5 weeks post op and I want wine!
I know it is too soon for wine, but boy, this and diet coke are at the top of my list of things that I am really missing. Granted I did drink a lot of wine before surgery. Anyone else really missing wine? My Gastric Sleeve Blog: https://jennysgastricsleevelife.blogspot.com

400-600 cals a day, 15 carbs, 60-80 protein....and about to start exercising. Dietician says keep diet this strict!
She said keep the calories at 400-600 no matter how much I am burning with exercise.

400-600 cals a day, 15 carbs, 60-80 protein....and about to start exercising. Dietician says keep diet this strict!
I'm 4 weeks postop. My surgeon has a really strict diet plan until you reach your goal. 400-600 calories a day, 15 carbs a day, 60-80 grams protein. I ordered a Cybex Arc Trainer on ebay (if you haven't used one of these, you have to try!) I burn 700-800 calories an hour on this thing. It is my exercise of choice and I love it!! I asked my dietician that if I am burning 700-800 calories a day (and I could easily burn more within just a few weeks) if I should keep my calorie intake at 500-600 calories a day and on average I will be burning 800-1200 calories in exercise alone pretty soon. My exercise physiologist told me the same thing. Is this how it is for you guys? It doesn't make much sense to me?? I am afraid if I increase the calories a little if this will slow my weight loss down. I really want to get the most out of the "6 month honey moon phase!" Help please!!

Any Regrets?
I am 4 weeks out and don't have a single regret. Recovery was a breeze. I am down almost 23 pounds. The preop and postop diets are the hardest part of the whole thing in my opinion!

I'd rather drink. Is this normal?
I am 4 weeks post-op today, so I am still on the puréed stage. I should start regular food this coming weekend. My problem is I'd rather drink my protein shakes for meals than eat food. If you told me this when I was in the liquid stage I would of said you are nuts! Nothing is really very appealing (mushy food gets old quick). Is it ok that I am still drinking protein shakes so much? I'll have one for breakfast and lunch and try to eat a small dinner.

Turkey loaf on pureed stage?

I ate a can of tuna!
I was so excited to start the puréed / mushy food stage today. I have been SO hungry the past few days! I am 2.5 weeks post op. For breakfast I cooked up two scrambled eggs with a little mozzarella cheese. It just didn't taste good to me... I had maybe 10-15 very tiny bites and gave up. My hunger magically went away completely. Yay! For lunch I had a can of tuna with a little fat free mayo and dill relish, and I also mixed in a Swiss laughing cow cheese for an extra two grams of protein. I wasn't very hungry but knew I needed to eat it to get some protein in so that maybe I can get off of the protein shakes. It took a while to eat, but I got it all down and it's funny how happy I was that I was able to get it all down. LOL neither eggs nor tuna have made me feel bad or anything. What is everyone else eating on this stage?

Any Tennessee Sleevers Out There?
Dr. Houston is my surgeon too. I had surgery on January 9! I am down 16 pounds so far and no complications. I feel fine. any questions I will be happy to answer them!

How many carbs are you allowed?
I am still on Stage 2 Protein shakes (and can't WAIT to eat real food!!!) I was reading through my manual from the surgeon's office, and until I have reached 75% of my weight loss, I'm allowed 400-600 calories a day, 3 meals a day, no Snacks, 60-80 grams of protein a day, and 5 carbs per meal.....so a maximum of 15 carbs a day. Is everyone else's plan this strict? I know surgeons are different but it seems my plan is super strict. I'm not allowed rice, Pasta, bread, crackers, Cereal, potatoes, Beans, etc at all until 75% weight loss. If I am going to be able to eat such a small amount, are these foods (in moderation) really going to slow things down? My Gastric Sleeve Blog: https://jennysgastricsleevelife.blogspot.com

2 days post-op
I am only two days post-op but the only thing I am having to deal with is HUNGER! I'm having no trouble at all drinking and getting my Protein in. In fact I'm kind of confused with why I can drink so fast with no pain or discomfort. It's silly but I'm starting to wonder if he even removed 85% of my stomach! Surgery is THIS WEDNESDAY! Getting really scared!
My surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday the 9th! Up until today, I have been pretty calm. But now I'm suddenly terrified. So anxious about the pain, the nausea, possible complications, everything negative! Mostly I am only scared of the recovery. I feel like I can stick to the eating plan and do what I need to do to be successful....as long as I don't have complications and be in so much pain and nauseas. Any advice? :( My Gastric Sleeve Blog: https://jennysgastricsleevelife.blogspot.com
