    3 Days post op

That's crazy!! I was on clear liquids for 3 days then super runny full liquids for 2 weeks. Now soft foods, which I've been on 1.5 weeks. I'm down 30lbs since my one week prior to surgery pre op diet. I was sleeved 3/25. Starting weight 262, current weight 232. I pretty much eat whatever I want with the exception of shrimp, hamburger meat, solid fruits (can only eat bananas and fruits in juice).

    MAJOR regrets

I had these same feelings for the first three days post op. I couldn't eat my liquids, didn't want Water. All I wanted to do was sleep. I was miserable. I had no energy, couldn't get anything down. Everything made me wanna vomit. It passes. I'm 2.5 weeks post op. And I feel great now. I'm on soft foods, going to school (went back one week out) struggled like hell the first week and now it's like I never even had a surgery. I feel like my regular self; there's just limitations on food intake and exercise. It does get better. I promise. Right now you're hating yourself for this. I did too. I got the Lapband and went through hell with it. Got so fed up, had it taken out and immediately swapped with the sleeve. My whole life is different now. Once you feel better you won't regret it. You'll realize how much better off you'll be in life. I'm down almost 30lbs, and my BMI is down to a 38. And it was a 42. I wish you the best of luck!
  3. Sleeved march 25th got the all clear Friday to do light cardio walking and jogging. And then I can life no more than 10lbs. This is for the next month. Then I can lift and exercise how I see fit. Going to the rec center on campus today to get my locker for the quarter. Really excited to start working out on Monday!!!!
  4. I feel like every soft food meal I have trouble getting in my four oz. my dr told me my stomach is somewhere between 4-6 oz and that's what I need to be getting in each meal. I've been weighing my food. I made some canned chicken and it weighed 3.75 oz. I cooked it and mixed it with some sauce. I could barely eat half of it before I was full. I can't figure out if it's because my stomach is still healing or what. liquid wise I can take 4-6 oz no problem. But soft foods are another story. I'm two weeks post op today. And health wise I feel fantastic. Doesn't even feel like I've had surgery. I've followed my drs orders to the T. He said stick to canned chicken, or grilled chicken breast, veggies, fruits, fat free Beans, turkey. Basically everything Protein rich. Anyone else having similar issues?

    Trouble getting in the 4oz

Well it's good to know it's not just me. Thanks guys!!!

    Trouble getting in the 4oz

Well it's basically puréed. He said chew it down to the consistency of Apple sauce. I do better with the Beans, the soft fruits in its juices (oranges) and the pudding. It's easier than the chicken.

    Trouble getting in the 4oz

I wonder how long till I can eat the amount I should. I struggle everyday to get my 900-1000 cal in. Which is what my dr wants me to get. I can only get about 450-525.

Man I am dying. I'm ten days post op and sooooo hungry. My dr still has me on clear liquids so my diet consists of protein shakes, broth, jello and Popsicles. And all I want is food. I see my dr tomorrow and I'm hoping he progresses me. I see others who get progressed quickly and I'm like why can't this be me? Lol. I feel like all these liquids aren't filling me up. Ugh
  9. 25lbs since the 17th. which is when i began my liquid diet. I was 262 at my highest. I'm now 237 been here for several days.

I'm one week post up and STILL on Clear liquids. Everywhere I go people are eating food. Just my luck. I would kill for good right about now. Seeing dr on Friday. He's putting me on full liquids or soft foods (I hope) haaa. I'm just ready to eat. Being back at school I feel like I've got less energy without food.

