation like you are describing, my doctor explained it was secondary to being "stuck" and my esophagus responded in a way it had never had to contract before and that I might continue to have muscle spasms for up to a month. I didn't have an "un-fill" but went on liquids for a week the mushies for 2 weeks. It took about 3 weeks for it to subside. I required muscle relaxers. Talk to your doctor today, he will have the answers you need. Best of luck and I hope you get comfortable soon.

  5. Please don't be hard on yourself, you are doing fantastic. I do understand as we lose weight, some of us develop a new identity from being in control of what we eat, it becomes part of who we are now. It can be very taxing when we lose control, whether that be an entire pizza or .5 teaspoon of mashed potatoes. The guilt and disappointment can be overwhelming (scary too). I'm a proud of you and your post. You start out with your accomplishments. Just keep that up! You're going to be a Rock Star!

  6. When given the options at a pizza place, I opt for the thin and crispy crust and I ask that it be sliced into squares so the portion sizes include more of the topping and less crust, two squares are just the right size vs the pie shaped slices. That's my pizza tricks, I'm certain you will get many great ideas from the others on the site. Good luck!

  7. Hi ladies, I would love to participate too. I live in Fountain Hills, but very willing to travel. I used True Results and I'm very happy. My surgery was 11/01/12, I've lost 40 pounds to date. I was starving and lost very little weight until January. True Results got me to the "green zone" in 2.5 months and that pleased me. They were willing to give me fills every two to three weeks. I greatly appreciated that. How are you all doing?

  8. I've had extreme cravings for the same items, I've been banded for 20days and I'm praying my first fill next week resolves the craving. Try to get your Protein first then measure out a serving size portion and snack slowly on that through out the day. A friend told me to really increase my Water intake and munch on ice chips when craving come. However, I've not be that proactive yet. Good luck and know you're not alone.
