GET UP!!!, We all know that psycologically, the lap band is not a cure all. You need to contact your local support group. Attend another seminar if you have to. Find a therapist. You have to deal with emotions and internal issues in order to break the addiction. I pray you get the strength to throw away everything in your home that is a hinderance to you.
It's not over for you, You can make it !!!

Iam almost 2 years into this and have been at a stand still for the last year. I find myself drinking alcohol in place of my food addiction. It's keeping my pounds on. I'm lost and in desperate need of guidance. I eat cheese and crackers instead of Soup. I'm looking for help. Please.

most people have to do a six month diet for the insurance. If you can afford it have the doctor recommend a nutritionist ( most insurance will not cover this ) the cost will be about 100 a month. That way all will be documented. Good luck and hugs

I had to do a 6mth supervised diet. Went to PCP every month. I lost a couple lbs a month, was afraid if I lost too much they would deny me. After ins approval I kicked it up a notch and lost 34 lbs before surgery. My Dr allowed me to choose my own diet, I did MyFitnessPal 1500 cal.
    Best wishes on your journey!

You don't tell us your weight or your BMI. that in some cases determines how much you should lose.. If you have a little to lose and lose to much the insurance can deny you by saying you can do this on your own.......If you have a lot to lose then this maybe an indicator of how you can lose weight.. Ask your Dr. he deals with insurance companys all the time and he can can tell you what he thinks is correct and what diet to follow. Best wishes.

Wow this has been so hard. I am so proud of myself that I have been able to resist temptation and follow the liquid diet. I picked up my grandson Mario yesterday and stopped at McDonald's to buy him a not-so- happy meal, lol. He fell asleep in the back seat and I found myself all alone with fresh french fries just sitting on my front passenger seat. I'm sure everyone knows how tempting that was but the thing that stopped me was my weigh in today. I was not about to throw away 12 days of hard work for temporary gratification followed but days of regret. I probably wont ever be able to enjoy a milk shake for the rest of my life because I do struggle with my Protein shakes but it's all worth it. This morning I got on the scale and I found that I have lost 12 lbs in 7 days and I am super excited. :D :D
The closer the 15th comes the more nervous I get. I pray that everyone has the strength to complete the pre-op diet, including myself-everyday is a struggle, and continue to make health choices after surgery. Have a great weekend and God Bless!!!

Ask the doctor's office for a prelim diet. Usually they have one that they prefer.

You said you are eating these food because "it goes down well" .. what do you mean by that? What are you eating that you are having difficulty swallowing. That is where you need to figure out. Are you having a hard time swallowing your foods? are you substituting 'slider' foods in place?
If you are doing this because of 'cravings' you need to find other ways (healthy) to curb the craving monster. Chocoloate Protein drinks first thing in the morning might help. Throw away the chips and candy outside to the trash. If you bring them in the house temptation will always be there.
You can do this!! Stay strong and clean out the garbage today!!!