    March 2014 Sleevers

Anybody got issues with coughing fits? 5 days post op and today coughing fits occurred. Like the coughs u get with a bad cold. It was horrible. And I've developed a sore throat. Getting meds for that tomorrow. But I can honestly say it has gotten way better with each day. I have pain meds I'm supposed to take every four hours as needed. And about day 3- I started only taking half a pill twice daily. And that's managed my pain. I go back to school Tuesday so I don't want to be totally doped up. Just enough to help subside my pain. I'm down 24lbs since the 17th. And I couldn't be happier. Those struggling. It really does get better. I had those feelings early on, the why did I do this, I hate this, I'm miserable. But Friday I woke up, I ate jello and drank broth. And from there it just got better. I have a check up Friday where hopefully I'll move from clear liquids to full liquids or soft foods.
  12. Well considering I've also dropped in body fat and bmi. It wasn't Water weight. You would loose weight if you tried that diet even for like a week. In the end it's up to you. Were just here for a sounding board. Something is obviously wrong in what your doing if you have gained weight and can eat that amount. That's not supposed to happen at all. Just offering up my advice.
  13. It's basically the preop diet I was given. And I dropped 15lbs in a week.
  14. Try this put yourself on a 900 calorie diet. That's 3 shakes and still room for 2-3 Snacks within 300 calories. don't eat foods high in carbs or fat. That will help.
  15. Yeah I think you def stretched it out some. That's a lot of pizza for having the sleeve. Idk if u stretched it to full preop size but from what you're saying it's def stretched some
  16. Well what did you eat before in comparison to now? For example I could probably eat four big slices of pizza before. Now my stomach is 4oz and I'm on liquids still. But I'm going to assume if I were to eat pizza were talking maybe a small slice if that.
  17. Hmmm. Well you should only be able to eat a certain amount if you haven't stretched past what your dr said. Are you eating the 6 recommended meals a day and only eating things recommended?
  18. Yes it can stretch back. If you over eat passed what you should you can stretch it out. I know they told me they wanted me to stretch from 4 to 8oz but that's it. What portion size can you eat?

    March 2014 Sleevers

Today was extremely hard. We have a family birthday party and I wanted to go to do something to get out of the house. And it's a chuckee cheese. And since my surgery was only Tuesday I'm still on clear liquids. So I can't eat anything here. And pizza got put right in front of me and I broke down in tears. It's the first food I've seen in days. And I wanted it so bad. I just lost it. I'm hoping it gets better. I need to get over this food thing.

    March 2014 Sleevers

Does anyone else have trouble sleeping through the night? 3rd day post op and it's been like this since I came home. I used to sleep 8-10 hours no problem. No I'm lucky if I get 3-4 before waking up. And then it takes forever to go back to sleep. Ugh.

    March 2014 Sleevers

Two days post op. And I keep asking myself why the hell I did this. I know in a few days to a few weeks I will be fine but right now? I'm absolutely miserable. The nausea is the worst. My medicine makes me dry heave. It's awful. I'm struggling trying to get my fluids down because all I wanna do is sleep. I hopefully get the drain taken out tomorrow maybe it will get easier then. I finally got to shower today and that was like running a marathon. I get chest pains that come and go. Hiccups are real bad too sometimes. I'm hoping that all of this is normal and that in a few days I'll be fine. I go back to school Tuesday. That's going to be fun.....not.
  23. My name is Lexi and I was banded on may 3rd 2011. It was one of the worst experiences of my entire life. I wouldn't wish the band on my worst enemy. I couldn't eat fruits or veggies or shrimp. Ever. I would get incredibly ill. On feb 7th 2014, I started the process to get the band removed and concert it to the gastric sleeve. I had heard about it everywhere. I was totally excited. He started by removing my liquid and essentially "turning the band off" from that moment on I could eat fruits, veggies and even shrimp, and not get sick at all. The hardest thing thus far was the pre diet. Nothing but liquids for two weeks. I wanted to CRY. I did in fact cry more than once. I kept telling myself in a few months this won't even matter. My band was safely removed and I became a sleeve patient on march 25th 2014. It was the smartest thing I have done. One-day post op and I already feel better than I did with the band. The pain is there but not unbearable. I have several goals in mind for the future. I would love to be below 200 by the end of July. When I began this process I was 262lbs. The day of my surgery I was 247lbs. That means I've got 4 months to loose 48lbs. I wanted an easier goal so that I wouldn't push myself so hard that id crack and pig out. Because food has always been a comfort to me and I know this will be tough. But I am ready for this. I wanted to join a support group to share my story and help others but also help myself.
