  1. I'm going to try the 5 day pouch test... I've been reading up on it and if I feel it hasn't helped (which I have a good feeling it will) then I will go see my Dr about looking at things a little more. It's been a long year and I've put weight on which is getting me down. I remember how much determination I had before getting into a relationship and I want to get back to that. Wanting this so much is a start, because without wanting to get there again I will never do it. Back to basics as soon as I'm back home from holidays seeing the partners family. Liquid stage through to solid stage all over again- I will do it. Thanks for the reply, it helps having at least one person reply and put things into some perspective. Thank you x
  2. Hi all, I've been banded since August 2012. I find I am eating WAY too much at meal times. I have days where I can't eat and other days where I can. I'm finding it super hard to stop eating once I am no longer hungry and I over eat. I've fallen off the weight loss wagon and am gaining weight and i know it's due to old eating habits resurfacing and I'm not as active. Has anyone experienced this before and has anyone done the 5 day pouch test or something similar??? I just figured going "back to basics" liquid for a couple of days, then purée, then soft and then slowly introducing solids again might help me get back to my old eating habits and of course getting back into the gym work. I'm afraid I may have stretched my pouch or have had a slip.... Not sure. Just looking for answers and some support. I'm hoping a 5 day pouch test will help me.

    Stuggling with weight gain.

Thanks heaps everyone. It's hard being the only person I know with a band in my circle of friends and in my family. Their bad habits slowly rubbing off on me and they aren't the blame... It's my fault for letting myself fall back into old habits. It's my choice at the end of the day and now I choose to have my healthy life style back. I have always been made to feel guilty for not joining in on nights out drinking and partying. I haven't had a drink in 2 weeks and my fiancée hasn't either. He has been a great support and I tell you what, so have all you guys. I really do love this group and getting support from everyone who knows what I am going through. Not even that but people who have a band and can help me with hints and tricks to keeping on track. You're all amazing x

I will add I am back at gym but struggling to keep in routine. I sometimes skip days and might not go for a week at a time
  5. Hey all :-) I've been banded for nearly 2 years now and I started my journey at 130kg. I lost 43kg in the first year yet I've slowly put on 10kg the last 10 months. I met my now fiancée a year ago and that's when I started getting "comfortable". I stopped going to the gym and started eating "junket" again (no where near as much as I was). I find if I eat I'm eating more than I use too. I need some tips on how to get back on track and I don't know if I need another fill, or should try the liquid stage again to "shrink" my pouch incase I've stretched it a bit. Any help will be greatly appreciated.... I'm ready to do it properly again I've let myself fall behind the 8 ball.
  6. Hey guys, I was banded on the 7th of August 2012, did find my sweet spot with my fills and everything was going amazingly I've lost 43kg's so far. I use to struggle in my green zone with certain foods but I find I am struggling with eating meals most of the time now. Without fail I get heartburn at least once a day. I have been doing a lot of weight training but I wasn't to sure if this would cause my band to tighten or not which is resulting in not being able to eat and not to mention the unbearable heartburn. I was considering getting a small amount of Fluid taken out today to see if this would help. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this before and if so, pretty please can I get your advice! Much love ❤️
  7. WELCOME AND A MASSIVE CONGRATS :-D I was banded 5 months ago and i can honesty say it has been the best decision I have ever made for myself. After coming out of surgery and getting home I was finding it a struggle to drink my liquids all day everyday for 2 weeks. I didn't think I would be able to do it but I kept in mind that I couldn't afford for anything to happen and jeopardize the life changing choice I had made. I kept myself occupied by reading, watching my favorite movies and well doing my favorite pass time- sleep :-D It is worth it, you are strong enough to do it- you made a life changing decision like everyone else here and that takes strength! GOOD LUCK!!!!! P.S- when you get to purée you will think you've gone to heaven :-) hang in there x
  8. Hey fellow banders :-) OMG fist post and I'm just a tad nervous :-) I've been banded just over 5 months, starting weight was 128kg's I've lost 30kg so far but I am worried I'm not doing the right thing/not enough when it comes to toning/tightening my skin (tummy and arms mainly). I go to the gym for 2 hours, 4 days out of the week and run and swim the other 3 (have had a slack 2 weeks though) When at the gym I do an hour cardio which includes- bike, rower, treadmill and x-trainer then I spend half hour doing weights, then the remaining 30 minutes doing crunches, push-ups, planks, and some oblique exercises... I drink plenty of Water to keep myself hydrated which I know is one of the keys to keeping the elasticity in your skin- but if anyone else has any other helpful tips that would be A-MAZING!!!! Thanks a whole heap and happy banding :-D
