HELP!
Hi everyone! I've been off this forum for a long time since having my vsg on 4/24/13. My starting weight was 240, sleeved at 220 and currently at 183. My struggle now is that I feel hungry very shortly after I eat, and I snack a lot because I am hungry! 4 months after my surgery I found out I was pregnant. Even with all day sickness I only lost a few lbs and in my second trimester I started getting VERY HUNGRY! I feel like it kinda ruined my surgery having a baby so soon (wasn't planned). When I was breast feeding I got down to 167 but since I stopped I've only gained. I've also had issues with my thyroid that are still being worked on, but I feel like I can eat way too much and that I failed my surgery Now I'm totally depressed, feeling fat and like a failure. I have no clue what to do!

Shampoo for hair loss
Hey guys! I am a little over 3 months out and Ive noticed a lot of hair loss... I have pretty thick hair as it is, but its still a concern for me. I have been using Nioxin shampoo, conditioner, root spray and styling cream. I notice that my hair is a lot fuller when I use the products, but I was hoping it would help with the hair loss. I was looking online and found Organix biotin and Collagen shampoo and was wondering if anyone has used it and how they like it. Nioxin is really expensive, and if I could get the same results with the Organix Id rather go that way. I did try the Garnier Fall Fight but I hate the way it smells and it makes my head itch!!

Body Aches Post Op
So I am now 5 days post op and I am able to get all my protien and fluids in just fine. Had some nausea today but nothing my anti nausea med doesnt help. I dont have any pain when I drink or eat anything, but Ive been having body aches. They go away for the most part when I take my pain meds, but I just wanted to see if others have had this issue. Ive also had a fever that comes and goes, never goes above 99.8. I called my doctor and the fever is normal. It goes down when I take my pain meds since they have tylenol in them as well. Should I be really worried or is this normal? Thanks!!

Only a few more days to go!
I cant believe surgery is almost here...It has yet to sink in...I mean REALLY sink in! I was doing well with my diet for the past few months, even lost 20 lbs! I weighed myself on Friday morning and I was still at 219, but I did some indulging Friday night and this weekend....so I hope I don't gain very much I really wanted some chicken wings, but then my mom mentioned bbq (which is one of my favorite things) so hubby and I went out to get ribs and fried pickles at our favorite place. Yesterday wasn't that bad...Had some low fat french toast from trader joes and an orange for Breakfast, a Protein shake for lunch and some thai take out for dinner (from our most favorite place!) but I didn't get a fried dish...this morning I had a couple blueberry pancakes with sugar free syrup, turkey sausage and one egg. Lunch will also be on the light side since I am at work (I work with prader willi individuals on a strict diet so everything at work is pretty healthy to eat) but this evening one of my girlfriends is coming over for dinner and I'm thinking we will be ordering pizza.... I feel like I should be saying goodbye to all my favorite foods, but I also don't want to sabotage myself. Thats the old me...self sabotaging me. I want to succeed! So needless to say, I am REALLY looking forward to Wednesday! Ive even started to get my hospital bag together! I am super scared, but that nervousness has been slowly going away....I am more excited for the first day of the rest of my life to start!!!

How were you at 2 weeks out?!
Thanks for all the info guys! Really appriciate it I am getting sooo anxious!

How were you at 2 weeks out?!
So, surgery is in one week!! woohoo!! I still feel like it isn't real...or that something is going to happen to mess it all up. I am really excited but really scared at the same time. Because my temp disability pays so little ($171 per week) I cant stay out of work for more than 2 weeks, as I also only have 40 hours of pto (got sick 2 weeks ago and had to use up 2 days ugh!). So my question is, how was everyone at 2 weeks out? Those that did not have complications, as I understand that this will put me out of work for longer. I expect I will still be getting tired easily, but is there any pain? Anything I should be concerned about? I've read posts where people are back to work within a few days, and then others who are going through hell for a few weeks. I just wanted to get more imput on this... Thanks!

Skin Tightening/Cellulite Reducing Laser Treatments
I was wondering if anyone has tried any skin tightening/cellulite reducing laser treatments post weight loss. I am looking for a more affordable alternative to plastics after surgery and weight loss, as my insurance does not cover it and I will never have tens of thousands to spend on pastic surgery. There is a spa in my area that does these kinds of laser treatments, but its about $2000 for the treatment. Before I even invest this much I was wondering if anyone has had this done? Thanks!

Gas or gall bladder?
gallbladder pain is on your right side, this is where its located, right under your ribs!

Liquid Diet
YEah, that sounds like a good idea, just to get used to it and get my schedule down so that I know what to do when I get home! I am awaiting a package with some protien shake samples. They should be here this week!

Help! Severe pain!
Gallbladder pain is horrible, it feels like you are having a heart attack. I would go and have an ultrasound of your gallbladder just to be sure. Also, if you press down right under your ribs on the right side of your body, if it is tender then it is most likely gallbladder! I had mine removed 3 years ago and what you are describing sounds similar to what I went through. Horrible back and chest pain!! I thought I was having a heart attack! This is especially common in women around the age of 30 who have recently lost weight.

Liquid Diet
My doc does not require us to do a pre op liquid diet, but I was wondering if it would be good to do this anyways?

sleeve wed and I woke up sick!
Get this drink mix called Emergen-C and have a bunch of those till your surgery. They help a lot in relieving cold symptoms and building up your ammune system!! Good luck! I was sick this past week, still recovering and I have my pre surgery testing next week. Im nervous that my white blood count will be high, but one of the nurses that I work with said that after the first few days your white blood count goes back to normal.
